Its dominating position allows the best view of the Western Sicily with the sea, Egadi Islands, and the Natural Reserve of the Stagnone up to Mount Erice. Very good food. Small room for 3 people. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast and wonderfull setting. Small and a bit boring pool area. Very clean. Not very luxerious. Felt more as a nice four star resort than five star. We stayed 3 nights and were happy to go as not much to do besides wine tasting and pool.

This hotel sure thing has succeeded with their marketing. When looking at their homepage it looks like a tranquil luxury resort with few rooms and with focus on service and luxury in a countryside retreat. The location is indeed beautiful with nice views over land and sea. However it is a gigantic complex, which we could see just by driving up to the hotel with the different parking areas, P1, P2, P3 like at an airport... Coming into the reception three members of staff merely stand there looking at us as if they wondered what we where doing there. Our room was not available even though we arrived 3.15pm. We were told that our room would be available at 4pm, which it also was. However, our luggage was not inside the room when we got there. I had to call for it and it took around 30 min to get it there. The room was however very nice and with a great view. There were not so much food options in the bar beside the pool, we got some boring toast for 6€. Talking about food, we had pre-booked a three-course dinner when booking the room. We also booked a time slot upon check-in. When we finally found the restaurant and were seated we despite that had to wait 45 min before the starter was served... We did not even get any bread when being seated. The following dishes arrived a bit faster though. The red wine was very warm (room temperature). There was a big wedding hosted in the hotel in the same night so we suspect that the staff had been told to focus on those guests instead of us. The food was okay, but no sensation as I actually expected from this kind of hotel. Breakfast was served outside in the court yard. Very nice setting and a lot food items to choose from and even prosecco. However, yet again the service did not work. They had a chef making omelettes etc, but we had to ask for our order three times before we gave up. They did not carry it to our table when it was ready. We could obviously not stand waiting for 15 min. The wine tasting was however very nice and all credits to Mauro leading it. Very nice person with a sense of humor. But the tour in the winery was a bit of a joke. Nothing there that reminds of a winery, no vineyards, no production and no wine cellar store house to be seen as I had expected from similar experiences in South Africa and Spain. All in all, a mainstream experience of the hotel and food as such and not worth the money. The service level needs to be increased a few steps to earn four stars, let alone to earn five. Upon check-out the person in the reception noted that we had issues with our room. She did however not offer us any compensation, so I asked if we at least could get a bottle of wine for the trouble and we did. However not the one we liked, but a 4€ cheaper one.

Sometimes pictures and ratings can be "lying" but not here. Really an amazing place where you enjoy each evening the sunset from either the bar or your room if you choose one of the rooms with sea view which we highly recommend. Service in this place is unique. All staff are extremely polite and well educated in what it means to give the best service - friendly and ready with a smile and doing utmost to make you feel comfortable. Breakfast was included and was really overwhelming. From yoghurt, cheese, ham, bread, eggs by order in the restaurant, fruit etc. etc. We always ended eating too much.... Restaurant has a brilliant menu with big focus at good ingredients, being organic and always with information about allergens. Meals are Italian/Sicilian with a modern twist. Maybe only small thing that could be different. We missed a bit the simple, Italian cooking that just by the ingredients themselves can give you an amazing experience. But still a very nice restaurant you must try if you come here. We will definitely come back one day when we re-visit Sicily.

This is a lovely hotel on top of a hill overlooking the countryside down to the sea and the islands offshore. It is based around an old manor house with new rooms attached that look sympathetic and it's bigger than it looks at first. There's a massive extension to one side that's clearly for weddings and other sorts of large functions but it doesn't really impact on the intimate feel of the rest of the hotel. Our deluxe room was newly decorated in a nice bright blue, with a nice balcony overlooking the sea but was quite sparsely furnished. The bathroom was freshly decorated but cramped and very dated. However the shower was incredibly powerful, which was great, and both the towels and bed linen were excellent and replaced daily. Meals are served in the central ancient Courtyard which is absolutely lovely and quite romantic at night and the bar overlooks the sea and is perfect for sunset cocktails. Breakfast was very good - they are still offering a buffet and there was plenty of choice and they had gone to some effort to avoid any cross-contamination. Service was great and coffee was plentiful and easily replenished. The main dinner menu was rather too fussy for our tastes but they also offered a typical menu which was much better value and was excellent. Sadly, there were no specials offered daily so it didn't change and was very repetitive by our third evening. As others have said, Marsala is a half-hour drive away so not really suitable for dinner and many of the restaurants were shut due to Covid. We were a little disappointed by their Covid preventative measures, although they make a great play of it, we noticed that the tables weren't sanitised before people sat down, the menus were handed around and not disposable and there was very little hand sanitiser in evidence. That said, it was better than most other places we visited in Sicily!

We renovated all the rooms this year so we are very happy to know how much they are appreciated! Also, our restaurant is very important for us, since it's the main means through which to share our culture with you! We also take COVID very seriously, and we apply all the preventative measures so that both the guests and the staff can be exposed to zero risks. We wish you the best and we hope to see you back soon! Thank you, Best regards.
