#3 of 5 hotels in Saluzzo
Set in the middle of an English-style park between Cuneo and Saluzzo, Castello Rosso, an ancient abode of the aristocracy dating back to the 15th Century, has returned to life, offering moments of peace in harmony with life, in an environment steeped in history. The Castle, which includes a hotel, restaurant, Meeting Center and Beauty Center, is far removed from noise and pollution, and is the ideal place to spend some pleasant days of work and/or vacation. The quality of service and minute attention paid to every detail makes every trip to Castello Rosso rich with style and comfort, with that little extra 'something' which makes a guest feel as if they were in their own home.

Castle feels... big rooms and bathroom, beautiful gardens with pool but unfortunately the pool isn’t clean and is not heated so even in the height of summer, it’s way too cold. The restaurant is expensive but amazingly good. We payed more on the restaurant than the hotel stay itself. Good room view but mosquitoes are everywhere, not surprising in summer though. Otherwise comfortable stay.

This hotel has been one of my better stays in Italy. An excellent hotel overlooking the Saluzzo town on an hill with great views all around. The hotel a pretty lawn for morning and evening walks. The rooms are decently sized and bedding excellent. The restaurant serves great local cuisine and we had all our meals at the restaurant. A must stay if you are in the Saluzzo

Situated on a hillside overlooking the valley below, this hotel is grand. Large, clean and quiet rooms and beautifully appointed common rooms, lots of character and a pool and spa. Staff friendly and helpful. Dinner menu was good and the hotel has a nice bar.

I stayed at Castello Rosso for a week in November 2017 whilst participating in an English language immersion programme for Italians. The hotel is in a lovely hillside location within easy walking distance of the sleepy little town of Saluzzo di Costiglione and my cosy and luxurious room overlooked the disused abbey nearby, a stunning view. In November there were red and golden trees aflame and the sun shone every day, the evening chill was easily offset by the hotels central heating. As an Anglo I was impressed with the food, 5 courses were served at lunch and dinner and the buffet breakfast offered exceptional choice. (In fact I couldn't choose, sampled nearly everything and carried the evidence of my dolce vita home around my midriff!) Some areas of the building could have done with a little TLC but when you have a Bechstein grand in an old fashioned ballroom to bust out tunes on, faded upholstery can be overlooked : ) The staff were welcoming and accommodating, there was only one less than cheerful member of the team and who knows what sad story may have lain behind his solemn demeanour! All in all, the location was stunning and peaceful, the building quirky and imaginatively designed and there was a small gymn and spa facilities on site, ideal for a retreat style break but I wouldn't expect much nightlife in the vicinity, unless you brought your own, in which case party on!
