Room tired and bathroom didn’t feel clean The room was dusty, didn’t feel cleaned. The bed was really uncomfortable, the bathroom had black mould all round the shower; the shower curtain didn’t stop the water leaking out of shower (and was a really really small shower space, impossible to bend while in there) toilet might of leaked too. Hard to tell as so much water on floor after shower. There was a loft hatch in the bathroom which black handprints all over… reading other reviews these were there in August (we visited in October!) which we thought a bit odd Room was also really hot and window only opened a tiny bit Main hotel seemed ok, there was some sort of singer on when we went so when we went down to the bar for a drink there were no seats left! Also wanted to eat but the restaurant closed quite early so we didn’t get time to do that. Bar staff didn’t seem to know if we could use the voucher we got with our stay for drinks and told us to check with reception.. on the other side of the hotel. So we didn’t bother. Hotel seemed in a good location and parking was easy. Probably wouldn’t stay again because of the cleanliness of room and uncomfortable bed. There are other hotels similar price which are much more value for money

We stayed at the New Southlands Hotel in Scarborough last week on a four night break. We had a lovely time in this excellent hotel, we had room 207, it was a very nice comfortable room, the bed was comfortable and the room was spacious and clean. The food was excellent both morning and evening dinner and was served by excellent staff. Ruth and her team are all very good, excellent at their jobs and always helpful, Special mention to David the food and beverage manager for his help for connecting my iPad to the internet. we have stayed in the Southlands many times in the past, this was the first time since it was taken over by Ledger holidays. We have always had a good time. We watched the entertainment which was on three nights during our stay, the best one by far was on the Tuesday, Paul Tilly he is excellent on his guitar and a very good singer. We will return sometime soon.

Had a lovely stay and enjoyed the hotel. The wife was given a beautiful bouquet of flowers as it was our anniversary. Everyone of the staff were very helpful and the hotel is very handy as it is only a 10 minutes stroll to the town centre.

Main parts of the hotel looked very good, breakfast was nice and offered on a self service basis. The room we were given did not resemble the pictures on the website. Tissue paper from the previous guest wedged in to the window to stop it rattling, cheap extension lead in the room as there were not enough sockets. General condition of the room and bathroom was poor. The room was still dusty even after it had been cleaned twice.

What a wonderful weekend spent in the New Southlands Hotel. I was really impressed with all aspects of this hotel. The room was spacious, sheets crisp white and smelt fresh. But the food was really good especially breakfast. Good quality and plentiful. Dinner was delicious and plenty of choice too. You could upgrade at each meal but we didn’t see the point as what we had was so nice. All staff were professional but so friendly. Entertainment on two of the 3 nights was outstanding.just a 2 minute walk to the esplanade with the most spectacular views of beautiful Scarborough. Just great…. Can’t wait to return!
