Best thing about this hotel is definitely the indoor saltwater swimming pool on the 3rd floor which is large and sits under a beautiful roof of heavy wooden beams and glass panels. There’s also a lovely sun deck on the 4th floor. Otherwise it’s centrally located, near the beach and in the quiet pedestrianised area on the edge of the historic district so very convenient for bars and restaurants. Breakfast is unremarkable but charmingly they label a reserved table for your stay with your name and a greeting in your native language. Some rooms have balconies although there’s no sea view. Corridors recently decorated but our room’s decor was a little tired here and there and bathroom was small (plenty of space in room however). Double bed was two singles zipped together so a bit annoying but very comfortable. Large gap under bedroom doors mean little soundproofing with corridor but not a big problem as it’s generally a quiet place. Lounge/bar area is rather staid but there are lots of livelier places a short walk away. We enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful stay as usual. It’s very clean and everyone is very welcoming. We hope to come again next year. The breakfast is very nice and varied and they try very hard considering the current COVID situation. All in all definitely worth a visit.

This was my second visit at Abbazia Hotel. We stay here for two nights on our way home from vacation with couple od Friends. Rooms were clean and spacious, we enjoyed roof pool (very decent size), breakfast was excellent and tasty. Gentelman who worked by the station was very efficient and did not have to wait too long for your food. Entire team is very professional and service here is great as always. Facility is in great location, very close to the beach, shops and restaurants. If you are looking for nice and relaxing time Abbazia Hotel is the place for Grado stay. See you again and thanks for your hospitality.

This lovely hotel with old world charm is clean with a nice sized room and beautiful bathroom. The staff are very attentive and professional. Parking is extra 15euro per day. We parked down the street as we stayed on a couple nights. Love the huge salt water pool and free bikes to tour around town! Would return again in a heartbeat!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Abbazia. The hotel is a short walk from the bus station and just one block from the seaside. The reception staff are very helpful and speak excellent English, which was useful as we don’t speak Italian. Our room was spacious with a lovely balcony. We enjoyed the sea water pool and the breakfast was excellent - the best we have had in Italy so far. Great value!

The Hotel is a 4 star hotel, but we probably got the poorest and smallest room that doesn`t suit a 4 star hotel. The Bathroom was really small and uncomfortable, nowhere to putour things, and so small that only one person could be there at the time. The shower cabinet was « so out of date». The Breakfast was a bit below averaged for a 4 star hotel. The personal in the breakfastroom was not very helpful, and had an anoying facial expression. It is never wrong to smile now and then, but they never did. Also it took time to check in, because they could not find our reservation. And when we checked out, their bankterminal didn`tt take our credit card, even though we had used them during our stay in Grado and also at other hotel after leaving Abbazia.in other places. The location though is nice and near the sea. But overall we will never stay at this hotel again.

Visited this lovely hotel with a large party of 70. The staff are lovely and friendly, couldn't do enough for us. Personally as a ceoliac they looked after me despite having such a large party to provide evening meals for. Hotel has a great swimming pool and sun terrace, it is in a great location. Thank you to all the hotel staff for a fantastic trip

It has plenty of that and a little bit of new world efficiency. The rooms are simple and comfortable if a little old fashioned by modern standards, particularly in the bathroom department. The balconies, though small, are welcome. The indoor pool is wonderful as is the rooftop sun terrace. Breakfast is efficient and of enough variety to get you going in the morning. The staff are excellent particularly the front of house team. As an English person one has to get used to being mistaken for Austrian, though with a little persistence the breakfast team eventually get the message. The hotel is very centrally placed which is excellent. There must be some negatives, which there are, none of them frustrating or serious but if corrected could improve the stay. I have mentioned the dated bathrooms, in addition, the beds have a tendency to migrate across the room during the night. The language issue is somewhat irksome but as 75% of the clientele are from Germanic speaking countries it's hardly surprising. Coffee making facilities either in each room or at least on each floor would be a nice touch as would shower gel in the pool area. An honesty bar at the sun terrace too would be great. There is car parking but your manoeuvring skills need to be top notch especially if trying to tuck your small rental car beside a Teutonic monster vehicle! Bicycles are free to use, which is excellent and above all the calm family run atmosphere and 'can and will do' attitude of the staff make this a good choice of hotel. I hope as gradually more UK people come to Grado they'll seek out the Abbazia as it's a safe bet.

We stayed overnight at this establishment and found it good value for money. The rooms where clean, with good linen and toiletries. Breakfast was good with hot eggs options. Indoor pool. Very central. Friendly reception. We would recommend this Hotel for holiday makers or as a stop over. Close to the beach.
