Fantastic experience from the moment we stepped onto the private transfer plane and were transported to the hotel. Beautiful grounds with stunning rooms and facilities. The views over the sea and the forest are spectacular and the staff are amongst the friendliest and most efficient I've ever see. The food is first calls and Jacks Bar is not to be missed - there's even a free shuttle to take you there but if you fancy a walk it's only 20 minutes - nothing too challenging and all safe to walk. I really can't rate this highly enough. It does take a bit of co-ordination to get there but if you contact the hotel directly they'll advise you how to stitch it all together - it all revolves around flight timings as the transfer plane can't land after sunset. We opted to have an overnight in Barbados then flew out the next afternoon which worked out well. Thanks to all the staff for a brilliant stay! I'd advise you to do a bit of research into the dining options - we had a bit of confusion over ours which was sorted out but the reality is that there's not that many places apart from the hotel (including Jacks Bar which is part of it) and Port Elizabeth for food. You'll probably end up eating in the hotel at least a few times as it's so good! So if you don't want to travel to eat and drink then the AI might just be worth it - by the time we'd totted it all up it worked out about even but it depends how much you want to indulge! Lovely hotel on a great little island!

Hotel's Favorite
Great place to stay with amazing attentive and caring staff especially Ms Rima Ali (Guest Services) who sorted out my pre and post arrival and departure protocols. Very helpful. General ambience is warm and welcoming and also found fellow guests entertaining and friendly. If enough guests join and contribute Rima can arrange a half day or whole day motor yacht charter (m/y Star of the Sea). This is where you get to know some of the other guests and have an entertaining time. Enjoyed a ten day stay in a junior plantation suite. Food was of a high standard and it’s worth mentioning that there is also a small Italian Restaurant up some steps which although with a slightly limited menu was a favourite of mine. Waitress Raynella and waiter Ezra were really charming. Returned to London via Barbados and travelled on Bequia Air from Bequia. Short flight but their handling agent in Barbados , Executive Air Ltd., were extremely helpful escorting us to the front of the queues and on to the BA check in Desk with luggage. First class service. Am travelling to Barbados again by yacht in November but will avoid staying there and make straight for Bequia Beach Hotel which was so much fun.

Just back from my second stay at Bequia Beach Hotel and absolutely loved it. The hotel is intimate, friendly and super-relaxing. The staff strive to please and are a credit to the property. The accommodation and grounds, including the two swimming pools, are superb. My only gripe was that the food service could sometimes be very slow which is a shame as otherwise this would have been a five star review. However, it certainly has not put me off wanting to return.

We had a great stay in 2019 but our recent stay was very disappointing. Lack of entertainment, ( unlike 2019), poor overall service, disappointing food particularly breakfast.( lack of fruit choice)..

Response from Rima Ali, Guest Services / Front Office at BEQUIA BEACH Hotel
Responded 6 days ago
Dear Christopher901, we thank you for choosing to stay with us once again but take this opportunity to apologise that your holiday experience was not what you had hoped for when staying with us. Management have taken your comments seriously to heart, and we would like to address each concern as we strive to improve and always meet high standards. Our entertainment program is subject to the availability of individual artists, many of which also require overnight accommodation if travelling from St. Vincent. That said our current entertainment program is as follows; Monday nights at Blue Tropic; solo guitar singer, Wednesday evenings at Bagatelle DJ, Fridays at Blue Tropic piano accompaniment, owner’s cocktail evenings two-man string band and every Sunday afternoon steel pan music alternating bi-weekly with a string band. Addressing a lack of variety in breakfast; we try to have a balanced approach in responsibly purchasing and sourcing as much local fruit and produce that is in season, opting to minimize the purchasing of imported fruits by buying locally to ensure a respectful carbon footprint. We acknowledge your comments on your service experience wholeheartedly and it is an area the team will strive to improve and address. At Bagatelle we have a fixed lunch menu with daily specials, and our a la carte dinner menus alternate between four different menus, each day also with specials and a Wednesday night BBQ buffet. The service offering is complimented by Blue Tropic with it’s Mediterranean flavours & our sister restaurant Jack’s. Our kitchen team are always willing to accommodate special needs, requests or preferences if you would have preferred another option. We regret & apologise that your experience impacted your enjoyment of your vacation and second time at our property, your comments have been circulated together with suggestions throughout the applicable teams. The location and situation of the hotel and accommodation right beside the beach and sea at Friendship Bay is stunningly beautiful. The Reception and staff service is generally good and very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 night stay with 7 other friends. The cuisine was good but the dinner offering should be of a higher standard. The staff were always kind and helpful but the service was generally slow and rather disorganised. They also need dedicated bar staff at “The Bagatelle” bar who can serve drinks and mix cocktails etc quickly. The provision of drinks was far too slow particularly before dinner. We liked “Jack’s Bar” (part of the hotel) at Princess Margaret Beach, where the all round service was excellent.

I couldn't dream up a more perfect stay if I tried. The beds incredibly comfortable, the A/C always cold, delicious breakfast and coffee overlooking the ocean, rum punches and walks on the beach... topped off with wonderful staff and excellent service. I only wish we had more than a week at this paradise.

A delightful hotel in a quiet part of the Caribbean with lovely rooms and friendly staff. The island is not as commercial as other Caribbean islands but is laid back and untouched. The hotel can arrange trips to Mustique. All of the bar staff, restaurant, gardeners and housekeeping are very friendly. The food for dinner is very nice with a good choice. The plane to the island takes 30 mins from Barbados and is an experience. Thank you to everyone at Bequia beach resort for a restful holiday.

We stayed at the Bequia Beach Hotel for 8 nights. The location is simply beautiful. Excellent food and wonderful, friendly service. Our room was a beach front suite which I would highly recommend. We would love to return.

Where to begin? The Bequia Beach Hotel is a gem, from the amazing staff to the setting and quality of accommodation. The hotel is like stepping back in time to our early holidays in the Caribbean when colonial style furniture, rugs and ceiling fans were the norm. Be warned, there are no TV screens in rooms (unless you request one, I assume). And the staff remember your name, smile when they see you, ask if there's anything you need and it such a welcome touch. We stayed in early November and the weather was a mix of short showers, sun and occasional tropical downpours. We got soaked a few times and carried an umbrella on trips out. The hotel supplies golfing-size umbrellas in rooms, at the Bagatelle restaurant and reception. Speaking of the Bagatelle, the new Manager Martin has a great manner and was always on hand to meet needs. We had half board and dinner is two courses from a fairly extensive menu. We never struggled for choice and the food quality was good. Drink prices (quoted in USD) can be on the steepish side, but that's fine when you are holiday! it was my birthday when we stayed and Roger, Martin and the team all helped make it a birthday to remember. We had major problems getting to Bequia due to our flight being delayed from Heathrow by nearly 5 hours meaning we missed the Bequia Air flight that left at 17.00 that day. After a few adventures, we ended up in St Vincent and stayed in the hotel's 'sister' venue, Grenadine House, the restored site of an 18th century colonial house and home to former governor-generals! An hour's ferry crossing from Kingstown (EC$10 pp!) took us into Port Elizabeth and we were soon at the Bequia Beach Hotel to be met with a rum punch and cold towel by the lovely and efficient Rima and the reception team. For mobility reasons, Rima had arranged for us to stay in one of the fab cottages, which we loved. The suites in the main buildings look brilliant and many have sea views but if you have difficulty with stairs, check which floor rooms are on. The pools (one is a great salt water infinity pool) are kept spotless with umbrellas, loungers, towels and swimming equipment all provided. We had a few glasses of rum punch and beers around the pool from the beach bar which were fine, though I recall a few guests expressing disappointment with strength of drinks such as G&T. No such disappointment with the drinks at Jack's Beach bar and restaurant on Princess Margaret beach where Deli serves a strong rum punch using local Sunset rum (84% proof), so beware! Bequia Beach has a relationship with Jacks' and there is a daily free shuttle service to the bar and beach. There is a boardwalk along the beach that goes along to Port Elizabeth, the island's major town. Not much in the town, but worth a visit. Would we return to Bequia and the the Beach Hotel? Yes, but possibly via St Vincent and the ferry as it seems to be regular and reliable. No review would be complete without mentioning and saying 'Thank you' to the super staff who helped to make our stay memorable: Rima, who organised so much including our super cruise to Tobago Cays, the super efficient Roger, Martin, Aleana, Grace, Hope, Keisha, Kelsey and Jermaine - I'm sure I've missed lots of other great gals and guys, sorry! Alan
