Verry nice restaurant and personnel, This hotel was so warm and cozy, all details with care taken care of, best variety for breakfast.Nice place to stay for a long time to make you feel like home! Definetely will come again here!
This hotel is overpriced and offers none of the amenities you would expect of a four star establishment. I’d booked it based on my very positive experience at the Mercure in Pau. It was disappointing. No pool and no parking. There is a multi-storey car park on the same street but if you drive anything larger than a Smart Car you’ll be stuck for a space. It was also full. The room- advertised as a superior room- was tiny and offered no soap, shampoo, cainditioner, vanity kit or shower cap that was provided in Pau. A bottle dispensing all purpose soap does not count when the overnight price was 194 euros - no breakfast included. Dinner was overpriced. The bar was over priced and over decorated stuffed with endless trinkets.
Had a nice lunch served in pleasant surroundings by friendly staff in Bistro Yonnais on its shady terrace. Hotel looks clean and modern but as always it is the attitude of the staff that make the experience a memorable one.
A very warm welcome from your reception staff. Room perfectly adequate for an overnight stopover. Excellent meal in bistro, friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Good clean property, maybe a little lacking in seating in the room, one plastic chair and a tiny stool! Excellent location for town centre.
En route from St Malo (Ferry) to the south this proved to be an excellent place to stay. Well located in the centre of the town with a secure car park next door. Had an excellent dinner in the outdoor restaurant at the rear. Great food and service and reasonable price. Very pleasant room with all facilities. La Roche sur Yon and its Mercure are well worth a visit.
We have been to this Mercure hotel for the past four years and cannot fault it. The hotel staff all very friendly and cannot do enough to make your stay completely enjoyable. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean and well kept as the the rest of the hotel. The buffet breakfast offers a wide choice to eat to start your day. The hotel has a restaurant attached if you want to eat in the hotel or there is a number of other good restaurants close by. Park on the street nearby (payant) which is free overnight and at midday not in the adjacent multi story car park which is expensive. We will certainly be going back to this Mercure hotel again next year.
1st time at Mercure La Roche. Nice welcome by Laure at Front Desk. Overall staff was very friendly, courteous, and professional: Front Desk: Audry & Iyadh and Breakfast: Vanessa & Team. Breakfast had plenty of variety, including eggs, bacons, sausage, fruits, cereal, croissants, etc. For dinner they have an outside section in the back of the hotel which was nice. Also the Bistro (connected to the hotel) is open on Monday when many other restaurants are closed. Room was clean and could not hear the noise of the street (double windows). Only issue was the AC was not cooling. It seems like it is more of a fans vs. AC and room was more on the warm side. If you have a car you can next door 1 to 2 minute walk in the garage, which cost 2 Euros /night. There is an Laundromat about 8 to 10 minute walk (Next to Theater) if you are staying longer time and do not want to use their dry cleaning service. The hotel is a 7 to 10 minute walk to the Napoleon Plaza. Plenty of choices of restaurants within a 5 to 15 minute walking distance from Mercure. Overall good stay and would return to Mercure La Roche.…
It’s a few years since we stayed at this Mercure and I’m delighted to say that standards have been maintained, from reception arrival to departure. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The car park, next door, is convenient (as long as you can negotiate the road system for the entrance!) and reasonable at 5€ a day. If you give your parking ticket to reception as you leave, they will deal with the charge and give you an exit ticket. Literally just round the corner you have access to La Roche shops, restaurants and the delightful place Napoleon which is well worth a visit when the automatons are working, and a relaxing stroll if not. The hotel breakfasts were good too.
The hotel is clean and brand new inside, but the rooms are way way overheated at night. Couldn't get the aircon to work. Make sure this is sorted if you go during summer. Restaurant is ok, not great, just ok. Service was too long, but that's somehow something France doesn't seem to be concerned about
Our overall experience was good. However room 114 was next to the staff elevator and was noisy. Also the staff offices were close by and you could also hear staff walking around in heals at approx 7/730am most mornings and unfortunately this did wake us up. The hotel restaurant was very good with a special mention to Oliver who was more than attentive every evening offering us recommendations and was very friendly. We also found the bar to be closed occasionally when we returned after a long day and fancied a drink, this was very disappointing. We were not advised before arrival that the main restaurant and bar would be closed on Easter Sunday,I feel this should of been pointed out prior to arrival and on check in. The breakfast was very good and the terrace outside was lovely. I would recommend this hotel for a good base to La Roche Sur Yon you can walk into main town in approximately 10 mins. …
