Detailed Reviews
Isolated location far from the ports for boats from Cebu and Leyte but without doubt the place to holiday. Preferable for couples and families.
Staff are helpful and for the most part well trained. I arrives just on dark in pain from a pulled muscle in my back. The receptionist was able to give me a pain killer capsule. The next morning it was a 1 hour round trip on a bike to the nearest pharmacy.
Various rooms to choose from. I stayed in a bay view room (8) but 1, 2 and 3 are the better ones for the iconic view over the bay. My room had a double bed and a single with clean linen. Small wardrobe and small table with chair. The aircon unit was old but still efficient and fairly quiet. The cable TV had limited english channels. Lighting was okay. The only power point for recharging was not in a handy position.
The bathroom was compact with the shower separated by a curtain. Hot water was good as was the pressure.
The restaurant has a fairly good menu, service and food both good. I thought the prices were more than reasonable. After having traveled extensively around the Philippines it was so good to find a cook who knew how to make a carbonara.
The receptionist was able to organise all my transport requirements. They did offer breakfast vouchers after the second day of being stranded on the island due to the typhoon tisoy.
Wifi is only available in the lobby area but I believe investing in an internet data package when traveling is always the smart thing to do.

The resort as such is very beautiful, bungalows are immersed in a landscaped garden of local plants, very romantic and peacefully. It is next to the sandy beach where your feet are sinking into a soft ground, very good location! There are 2 pools, the pool next to the restaurant is probably meant for splashing only, as you touch the ground with your knees when you want to swim, but then this should be indicated. You have only a few square meters in a corner with a normal depth, not very clever. The second pool is a bit better, you can swim normally when you remain next to the external border, but more than 2/3th of the pool are meant to sit in the water or to be used by kids only. I can recommand the bungalows which are comfortable, they all have a nice terrace, TV is working well, fridge is there and coffee with water heater are at your disposal. The restaurant provides good food which is reasonably priced, massage is available on request. This resort is a good place to unwind.

This older hotel is built into the cliff overlooking the white sands of Santiago Bay where the shallow waters are ideal for small children and slow walking adults who just want to admire the views and sunsets. For those who wish to swim, there are two infinity pools overlooking the bay. Our room was adequate although a little tired and the whole resort had a slightly utilitarian feel which could benefit from a bit of a makeover. The restaurant had a reasonable menu and service was cheerful. Scooters are available for hire from the front of the resort which makes exploring easy.

+1
I really enjoyed my 4 night stay at this lovely resort. The view is amazing all around here. The staff were all nice. The 2 pools were good although one is only open Friday til Sunday. This is the best location to stay in Camotes as you have good cheap seafood restaurants on the beach nearby to eat at. The only issue would be wifi is very weak in room. I think it should be good all over this resort to make it perfect.

Awesome View. Food is great, big serving. Service is alright. Few things I wont recommend this place though. First, false advertisement regarding wifi. They said free wifi however, it's only available in the lobby. They should be more specific because that waa one of the factor we picked the resort. Second, there is no phone or any intercom in the room to communicate with the front desk. You have to go out and walk to them which is not a short walk. If someone is having a heart attack or having an emergency, they'd probably be dead before they'd get help. Third, we booked for 2 nights but got complimentary coffee for 1 day only, although we asked. Fourth, they are unprepared. Little things, stir sticks/teaspoons and the extra bed we paid for since we booked for 3 adults, were not ready in the room. We had to asked again even though we didn't have to in the first place. Overall, the view of the place and the big serving of food are the ones that stand out.

I was VERY disappointed because we arrived before 2pm and we were accommodated for check in at 3pm when we arrived at the room it was not yet cleaned. We were offer a 10% discount but it was too late! I already full paid the room upon booking and we were about to check out when they offered it. We could have used it on the restaurant. Will never go back again. I would recommend other hotels but not this hotel. Not so accommodating

Very accommodating staff. Very clean and peaceful. During weekdays and it feels like it's exclusively for us. Not crowded and the scenery is very astounding. They offered free side trip and free use of amenities at their sister resort Mangodlong Rock Resort. I am not sure if guests from Mangodlong Rock Resort are free to visit and use the amenities of Santiago Bay Resort. The beach is very wide and you can walk further and still in the shallow part of the sea. I wanna go back there again and would definitely recommend this to anybody else trying to look for a stay in Camotes.

Had a great time at Santiago Bay Garden and Resort. Loved how they have updated the rooms and new bathrooms…they are looking new and contemporary and made our stay so much better. The restaurant continues to serve yummy food and treats. All of the staff have been so nice and friendly and accommodating. Amazing overall. Room fees are very affordable and seniors get a discount too…THANKS to all Santiago people who helped to make our stay so memorable!!

There are good points and bad points. The good: reasonable priced for what you get, both in rooms and food. Clean, nice beach area to explore, large area, nice pools. The bad. The restaurant is open only until seven pm. Likewise, the pools. We checked on about five thirty leaving little time to eat, no time to swim. Strange design . There was a cement column in the middle of the rear area of the room

We had a wonderful stay in this resort, the place is so peaceful and overlooking from the public santiago bay white beach resort, and its just a walk away, you only take the stairs going down. The food is great. You had an option to swim in the pool while its low tide. The beach is really fantastic,we would definitely come back with the whole family..
