Detailed Reviews

Bella Vista Mare is more of a familiy guesthouse than a resort. There is about 8 or 10 little cosy rooms, all with a plunge view on beautiful Santiago Bay! The rooms are all with bathrooms, some with air-con and some with fan. It's very clean, beds are comfortable and bathroom are small but clean also. The price is very reasonnable for low budget travellers and for a few more pesos, you can have a filipino breakfast included every morning. The backyard is really peacefull with its beautiful panorama and tables and chairs where you can eat or just watch sunset with a cold San Mig beer! The place is owned by Andy, an Italian expat who's really nice and helpful with everything you need to know about the island! He can also rent motorbikes and snorkelling gear for a really good price. There is a direct access to the beach and some local restaurants on the beach (try Nena's grill, staff is amazing and fish is perfectly-cooked and so cheap). I strongly recommand Bella Vista Mare for every travellers who want to find a little corner of paradise in Camotes, especially for couples!! When my boyfriend and I went to Camotes in july, the island was really quiet, we thought we were the only tourist on it! You don't really come to Camotes for party, you come to relax.

Was lloking for a place for my family for a nught to stay near Santiago Beach, since Santiago bay garden was already fully booked I came across Bellavista and the owner an Italian who fell in love with the place was so east to talk with, I just texted him to inquire if there was an available room, good for 8 people, luckily the family room was still available and he reserved it for me. No deposits needed you just have to text him back two days before your intended stay to confirm. Upon check in no deposits or payment was asked, I just pay the stay upon check out. They offer breakfast at Php90.00 each, we did not avail as there were lots of restaurants infront of the beach area that offers non breakfast food. I rated 4 because hey don't have internet/wifi.

Me and my hubby always stayed here when-ever we visit camotes because they provide good service and they treat each guest as part of their family!:)
The location of the resort is perfectly situated on a very nice spot of the amazing white sand beach of santiago..I highly recommend the second floor rooms which is also non-aircon room for it has the nicest view, every morning when you step out from this room the beautiful sea will greet you..:)
All rooms is not big not also small but its very clean and cozy, the owner is always there to assist..
All in all excellent location/view, price and service!

Bella Vista Mare is owned by an Italian named Andy (I think) who fell in love with the Philippines. He guided us on how to reach the resort from Consuelo port.
Checking in was fast and simple. Andy and I talked a bit, discussed terms and done, we went to our room. Inclusive was a free breakfast for two.
There are a lot of budget hotels in Santiago beach and Bella Vista provides the best vantage point for a great Santiago beach view. This resort is more of a family guest house with the ambience of home. Our room was clean, that we appreciated much. It has an Aircon, bathroom, towels. Very much basic but cozy. It has the "home" feel. The garden was great for playing with my kid and access to the beach was 5 minutes away.
As travelers, we can feel the "vibe" of a place and this small beach front resort had the feeling of staying in a house and not a resort which is a good thing because we were traveling as a family. Over-all, our stay was great.

House is located next to the beach. nice white beach where you can eat also. Room is very small but it is clean and the bathroom has everything you need. Aircon is good also. Make sure you have someone to pick you up. There are no tricyle nearby. We paid p600 for bring and pick up. We ask a jeepney for a tour. We visit 2 caves and danoa lake for p1500.

A really cozy place, home-like feel and right in front of the beautiful Santiago Beach. The rooms are quite decent for such an affordable price. The shower wasn't that great but not my worst shower in the Philippines either, seeing as how most showers are cold anyways. The owner and the staff are extremely friendly people and very willing to help. I'd recommend this as a great getaway for a couple.

Arriving by ferry at Counsuelo we were met by a young man, sent by the hotel to meet us, who had the idea of taking both my wife and I on one motor bike with our luggage to the hotel!! "No way" was my wife's immediate reaction, so with little delay a van was arranged. It was airconditioned but in a very rundown condition. So after a short but very bumpy and bouncy trip we arrived at Bella Mare Vista at Santiago Beach. (If you have been in Cebu and are familiar with a jeepney then the Camotes version, often more open air, is called a multicab?)
Having high expectations of a place classified by Tripadvisor as “Speciality Lodging” with very positive comments, we were disappointed. Although the hotel is near the beach the view from the downstairs rooms is non-existent.
We were shown into a very small room (entrance to the double bed was from one side) – it was clean and sparsely appointed with a minute bathroom. This was not what we expected and we decided that we would move the following day.
One positive feature is that it is very close to White Beach which has some charming beachside restaurants. We ate at two of them and Nenas was the best. Eating dinner with your feet in the sand on a balmy evening with a pleasant sea breeze is a special experience.
There is also a marine sanctuary close by and although we didn’t snorkel there I assume it would be as good as other sanctuaries in the Philippines.

I've heard of Bellavistamare through blogs. It's one of the most recommended budget-friendly stays. I've no regret for choosing it. It offers one of the best views of the Santiago Bay. At night, when the tide is high, the water doesn't reach its stairs (unlike Santiago Bay Resort) so you can go down to the seaside restaurants below without getting your feet wet.We opted for the fan room because we spent most of the time on the beach or touring Camotes. We settled in the room at night and it was already chilly so the fan was enough. The place is comfy, beautiful and clean and most of all very accesible. I highly recommend it.

We spent two weeks on Camotes Island and stayed at Bella Vista, which we really enjoyed! The rooms were clean and well looked after. The hospitality and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. We can recommend this small resort. The terrace of the resort is overlooking the bay and the beautiful beach. It is a good choice to spend a holiday!

Averagely priced for this island but more expensive than other islands as not too many places to choose from. Lovely location with steep steps down to the beach.
Small clean room with fan was php 950. They do offer aircon at higher price .
No bar but they do offer a Filipino breakfast for an extra charge. Never tried it as we ate next door at the Santiagobeach resort. The food there was pretty average. Breakfast was ok but not a great deal of choice and service was very slow.
Only a 2 min walk to several eating places on the beach.
The beach is beautiful and you do have a seating terrace in the bellavisat where you can sit and watch the goings on on the beach with a nice breeze to keep you cool.
Pleasant and friendly staff who where always helpful.
The internet is excellent compared to the resort next door which was dreadful.
Every night there is a blackout on the beach so all the restaurants and hotels have to use generators which can be noisey. Bring a small torch with you.
Would return.
