Marcello and Paola run this lovely B&B perched on a hill overlooking the bay of Lipari and the Aeolian Islands archipelago. They create a friendly and warm atmosphere, in which people were encouraged to interact and get to know each other. Moreover, Marcello and Paola were always happy to help or advise. Their attention to details is all around you, from the curated garden, to the rooms, to the delicious homemade breakfast dishes to be enjoyed on the terrace.
With a warm welcome from Marcello, we felt immediately „at home away from home“. Marcello and Paola were exceptional hosts, paying attention to any need a guest might have. We enjoyed a freshly made breakfast each morning on the terrace with the wonderful view of their garden and the sea. Paola’s creations in the kitchen were delicious, using a lot of ingredients from their kitchen garden. The room (Grecale) was small but very cosy, equipped with anything you might need (hair dryer, umbrella, scissors, tea kettle). There is also a mosquito net at the door (a life saver!). The house is located on the hillside, away from the noisy streets. If you are looking for a homely place of stay instead of an anonymous hotel, the B&B al Salvatore is the place to go on Lipari.
We had an amazing time at "Al Salvatore b&b". It’s a beautiful villa surrounded by a well curated garden and a stunning view of the sea. We stayed in the room "Tramontana" which is fully equipped with all the you need and with a high level of cleanliness. The owners welcomed us in such a warming way, giving us all the info about the island and suggestions of where to go. Everyday was a pleasure to talk with Paola & Marcello and get to know the history of the island and also their personal one. Extra bonus for the breakfast with fresh local product:). Highly recommended!
Al Salvatore is the perfect island getaway, a little bit out of Lipari town. The views are amazing, looking over Lipari, Vulcano and the ocean. In the evening it is a good place to spot stars while enjoying a glass of Marcello’s and Paola’s delicious wine. And the nearby beach is good for snorkling. But the best thing about this place are Paola and Marcello. From the moment he picked us up from the ferry, Marcello helped us to make the most out of our stay. And Paola makes the best breakfast you will have on your holiday, with fruits out of their own garden and homemade marmelades. Lipari is a good base for visiting the surrounding islands. It is handy to rent a scooter or car to explore the island of Lipari.
I had planned to stay there for three nights because other than that the rooms were already fully booked. However, I loved the place so much and Marcello and Paola made it possible so that I could stay additional two nights which I am very thankful for. The view is amazing, the food is all self-grown and self-made and the hosts are incredibly knowledgeable and are happy to share their knowledge over Lipari. Whenever you need something, you can just message Marcello and he responds very quickly. It feels more like a homestay than a bed and breakfast. I will definitely come again as this is the perfect mix between having privacy and room to relax or be creative and getting together with amazing people.
