The location is near the public market. If you are bringing your car it is exposed to busy market traffic so it is better to request for their indoor parking to keep your car safe. Most draw down for this inn is that there is no hot water shower and their bathroom has no divider curtain. It makes the whole bathrom floor wet when you shower. There is also no closet and the room is quite small. The only plus sign is that it is clean.

As a frequent traveller to San Franz this was my 1st. time here as I was recommended by a friend I was so surprised by how clean ,neat & tidy this place is compared to all others around here its 24 hour desk is great if you arrive late by the bus the staff very friendly they also sell drinks & snacks free wifi ,breakfast and loads of smiles will stay there next time for sure

I have stayed here few times because I was left with no choice. But most of the time, I would have terrible experience. Location is an advantage- the hotel is near the establishments essential to every traveler- banks/atms, public market, drug store, fast food/restaurants are walking distance. But, some cons:
X the rooms are quite small- does not have closets. Most of the rooms have poor lay out, spaces are not maximized to give you convenience.
X If you’re looking for hot showers, don’t look for it here.
X On some nights, you can hear the noises from disrespectful guests loudly conversing with each other along the corridor or common area. Staff at the counter would do nothing about it even if other guests are complaining.
X Recently, key cards are not functioning. No spare key provided. Some rooms have broken doorknobs.
X Wifi not working. Signal in the rooms are weak.
X Some rooms have broken aircon units.
X Rooms are reeking with strong smell of deodorizer enough to give you headache. I was tempted to spray some baking soda on the floor.
X Some staff are not responsive to relevant concerns (like complaints about non-functioning aircon, noisy guests, guidance on room transfers).
X Staff are not wearing face masks at all.
I learned that there are other better hotels in San Francisco so I swear not to go back to HGC Inn ever again.

Friendly staff, easy to locate... very accommodating front office staff. Clean room... Easy access to other government offices... Breakfast is very well served... very comfortable to stay compared to other Tourist Inn.
