I have been coming here year after year and now it has recently reopend, once again I’ve had another excellent stay in this wonderful hotel, great and lovely staff, beautiful spacious and clean rooms, an extensive breakfast and in a great location in the center of Ipswich a less than a 10-minute walk from the station, Ipswich Town FC football ground is a 5-minute walk. It is always a pleasure to be here and I don't know why I would ever choose any other hotel in Ipswich, for me it’s a home away from home!!

Booked an executive suite for a business weekend as a couple yet only one robe and one set of slippers. Had to ask reception for an additional set. Room and bathroom very clean. Comfortable. Quiet. Nespresso machine was dirty I let reception know on checkout. Food was nice but a tad pricey. Breakfast had very good choice and was tasty. Staff at restaurant, bar and reception very nice, friendly and accommodating. Would book again in future.

I have recently stayed 2 nights at the Novotel Ipswich Centre and was disappointed how tired looking the hotel is. We have good facilities in our rooms, which were on the third floor. One other thing, there seemed to be groups of men inside and outside the hotel who leered at my two teenage daughters, making them feel extremely uncomfortable.

Awful treatment from a hotel I have regularly used and praised for years. Had four reservations between November 2022 and February 2023. Received an email to say all bookings cancelled as the hotel had been taken over by the Home Office. Had to make a number of telephone calls to ask for a refund, which then never appeared. Cannot get hold of Accor Head Office email and emails to Novotel Ipswich not being answered. Novotel / Accor Hotel group have handled this entire affair terribly.

I would have given a four rating if it hadn't been foe the imminent closure. The staff are lovely and have been treated abominably by the company who it appears told them on Monday that as the hotel would be closing on Sunday, as it has been taken over by the government to house asylum seekers, most of them were being made redundant! Because of the closure there was no hot breakfast available on Sunday - the hotel knew this but hadn't pre-warned us before arriving yet they had pre-warned us that road closures for the half-marathon meant we wouldn't be able to get out of the hotel car park until after the race had passed by. But with all this hanging over them the staff were still friendly. Our room was clean and well stocked. Two small down sides - the traffic in Ipswich is horrendous and traffic noise never seemed to stop, even when waking during the night. And they don't offer fried or poached eggs with the hot breakfast - just the awful catering "scrambled" eggs along with the other items on the hot buffet. Most places offer to fry or poach you an egg if you'd prefer. I would have considered staying here again when next in Ipswich but the way they've treated the staff means I now won't.

This is a tired hotel that is not 4 star. Our experience started when I arrived at the hotel. I was meeting my partner there. I got a drink at the bar while waiting. On paying my card was taken from me as the machine would not reach for me tap and pay. At check in we was not asked if we wanted breakfast. Our room had stained carpet and the common areas not pleasant. On coming back to reception we asked the young man about breakfast and was told just to turn up. We thought this was very strange. On the Sunday morning we arrived for breakfast and was told we should have pre-booked and breakfast is more expensive to pay ad-hoc. We explained we had tried and we were offered it at the pre-booked price. Some items were very slow to be replenished. The Sunday evening we were out at a show. In returning to the hotel at approximately 10pm we went to the bar. The bottles had been taken away and we were told it was cash only which we did have so we walked back into town. On check out we were asked how our stay was to which we raised our points. The duty manager refunded our breakfast. I have stayed in Novotel Leeds which was a completely different experience. Would not stay again.

Stayed at this hotel in August. When we checked in we paid £7 for parking (directly outside the hotel) and entered my registration number into their screen. 2 Weeks later I have received a £100 parking fine which I now have to appeal. Could be an expensive night away!

The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The hotel staff are also very friendly. The hotel’s amenities were very good and the hotel location is within the town centre. The smart Television in the room however was not connected to Wi-Fi hence the smart features could not be accessed throughout my stay.
