Stayed here for a few nights and was pleasantly surprised. Rooms were very clean and was furnished well. Breakfast was in the pub, which was a very short walk away from the accommodation and the food was adequate. The staff at breakfast was very helpful. Would happily stay here again.
I have visited this pub many times and up until recently the experience was always pleasurable and the atmosphere relaxed. However in recent months I have been put off the pub by the sheer arrogance and ignorance of the manager who walks around like he is the boss of the ritz, looking down his nose at certain customers and generally not having the decency to even say hello when you go in. There is always kitchen issues and the kitchen has in fact been out of action for a month and it is concerning that when asking how the staff are serving breakfasts to the hotel guests with no kitchen, I was told it was being made in the “flat upstairs” and then brought down. So this is hotel food being made in someone’s personal flat which is clearly outside of Envirommental Health policy. At our most recent visit one of the guys behind the bar got told off by the rude manager for chatting to my partner and I despite the pub behind empty, clearly worried the poor lad may say something he didn’t want us to know. All in all I would avoid this pub like the plague unless you enjoy grumpy, moody management As a business owner myself customer service is key and with pubs closing daily, this clearly shows how naive this manager is as we will now take out money and custom elsewhere, when he should be working hard to retain loyal customers.…
Wow! The room was luxurious, warm, modern and everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The room was spotless, the the tea and coffee supplied was good quality. The remote for the tv worked which isn’t always the case and located next to a great traditional pub.. it was brilliant.
First class hospitality, rooms very well appointed, clean and comfortable. Warm welcome, staff all interacted well with customers. Breakfast can often be the one thing that lets a business down, but not here, the tea was in a pot and hot, the food all well cooked and served hot. Thank you to the whole team!
We liked the fact that the accomodation is in a separate building from the pub, set far apart that there's no noise. Despite being on the main A27 there was also no road noise in our room, again due to the placement of the accomodation block. The room was comfortable and it was nice to have a bath as well as a shower available. Breakfast was fine: there was a 'normal' cooked breakfast as well as a vegeatarian option (though oddly this was called the 'garden breakfast' rather than the 'vegetarian breakfast'). The staff were efficient and very pleasent in all our dealings with them. *In no way is this a criticism*, but I would flag up the fact that from the Coach and Horses you have to drive into Worthing to eat if you don't want to eat in the pub. I thought it best to mention as sometimes from a map it's not easy to spot things like this. But the route into Worthing is an easy drive so it's not a major issue. All round we were very pleased with our stay, would defintely recommend it it…
