Some places we do not merely visit, we become a part of! Places that touch your spirit, and replenish your soul. Where time fades, and your only schedule is the turning of the tides! Welcome to an undiscovered Beach Resort Sri Lanka paradise. Welcome to Talalla. Talalla retreat is a boutique hotel, offering barefoot rustic charm on the Southern Beaches of Sri Lanka. The retreat sits on Talalla Beach, an undiscovered cove of crystal clear turquoise water, spotless golden sand and mesmerizing sunrises and sunsets. Of all the resorts in Sri Lanka, Talalla offers its guests a level of elegant simplicity just metres from the lapping waters of a secluded cove. Here, time is measured in moments of serenity and pleasure. It is a place to get away from it all and to absorb the unsurpassed natural beauty of Sri Lanka. A jungle paradise, Talalla is built low rise, and set into lush gardens, resplendent with tropical flora. Monkeys play in the coconut palms as they sway softly in the breeze. Monitor lizards roam freely as they have since the days of the dinosaurs. Squirrels twitter as they dart through the grass. And at night, fireflies lightup the surrounds, guiding you lightly to your villa.... Relax in the 20 metre freshwater pool, swing in a hammock or lounge on a sunchair by day and by night indulge in a cocktail at the bar, or lounge on the sofa nearby. Sri Lanka’s best kept secret is waiting for you, are you ready to replenish your soul and get in touch with nature?

We have loved our stay at Talalla & really don’t want to leave. The retreat is beautiful, every corner has been carefully designed. Our ocean view room was spacious, comfortable and had truly amazing views of the beach, which is the best beach I have ever seen. The yoga

We stayed for one night in talalla retreat, this is our most fancy stay during our trip. We booked the big house room which I can absolutely recommend, it’s beautiful and feels very open and tropical. Initially, we booked a ‘twin-bed’ as we’re friends but I would say that’s

Lovely 2 night stay in spacious bamboo hut by the beach. Location is absolutely perfect at one end of Talalla beach. Not usually fans of buffets but buffet here was great with a good mix of local and western options. Get down to the beach for 5.30am to watch the sunrise and the

We had some rain but if, then mostly in the late afternoon or during the night. But weather is getting better and better and the days are sunny with blue sky.

Hi Mo, Lovely to hear from you! You are welcome to use US dollars to pay for anything at Talalla Retreat, but we would recommend purchasing some Sri Lankan rupees for use outside of the retreat (don't want to be stuck un-able to buy a post-surf beer!) Essentials like sunblock and bug spray are available from our on-site shop and from shops in the village. Our shop also sells swimwear and locally made clothes. Although you are likely to be visiting some surf shops on your outings during your retreat, we would recommend buying the clothes you will need before your arrival, just in case. Hope this helps! Looking forward to welcoming you, and do get in touch with any other questions.

Hi, I don't recall any encounter with the owner during the 10 days I stayed at the resort. But I did find her response to my tripadvisor review (which did not include any false comments, but was a simple recollection of my experience and views) very rude and have decided not to return to the resort because of it. My experience is definitely that the resort is not very accommodating when it comes to requests from customers (...and they say the fish stinks from the head). They simply stick to their rules, instead of providing first class customer service that makes people feel at home and want to return. If that is the kind of service you are looking to get, don't stay there.
