After deciding around 2pm to stay over in Bowness we found this gem of a hotel just five mins from town centre and lake. Room was a chalet type room. Very clean and extremely spacious. Didn’t use shower but for an overnight stay with parking it was well worth £136. Didn’t have breakfast. Staff on reception were lovely and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

This was our second stay at Burn How and we were able to park our car just outside the courtyard room this time. The room was comfortable with two double beds. The staff were friendly and adhered to the Covid guidance. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the Lake and Bowness, and there are plenty of walks from here. The breakfast was excellent keeping in mind it was limited due to restrictions and only table service was allowed. The restaurant is a lovely place to sit with good views of the garden. We will happily come back to Burn How for another holiday to Bowness.

My Husband and I stayed for 2 nights after getting a great last minute deal through booking.com. We stayed in one bedroom ground floor self catering apartment(no. 2) which was literally 5 footsteps from the entrance to the pool, spa and pub. Free robes and slippers mean you can get changed in own room, then towels when you get there. One if the best spas I have ever visited, with 2 Bali beds, loungers, plunge pool and two hot tubs, but steam and sauna currently closed. I personally wouldn’t bother with the rooms with hot tubs with a spa this good. You can get your drinks from the poolside and carriage to your room. Didn’t need room with a view due to limited time we spent in it. Apartment was spotless and modern, lovely bed linen and fluffy towels. Sachets of tea and coffee and bottle of fresh milk provided. We didn’t use restaurant or bistro as preferred to be out and about in Bowness-on-Windermere, which is less than 5 minute walk away. Concierge very helpful and friendly. Would definitely return.

Again had a lovely time at Burn How. Spotlessly clean and well serviced. The food as always was excellent, well prepared, well presented and served. Nothing was too much trouble. We will be back again soon. Thanks very much Hilary and Graham
