Detailed Reviews
The hotel is located in a stunning place with possibilities to enjoy beautiful hiking roads! The Spa area is small so not sure how would this work after covid times, however during our stay was empty so we really enjoyed it.
The view from the outside pool is really breathtaking! Very clean everywhere! Rooms are not so big but very pretty with good decoration!
The only thing we did not enjoy so much was the food during dinner! Very simple and in a way kind of boring! Expected more l! Breakfast was very nice!
One recommendation!!! Please include proper tea cups in the rooms for those who drink tea and not coffee. There is nothing more unpleasant to drink tea from a coffee cup :)
Over all we had great experience and I think for a night or two this place is a gem on earth 😊

One of the best hotels I have visited. Wow. Driving up the curvy road with the sound of cowbells and the mountains and trees as scenery, you know it’s special.
Not the biggest rooms, but nicely set up and outfitted. Bed was quite comfortable. The balcony was wonderful. The cows in the field near provided the soundtrack of cowbells and the view was amazing.
The food was great. Breakfast was delicious. The tray includes meat, cheese, fruit, and jam. You also get a smoothie, muesli, and a basket of breads and other bakery treats. You can also order off a menu including chocolate filled crepes and egg dishes. So tasty and on the terrace with a beautiful view. We also had dinner and the entrees were quite good. Room service was nice enough to bring my dessert separately from the main dishes. So thoughtful!
The gym is small but nicely outfitted (and best feature is you can open the windows!). There is an indoor and outdoor pool. The outdoor pool is hands down one of the best pools I’ve experienced. The views are just gorgeous. There are also multiple seating areas in the pool with bubbles (you can turn on). The outdoor pool is nicely heated so a treat to visit anytime. The pool bar offers wine and beer (in nice pool friendly plexiglass glasses).
You can access multiple very pretty hiking/walking trails right outside the hotel. So nice to wander into the forest and you get some great views at the top.
There is outdoor or garage parking included. Wi-Fi seemed nice and fast.
The staff was all very nice and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will be back!

We purchased the 4 hour spa slot which was 220CHF for 2 people. The views are incredible even driving up! We had a warm welcome and we’re given robes and towels and showed the small but great changing facilities, even walking in you can tell this spa care more about the quality there guest have rather than letting in as many people as possible. This shows also as only 4 people who aren’t staying in the hotel can purchase a slot at either 8am,12pm or 7pm.
There was complimentary water, teas and a option to call for food and more drinks. The pool was amazing not over crowded at all, us and one other couple who had also purchased the spa visit and 2-3 hotel guests. We chose the 8am slot.
The view was foggy but cleared by 10am and was incredible, even without the view the place is amazing and really shows a 5* customer experience.
BEST spa I’ve been too.
Will hopefully be back one day!

Villa Honegg is an intimate 5-star boutique hotel and is by far, speaking from experience, the best in Switzerland and one of the best in the world.
From the warm and welcoming energy of the staff, the impeccable service—anticipating what guests may need so it is offered before you even ask for it—to the otherworldly views at the spa’s pool and your bedroom’s balcony, all the way to the well-curated dishes on the menu.
Hands down, a must experience. Beyond instagramable photos, Villa Honegg felt like coming home.
From their choice of butter at breakfast, to Sonya who greets you and quite literally wakes you up with her jolly energy in the morning, to knowing where the steak is sourced within the community. I felt like this is a real place. A place where you can let go, disconnect from the outside so you can reconnect with your inside. There is magic in Villa Honegg that brought me even closer to my partner.
It’s an absolute couples haven, and also for families and solo retreaters alike. 5 stars! I highly recommend a stay here, especially after a ski trip!
Oh and the lamb chops melt in your mouth like butter and honey.
You can thank me later.
Only the best,
Mr. Raven

Switzerland is beauftiful and has more scenic areas than
the , US. All meals and services were amazing until we came too this hotel. The problem is the rooms are horrible and the services are even more horrible and the worst is the food in the restaurant. We stayed in room 10 and e are still here. I called to front desk several times and asked for iron and iron board which should already ready be in the room especially in $1000 per night room. It took them too long to get the iron and iron board so i went out to a nice restaurant without ironed clothes because ww had a time limit to meet. They don't even answer the phones on time so had to wait almost 30 min each time before they would answer. This is my worst 5 star experience I have ever had. They messed up our luggage and had it in another person's room. Also their restaurant food is horrible. Be aware and don't stay there as services are horrible however the views are amazing. Also the room was too hot so i called front desk again however it took them 15 min to answer. The desk stated they would turn up ac at front desk however this did not happen

We stopped by for a New Year day’s lunch….
It was perfect. The staff excelled in making us feel welcome especially considering that there are so many walkers in the area who all want to drop in too! The wonderful staff had created a kiosk for champagne and snacks for non hotel guests, very very thoughtful! We had an a la carte lunch, the food was delicious as was the Swiss Pjnot Noir we drank. Happy New Year and many thanks to Marcel and his wonderful team.

We stopped by for a cup of coffee in the morning after a hike and the GM and team refused to serve us. The restaurant was empty except for 3 guests. They said we needed a reservation.
Shocking , unbelievable and actually insulting.
Didn’t feel like the amazing Swiss hospitality we are used to. The hotel resort next door is amazing.
I think the team doesn’t care. We spoke to the GM and he said they were planning capacity ! I said the reataurant was empty.
Never felt more unwelcome. Sorry but maybe he was having a bad day. Don’t know but he certainly spoiled ours.

Response from Marcel Hinderer, General Manager at Hotel Villa Honegg
Responded Sep 12, 2021
Dear Madam, Dear Sir Our team has the highest ambition to be very welcoming, professional and treating our guest with the highest level of service and respect. No matter if guests are staying with us as accommodation guests or stopping by during a hike at Mount Bürgenstock. Unfortunately there are times, when our small Boutique Hotel is fully booked and we don't have the capacity to take more guests without a reservation. We kindly explained to you on that day that we were preparing for an arrival of a large group who took up the entire terrace and shortly after arrived. We had signs put up at the front of the hotel which you probably did not see. We understand your frustration as you were looking forward to visit us and I would be delighted to personally welcome you next time. Kind regards, Marcel Hinderer General Manager

We spent 2 lovely nights at this remote, quiet, beautiful hotel.
This mountainside hotel, high above Lake Lucerne offers only 23 rooms.
The rooms are all somewhat different in size, but truly beautifully furnished and opulent. We enjoyed the view from our balcony and seeing and hearing the cows with their bells.
One of the highlights of this hotel, is its 34 degree heated outdoor pool, which can be enjoyed until well into the night. There is a cooler indoor pool that adjoins this outdoor pool.
The food at the hotel was delicious, both breakfast and dinner.
A lovely place to unwind and take in the best of nature.
Would love to return again one day.

Yes so this is definitely paradise even when it rains!! The staff are great, everybody is so great, I forgot my cable for charging my phone and they sorted it. Sonia at breakfast was soooooo friendly. Basically as you drive higher and higher until about 980m, you find yourself in this modern chic hotel with the best views if you get the lake view rooms. And this is not even to mention the SPa and Pool area which deserves a 5 ☆ review of it's own. No words or pics can do it justice. It's so peaceful and it's a stress buster for sure. Indeed this place is definitely not just about the views. Food is great, massage is great. This hotel should be called "The Great Villa Honegg". I will come back for walks and lunches. It's expensive but fully recommend!!!

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a weekend getaway and had a great time. The staff are all very friendly and we enjoyed the two days we spent here. We notified the hotel in advance that we are vegan and they did a great job accommodating this. The cook made amazing vegan pancakes just for us (and we even got the recipe - thanks!) and we were able to select from three different dinner options, including dessert! The food is a bit pricey but the personal touch was worth it to us.
We especially enjoyed the spa and the great view from the outdoor pool. It was never crowded and we actually had the pool to ourselves at one point. The spa area isn't huge but still worth it. Everything is very clean and well-kept.
I can definitely recommend this hotel, especially for couples looking to get away for a few days. The drive up to the hotel and the views from the top of the mountain are absolutely stunning. We will be back.

Hotel Vitznau- opposite side of lake ( also much better )
Lucern- Hotel des Balances
Anytime really. Winter has its charm, with the best sunsets, but summer has the warm weather. Both equally stunning.
