We went on an Alpe-Adria Biking tour and were looking to stay for a couple of nights in Grado at the end of the tour. The hotel exceeded our expectations: the lobby and the rooms look recently updated, very clean, spacious and comfortable to be in. Excellent breakfast, with all options typical for a German/Austrian hotel (ie musli, and a large variety of cold cuts and breads, also excellent fruit). The room was spacious, good price/quality value and we even had our own balcony. We recommend it warmly to anyone in Grado.
Really reasonablely priced lovely hotel in the picturesque town of Grado . Staff was really nice and helpful . Family owned and well maintained . Rooms are typical European 3star size - clean , well appointed and bright . Our room had a little balcony with French doors - view was unspectacular but it was a nice place to sit and relax. Bathroom clean and had all necessary equipment. Central air with no room control and it was off which made the room a bit warm but the staff brought us a fan which helped immensely . Not on the sea promenade but only a short 8-10 min walk away . Great restaurants close . Breakfast was good with many choices . Not really set up for bike storage but they accommodated our two bikes well . The family staff was so very pleasant and the price was really good for the area - we will return next year to the "Little Venice" on the Adriatic Sea .…
Staying at the Hotel Merano was a wonderful experience during my recent visit to lovely Grado. From the moment I walked in the door, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. And that lasted my entire stay at this hotel. The manager Annalisa sets the warm tone and front desk staff such as Emanuela follow suit. The room with balcony and bathroom was great and looked pretty with its calming wall mural. And it had air conditioning which was needed as I was there during a heat wave. I loved the breakfast. The croissants were fresh, there were Darbo jams, a fine assortment of teas, and many other tasty selections. The hotel is located just a few minutes from the beach and about a twenty minute walk from the center of Grado. It is also a great location to bicycle from as it is in the middle of Grado Island. The only negative at all I could find at this place was that the WIFI constantly slipped in and out of connectivity. Otherwise I can assure that this is a hidden gem among the multitude of hotels on the island of Grado and it is an awesome value for money. The friendliness of the staff is also something I will long remember.…
We paid 120 euro (plus 5 for 24h parking, which was great, because we just walked to the beach) for a room with 1 double bed and a bunkbed for the kids. Breakfast was included - the usual fiberless Italian stuff, but there was some fruit and brown bread, as well as plain yoghurt for the health conscious. Kids liked the croissants and flavored yoghurts. Only corn flakes, no other cereal. Lady very helpfully let us in at 8.30 pm, despite our being late for check-in. All staff very nice and helpful. The interior is so retro, it'll soon be hip again. Bed a bit hard, but all fine for the rest: clean and good amenities. There is a little bistro across the road from the parking, which serves good food, but its a short stroll into town or to the beach, with more choice.
We had been travelling around Itlay and had been staying in B&B's and were very tired so we decided to spend a little extra for this (I think it was rated a 4 star ) hotel. It was the end of the season and there was not alot of staff on hand. One lady working the desk. The building is quite dated. Our room was VERY small, mismatched and dated, the wall paper was peeling from the wall. Our bathroom was unbelievable small and hard to explain the floor had a grate on the floor and you showered in front of the sink, toilet, I twisted my foot brushing my teeth as I balanced on the floor grate. Would not be suitable for an elderly person or child. It was really nothing special...we had stayed in B& B's for MUCH less and had more space and service. We asked for ice and had to wait 24 hours for them to make it. There was no staff at night and we were given a ke to get in and out of the hotel. Really was a BIG disappointment, unsure if the busy season was better service but even then the rooms were BAD. I would rate it as a 1 star…
