In the past few years gained ourselves a reputation as one of the best wedding venues in the region. The Pinewood was purpose built in 2005, which means we offer modern rooms with Air Con, Mini Bars, Laptop Safe, and Tea & Coffee facilities. We were one of the first hotels to offer free WiFi, and this has recently been 'Bonded' to provide twice the speed.Unlike other local hotels we do not charge for Parking, printing airline boarding passes, WiFi, and a host of other hidden extras.Eden restaurant provides an informal dining experience with freshly prepared home-made food served from the Stage Kitchen.

What an amazing Christmas Lunch! We were made to feel very welcome from the minute we arrived and the staff could not do enough for us, striking the right balance between being attentive, but also giving us time to just relax and enjoy Christmas as a family. The food was delicious and to you it all off Father Christmas came too! We would highly recommend and will be back again next year.

Visited Sunday 19th Dec for Xmas Santa meet & lunch, easy to book through the hotel by email & phone call payment. Paid £63 for 2 adults & 1 child for 3 courses. The child course was same as an adults which a lot of children won’t eat the same food as adults. The hotel is a lovely looking hotel and easy to get to via driving. All 3 courses were lovely food. Downside was the service a major let down for a hotel of this grade. Especially as I got married at the hotel and know what they can do. We had drinks wise cokes which came with no ice or lemon and the cokes were flat & not cold. The people working there seemed they did not want to be there as no soul about the service. The Santa meet was very shocking to be honest as the Santa was not with my daughter not Evan 20 seconds, a quick hand over of a present and he was gone. Can’t use covid as an excuse of the poor service. I have visited this hotel every year for past 6 years for various types of visits and this was the worse one. Food wise I would recommend but the staffing / service needs improving majorly.

My friend had her wedding here, where to start 🤔 the chair covers were stained or ripped, as well as the nets at the windows. The drinks were extremely high and charged different prices at every round even though the drinks were the same they basically were charging 5 star prices in a 2/3 star establishment! Glass on the doors were dirty. The wedding cake, the hotel staff cut the whole cake up without asking left it all out and basically threw it away as it as they said dried up, the cake was for 100 people why on earth would you cut the whole cake up complained regarding this to reception No return call from the manager Mark! However the serving staff were very nice and the food was lovely. Children’s games were meant to be set up in the garden did not happen. Very upset and disappointed regarding the cake but again the evening buffet was nice. Manager is a bit on the rude side and quite sarcastic. Shame as the location and grounds are a lovely setting for a wedding

Response from General Manager, General Manager at Pinewood Hotel

Hi I am very surprised to read this totally distorted review, I would ask you to speak to the bride and groom , and all the guests that complemented us on the day . If you are the person who called then I returned your call twice , but seeing as the bride and groom both requested all the cake cutting I fail to see what the problem is . Perhaps you may want to speak to them and there respective parents and ask them to please speak to me if there is a problem. , there were no rips in any covers or curtains , drinks are pre programmed in our tills so mistakes cannot be made . Please do feel free to call me i welcome your call .

We paid £199 for dinner, bed and breakfast. Terrible value for money! The first room we were put in (supposed to be a Superior Double) was awful. It was next to a busy road, had a strange smell and just seemed dirty and rundown. There was a large sticker attached to the curtains that had come off a previous guest's new clothing. We noticed that the toilet wouldn't flush and asked for it to be fixed whilst we were having 'dinner'. Dinner, well, that's another thing. What a strange menu. Random items and no starters unless you want a small portion of a pasta main course! Not many options for vegetarians (nothing for vegans!). I ended up having fish and chips. Not great but ok. Wetherspoons standard! Our toilet could not be fixed so we were given a different room. Much better quality and a little bit quieter. Huge bed with the tiniest pillows, lots of cobwebs and spiders, weird decor and a stained toilet. The bed was mega hard. There was a constant noise through the night (from the kitchen maybe?) and other guests returning to their room at 1.30am disturbed us. Breakfast was a none event. No one spoke to us until we asked if we just helped ourselves. I just had jam on toast, again, a waste of money. No veggie options for cooked breakfast. Not a good selection at all. Overall, it was a weird experience. Strange atmosphere in the place. We feel ripped off and wouldn't return.

Room Tip: Avoid room 10. Check toilets are clean and that they flush. Take your own pillows.
