Bit concerned by all the bad reviews. But not sure where they stayed as this hotel was nothing like the reviews for us. All the staff wrre very friendly and helpful. Only one evening the restaurant was poor service, 30 mins wait for the mains and that was coz we grabbed somebody. All other times service was 1st class. The food was better than some top places we have eaten in. Plates and food were hot. The food was huge portions, well presented and very tasty. Choice was also very good. The only meal that wasnt great was the roast beef which could mend any leaky shoe. Breakfast was also of great standard. Plenty of choice, hot and was topped up constantly. No fresh fruit was the only downside. Could not smell any musty nor damp smells at all. Looked like decorating had been done. Room was a good size, lower ground overlooking the car park. If thats not what you want pay for seaview. Beds comfy. Tv worked well. Bathroom was tired and the bath had been resealed by a 5yr old by the quality of work. The water power was at best a trickle. So if bath was needed start it at least 3 days before. Was concerned that shower was not going to work but came out better than bath. Very hot and cold water. Asked for new fresh towels and toilet rolls and were delivered quickly as room not being cleaned due to covid. Great all round stay, better than when owned by shearings.

On the 2nd of August 21 my wife and I boarded a Leger Coach (ncorporating Shearings) to travel to the Couny Hotel Llandudno. On arrival we were allocated a small room which clean and tidy. I noticed that the TV was not working, being pensioners, our main relaxation is watching TV. We reported it to Reception but no one attended to fix it. till the second day. During the early hours of the first night,my wife went to use the toilet in the bathroom and found the floor 'swimming' with a bad leak from the toilet. We had to lay bath towels and hand towels down to soak up the water. Then we had to wring the towels over the sink. We both have arthritus and find wringing towels out extremely painful. We reported this disaster to Reception the following morning and were assured it would be fixed. The same floods occured the second night and we had to do as previous and got little sleep. We reported it again and a 'handyman' had another look at the problem and said he could not get another 'hose connector'. He wrapped 'electricians tape' around the leak,to no avail. It was the same throughout our stay, only on the last night did the manageress say we could change rooms,in spite of telling us originally no other rooms were available,we declined as it meant loading the cases and struggling to another room on a different floor,no porterage available. We are both in our eighties and have restricted movement. We could go on about this Hotel but suffice to say that the manageress refused our request for some form of compensation and said take the matter up with the Coach Company. I did sent Leger Travel a letter explaining what had happened and included photographs. They did not have the courtesy to reply. Yours fai8thfully, B.A.Morton

Thank you for taking the time to write to me regarding your recent stay. As we have only recently taken over 36 hotels including the County hotel, feedback is very important to us and allows us to improve the product and service we provide through refurbishment and training programs throughout all our hotels. Im sorry to hear you had some maintenance issues during your stay and im sure the team would have loved to have compensated you onsite for this however, since you booked and paid through a separate company we have no option but to refer back to them.

Stayed for a long weekend Friday to Monday although the room and bathroom were clean there was no getting away from the musty smell in the room it was quite over powering. No housekeeping but you just had to ask at reception if you needed anything The food was good and the portions were of a good size, breakfast was self service and always hot and replenished regularly. The hotel is in need of some tlc but for what we paid we were happy enough. The staff without exception were friendly and always willing to help a special mention to the dining room staff who work hard to ensure everyone is served promptly and always with a smile on their faces . All the staff are a credit to the hotel

Will never stay here again . Our room was in the basement .The heating could not be turned on the thermostat from both radiators had been removed. The main dinner meal was small portions served in small bowls/plates. As for the bar the bar manager did not seem to know the different drinks and served you what he thought was the right drink and refused to change it. No housekeeping ,cleaning you were asked to do it yourself. Yes for the money paid it is not worth it.
