Stopped here on route to Stratford upon Avon, friendly helpful staff, clean basic bedroom. Was informed restaurant open till 9.00pm but went in at 8.35pm and told kitchen was closed. So went to restaurant next door which was very good. Basic breakfast choice of, sausage, bacon scrambled eggs and beans, babs, toast, cereal, fruit and yoghurt, included in price of room which was very reasonable. This hotel provides a no frills service of a clean room, free parking and breakfast ideal for an overnight stay.
Fair price for solo traveller and then £20 on top for the extra clean after the dog also joining me. Basic quick turn around had better from IHP before on the motorway, however, comfy bed, TV, hot shower and grab and go breakfast. Reliable. Note I was given the ground floor first room as I had the dog which can be noisy when corridor door is open. All in all. Rested and good to go!
We spent about two weeks touring Scotland before moving south to the Lake District. We stayed for 4 nights in Stirling staying at this hotel which we’ve stayed at several times before the previous occasion in September last year. The hotel seems to be starting to getting back to normal from the Covid restrictions that were in place last year. Breakfast this year was offering more like what we’d been offered prior to the Covid restrictions with a good selection of hot and cold foods. The rooms were being serviced as normal unlike last year when they were only being serviced on request. Our room was very comfortable and quiet allowing us to get a good night’s sleep. The hotel Wi-Fi was good throughout the building both in our room and the breakfast room. The hotel has a large free car park for guests but needing to give the vehicle registration when checking in as the car park is being managed by a management company. As the weather was dry during our stay, we didn’t need to use the car during our stay and opted to walk to the railway station (for daytrips to Edinburgh and Aberdeen) which is around 1½ miles taking us around 30 minutes which is adjacent to Stirling town centre. It was a well-located hotel for our needs.…
Stayed one night to break the journey from Shropshire to Elgin. Cannot be faulted. The Holiday Inn product is generally good, but what this stay was the staff, form the warm and friendly greeting at check in, to everything they did to assist. We travelled with a couple of dogs, and chose this hotel as we knew dogs were welcome. Couldn’t find our bowls in the car, in the dark, and manager just provided a choice. We had two valuable bikes with us, manager locked them in the office for us overnight. I’m sure they would have been safe on the bike of the car, but gave great peace of mind to be locked up. Breakfast was usual holiday inn fare, good and plenty of it. No hesitation in recommending this hotel, and definitely will stay again when next we travel to Elgin.
We booked our one night stay 30 minutes before we arrived at the hotel due to it being an unexpected overnight stop. We arrived said 30 minutes before the actual stated check in time and was allowed to go to our room. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and gave us all the details on breakfast, dinner and local sights etc. The room was very large with a kingsize bed, clean and tidy. Just what you need for an overnight stay. The breakfast in the morning was very filling with hot and cold choices. Very impressed given the budget/bargin price.
