Pretty basic hotel. The room Is quite small but very nice big balcony. Lobby area and bar is nice. The pool area isn’t very lavish or stylish just very very basic. Could do with some renovation with rooms and hallways.i I would expect it to be 3 stars in terms of overall decor and facilities. However this gets high high marks on location. It’s the centre of the new and old town and beach too. Everything is so commutable from here you are in the heart of grado in this hotel. 5 star location.
I simply love Fonzari. This gem has gorgeous rooms with most having a large balcony which you can enjoy a glass of wine and watch the street below . The pool on the roof top is nice to lay out and enjoy some of the stunning views available. Breakfast has a good amount to offer but since it has changed to the main floor instead of the 7th floor it does feel cramped and can be loud. The hotel can reserve your beach chairs but get this done early. Should be some more staff that speak English to assist the Canadian visitors. This is a gem hotel and love how it is right in the centre.
Hello, Hotel Fonzari is in the middle of Grado and is placed into a peaceful area closed to traffic. If you are a guest, the hotel is reachable by car. Grado is an isle so air is clean and not wet. At reception two kind girls , Roberta and Selina, will be glad to give you any informations. You can choose to dine in hotel paying 18 euro for standard menu. There is a very skilful chef ; the quality of food is good, so good that sometimes I have desired more quantities of food in the dishes referring about the standard menu. The panoramic restaurant is on the 7 floor near the swimming pool. The restaurant has also a menu "a la carte" available to everybody whith different prices. The hotel is three hundred metres far from the GIT beach where you enter with only card ; there is another beach, at south without card, named "spiaggia costa azzurra". Rooms are silent, clean and confortable exept for the third bed. The third bed is a sofa that become very uncomfortable when used as a bed. It looks like like a bent curved sledge where you can sleep only if you are a child. All Junior suite have this sofa exept a few wide apartments. There is a wide gym and covered garage. Have a nice holiday at Fonzari.…
I've stayed in mid-size (5th floor) two-room suites (as nearly all rooms are) for several weeks at a time. Most suites have extremely large terraces, many also have sea views, which are not easy to get in this town. Lobby is small but the breakfast is outstanding with very friendly service. The rooftop restaurant is worth a dinner even if you are not staying in the hotel and it has, along with the bar and pool up there, the best views in Grado. You can not beat this location, in the center of town, in a pedestrian zone and on historic piazza, which has Late Antique ruins, and not 100 yards from the water. Easily better than most a four-star hotels in Italy (though somehow it only has three).
A lovely hotel that has sadly gone down hill. The rooms we had were very old fashioned, i believe some of the smaller rooms have been modernised. My Husband booked a suite as he thought it was going to be lovely treat for my birthday unfortunately it wasn't. It says the hotel is air-conditioned, when we asked why it wasn't working in our room apparently the whole hotel had it turned off. The staff who worked up on the roof terrace are rude! The receptionist and the breakfast staff were very efficient.
Booked room with a view of sea and twin beds. Got room with no view of sea. And double bed and horrible fold out couch. Breakfast was very good. Restaurant menu was limited, but didn't matter, plenty of great restaurants within blocks. Location was great. Very friendly and helpful staff.
The environment is just great, expetialy the view from the terrace with the pool the bar and the restaurant makes it one of a kind. Definitely I'll plan my next business appointments and also a weekend with family.
The location could not be any better, the rooms are very nice and modern and actually kind of spacious. The balconies are very spacious as well. We had a reservation that clearly stated "sea view", our room did not have sea view, when we went to the reception to discuss this, the receptionist (young lady, pony tail) treated us very rudely and told us that indeed we had sea view, when all we saw was roofs (pretty red roofs, but no blue water). We ended up switching rooms to a much smaller one with a little bit of sea view. We were happy with the room. The pool needs to be repainted, the pool walls have scum. The rooms need instructions posted on how to use the electricity (a card or piece of paper needs to be stuck into a slit), as well as the safe (enter code twice) and as to how to exit the garage. The maintenance man was very helpful. The breakfast staff as well as cleaning staff were very nice and efficient as well.…
Booked for 2 nights. Room is modern and wooden floored. Silent, staff friendly and welcoming. Parking is also available and in Grado this is a MUST. Breakfast was ok, nothing extraordinary but fine. Having a boiler and some tea in the room would be a great plus.
Excellent location on the edge of the old town and literally 2 mins walk to the nearest part of the beach Very helpful and friendly multilingual staff. Good breakfast selection. Hotel modern and clean. Grado itself is a hidden gem well worth the visit.
