Really nice place. Friendly & kind staff. Easy check-in. Very clean. Off street private parking in a garage. Stocked mini fridge in the room and a little kitchen. Lovely balcony. Really good value. I would highly recommend. We will definitely be returning:)
We stayed in Hotel Excelsior Monfalcone for only one night on our way to Ligurian Riviera. All in all, our impressions were good because the room was clean and comfortable enough with a balcony and a small kitchenette, our car was safely parked in the inner court, and we liked the breakfast room. The breakfast was perfect for us and had everything we are used to - good coffee, freshly baked pastries, orange juice, muesli, milk, cheese, etc. Just opposite the hotel there is a lovely seafood restaurant where we had amazing dinner. The only hiccup was that we failed to get a map when we asked for it at the reception desk - usually it's a must even at small family-run aparthotels. The town centre is just round the corner but the whole neighborhood didn't look very safe to us - there were crowds of immigrants that's why we returned to the hotel quite soon.…
We needed somewhere last minute to stay on our way to Croatia and we found Hotel Excelsior. It was excellent value for money and the staff friendly and helpful. Decor a bit old fashioned but everywhere clean and breakfast included. Perfect for what we needed.
I found the reception and breakfast staff very helpful. I stayed here for 7 nights on business and it was in an ideal central location for me. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. There were lots of working men staying here which meant that an early breakfast was quite crowded. It was quite noisy as you could hear people through the walls and walking around on the floor above. Another problem was the lack of sockets near the desk area to plug in the laptop but they found me an extension lead and it worked out fine. The breakfast was OK by Italian standards - not quite what Brits are used to but better than some places I've stayed. All in all it was a pleasant stay and I have no complaints.
The hotel looked marginally better on the inside than the website suggested. However, when I arrived to a seemingly empty hotel and requested a room on an upper floor, since I was there on business and didn’t want to be disturbed, I was told the hotel was ‘fully booked’. A very quiet night, which was great, and just 4 people at breakfast. Maybe the other guests are due to arrive today? No. The hotel remained very empty indeed during my 4 night stay and it was clear that the hotel was not full, or even busy! Breakfast was overseen by some very unsmiling women who didn’t even attempt to say good morning Not bad the whole experience but could do a whole lot better
