The staff here could not have been any nicer and the location is good. However, this hotel summed up my biggest pet hate - sold us a double room and when we got there it was two quite small single beds pushed together with flimsy single duvets and poor quality pillows...my absolute nightmare! Barely slept. The hotel doesn't have a bar or a restaurant and yes, there are places nearby but not out of hours... The breakfast is pretty good if a little pricey - we only had it once in 3 days. Overall we would never return as when I asked about a double room I was told they only do single beds and I am assuming single duvets...but they will continue to sell double rooms...

Clean and spacious. Comfortable bed and pillows. Decent location walking distance to Mirabell Palace, Mirabellplatz. Can continue walking across bride to old town. Also accessible by bus. Small issue with room temperature. There is no climate control and the room did get bit hot and stuffyy. We were asked to open windows for air which was nice and cool breeze. But as our room faced the road, opening windows was not really an option as it was noisy.

Great hotel although a bit dated the room was ok. Breakfast was good as well. Staff really were very friendly and helpful. Location is also perfect for your stay. There are a few restaurants close to the hotel for food

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights for the New Year and found it to be one of the most friendly and helpful hotels we have stayed in for a long time, nothing was too much trouble when asking questions about the area and helped to book reservations for restaurants nearby. It was in a great location been probably around a 20 minute walk to the Old Town, but there was a bus stop around the corner which took you over the Bridge to the town. The breakfast had plenty of choice and again staff where very friendly. Would recommend the hotel to anyone who wishes to be away from the hustle and bustle of the main squares etc but had plenty of restaurants etc nearby.

Great location within a comfortable walking distance from the main attractions in the city. Room was comfortable as well. Sound seemed to travel quite easily in the hotel, we could hear other rooms' taps open and footsteps. Other than that, everything was good!

We booked a large room and had intended in staying 4 nights but could only stay 3 due to the train strikes. The staff were lovely and understanding of our late arrival. The room was huge and I loved it. It had character and charm and was well located. You needed to cross the bridge to get to the old city but it didn’t take long at all. Perfect location for vegans too, lots of vegan friendly places nearby. The bed was comfortable and the room warm. I would love a kettle but I say that about all the hotels in Europe. I liked the couch and it gave us somewhere to sit. The water was warm in the shower too.

Extremely comfortable room, large and airy, bed and pillows were a delight, had an extremely restful sleep. We only stayed one night, although it was a National holiday, didn’t realise until we arrived, Rene who was on reception couldn’t have been more helpful and recommended a fabulous restaurant within walking distance and another bar close by. Excellent location too.

Great little “Old School” European hotel with a great location. Walking distance from the train station and the Old Town district. Rooms were very nice and well kept. The front desk and breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful in every way. The hotel exceeded our expectations and we would stay there again.

I spent two nights at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten at the end of September 2022. It is located in a perfect location - a 10-15 minute walk from the train, and a 10-minute walk, just across the river, from Old Town, so away from the hordes of tourists. The room was charming, incredibly clean, and historic -- exactly what I was hoping for. Yes, it is not the most updated, but everything worked perfectly, and I had no complaints, other than the fact that I had a room that faced out only to the roof and didn't have much ventilation. Most importantly, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom (and rest of the room) was sparkling clean. However, the best part about this hotel was the staff. From the front desk reception who greeted me by name each day, to the superb cleaning of my room/bathroom even after one day, I was blown away by the hospitality and would return just for that. They lent me an umbrella on a rainy day, mailed postcards for me, and gave me tips on the best activities in Salzburg. I would return just for this type of hospitality!

A typical traditional Central European city hotel, with friendly staff, clean but outdated rooms, crackling wooden floors etc. The hotel was very quiet during my stay, and all the receptionists were friendly. I had booked a single, which I found out to be more like a closet than a room, but received a complimentary upgrade to a double room, which, while still smallish, was far better. Much appreciated! The hotel would have needed a major renovation twenty years ago, and will actually finally be getting one in January 2021. If they do a good work, it will become a gem. The bed was comfortable, but sleeping was a bit difficult because there was no air conditioning so the room remained hot despite opening the window. The rolling curtain was of little help to keep the room dark so as soon as the sun rose, the room became very light. I should have brought an eye mask. The room features what one might call traditional decor, and must have looked like this 40 years ago. It was too small for any sitting area, but there was a closet with a safe and a minibar. No water bottles or additional amenities were provided. Wifi was fast and reliable. The code was good for two devices. There were no pratical sockets to charge your devices, but I found one on the wall next to the bed. To charge my laptop, I had to unplug a lamp; details that will surely be attended to in the renovation. The bathroom came with a combined shower/bathtub with excellent water pressure. Toiletries were in wall-mounted canisters. On depature, I was allowed check-out at one o’clock, which is of course better than the regular check out hour, but frankly, with the hotel practically empty, there would have been little harm in a later check-out. The hotel enjoys a nice location close to shops and restaurants and is only a 2–3 minute walk from the bus stop Wolf Dietrich Straße, where bus 2 to the airport and main railway station stops. The old town is within walking distance. My stay was a pleasant one and the staff were friendly, but still I’d definitely rate the hotel as a three-star (although I’ve stayed at three-stars that are far more modern and have larger rooms). If you expect four-star amenities and standards, you will surely be disappointed.
