What a great place! Super clean and all new. The family is so welcoming and helpful. We will definitely come again! The terrace is such a lovely place to enjoy the lagoon in the evening. The market is only a few minutes away and the beach and old town is a quick walk away. Very convenient and just an all around pleasure!
The hotel owners, Marika and her husband, are doing an amazing job leading their hotel. The cleanliness, the comfort, the friendliness, the tips. Just perfect! My stay was more than pleasurable. The croissant and capuccino in the morning made my day (no breakfast buffet, Covid). If you manage to find an empty room (Hotel Carol is always fully booked), don't hesitate. Book immediately and enjoy!
Good position - calm and quiet but close to city centre. Owner very nice and helpful we felt like we visited our aunt for holidays ;) We missed a little fridge in a room - would be helpful in summer... Must say it was superclean!
Here at the Hotel Carol, the proprietors create a warm, welcoming environment in which the guests truly feel at home, as if they are part of the family. All one needs to do is to witness the proprietors making the rounds at breakfast speaking with each of the guests. The rooms are comfortable and ideal for a holiday at the seaside.
I have been on holiday in Italy this summer and I've been suggested this hotel from a friend who stopped there for a week the year before. The hotel is conducted by a very friendly family which could become more like a good friend than a receptionist, they helped us with all of our trips around the island they were always ready ro book for us the restaurant just making a call from the room, it was just like to reside in a 5 stars hotel spending a small fraction. Honestly I would recommend this hotel to all my friend who wish to have an holiday in this small but beautiful island.
The hosts of this hotel were the most professional and efficient hoteliers I have encountered. They anticipate every need and furnish what you need without asking. The nicest, kindest most hardworking family. The room had a lovely view of the harbor and two or three blocks the other way was the beach. They offered several suggestions for fantastic reasonable restaurants and suggested routes to the attractions we wanted to see. They furnished us with maps to keep and edited them to help us find our way to restaurants and attractions. The breakfast was extra but phenomenal. So many options that you could not try them all. Fresh fruit, like figs, pineapple and kiwis, breakfast canapés so beautifully presented. Baked goods and an impressive espresso machine. I would go back many times if I could. Unforgettable experience.…
I found Hotel Carol based on reviews via Trip Advisor itself and I was not disappointed! The hotel is located within 5 minutes walk from the beach and about 10 minutes walk from the Grado city centre itself. Just outside the hotel is a beautiful view of the marina and neighbouring islands/marshlands - very picturesque! The service at the hotel is fantastic! The guy at the reception counter was very friendly and shared with us tips on getting around, good food and what to do, etc. Very helpful since we were only there for an overnight trip and had not done any planning beforehand. Our double room was basic and clean - but the bed was big! And we had a nice balcony overlooking a side road. Even though the hotel is situated on a busy main road, we couldn't hear the traffic once the windows are closed (not very convenient for summer but there's a ceiling fan in the room to keep the temperature down!) If I were to go to Grado again, I would definitely stay at this place!…
Very nice hotel, situated almost in the centre of Grado. The hotel is not the newest one, however has its own character. It was clean with great staff. The owners were absolutely great. We had a lovely stay. I can only recommend this place.
Very nice hotel in a good position - close to the beach and not far to the centre. Nice view to the lagoon, maybe a bit too loudy with open windows. Clean and safe. Single room has everything you need. Very helpfull and friendly owners. Car park on site and also along the street.
We just had one night in late September here. The owner/managers were very attentive and friendly. Our room was at the back and was very clean, everything worked but it was a little dated. Nice 2nd floor public terrace overlooking the lagoon good for an evening drink. Breakfast varied and plentiful in pleasant dining room also overlooking the lagoon. Free private parking at the rear of the hotel. A short and mainly pedestrianised walk into the centre and the beaches - for a bath-like swim in the Adriatic. WiFi range in the hotel could be improved to reach the room we were in. On this brief encounter Grado reminded us a bit of the the 70's "Prisoner" TV series village!
