This hotel is in need of a bit of modernisation and decoration. But, the price reflected this and we didn't really mind walking to another hotel for breakfast while the sun was shining. It is very clean, the staff are so friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay despite the basic accommodation. A great plus point is having the pool which has a small area for sunbeds etc but will do for a little swim. The roof solarium gets busy very quickly and it is a shame it closes in the evening
Vacation with one year old son, rooms are small enough, but clean, except the room walls - full of killed insect. Bathroom including shower, toilet and also clean enough. Restaurant for breakfast great also for little ones. Swimming pool in the hotel didn’t try, but was cleaned every day, sea was much better. Hotel Touring is across the street and has much bigger rooms, but with pool and possible all inclusive.
We stayed in Villa d'Este for 3 nights with a 4 months old baby, and it was great. The rooms are ok for the price range, really no big disadvantages. There is a fridge, AC, TV,.. really everything you need. It's an older bulding that's where the small disadvantages comes from, but they are really not even worth of mentioning them (a squeaking balcony door is actualy the only one :)) All the personel is very frendly and helpfull, they fulfilled our every little wish. The hotel is in a quiet part of the town, just close enough to the city centre and to the free beach. The main beach (you have to pay entrance fee there) is a few minutes walk, the city center and a free beach is approx. 10 min away by foot. You have free bicycles to rent in the hotel too. There is a nice jacuzzi on the top terrace and a pool outside. The food is very good (the breakfast is in Villa d'Este, the lunch and dinner in Hotel Touring (a few meters away). You have a supermarket, a farmacy and restaurants really close to the hotel. In a few words: we got much more than we expected.…
At checking in, they had got us down for the wrong hotel (there is a sister hotel Hotel Touring which you check in at) however this was resolved and we stayed in Villa d este. Had to wait for our room to be ready but we didn't mind we took full advantage of the sun loungers outside! Got into our room a lovely one at the front with a balcony - very clean room. Enjoyed the sun for the rest of the afternoon & also had a welcome drink on behalf of the hotel. We walked into the centre for food and it was a lovely walk not too far. Free Wifi was also included in the rooms. Breakfast (over at the Touring due to an event) was brilliant lots of fruit, yogurt, cheese and cakes. During the day we went to the roof terrace and enjoyed the sun from the top of the hotel - it was fantastic. You have a great view of Grado and there is even a hot tub ! Thank you for a great stay…
Grado itself is a beautiful place. It´s an island, and i am sure, the best in the whole region. It´s not comparable to places like Lido di Jesolo or Lignano, but much more nicer! There are not so many tourists and the architecture looks great in the Old City. The Villa d´Este has nice rooms, a small swimming pool, good staff, and my room had a small balcony. Air condition was fine. The prices are totally OK, and it´s no problem to take your dog with you. In Grado there is even a special beach for dogs. I recommend this hotel and will stay there once more when i come back to Grado. We came with a car which you can park in the hotel area.
