Hotel Schloss Monchstein is 5 stars for a reason; their staff. We needed a place to wind down after two full days at Oktoberfest and this hotel was recommended to us by a couple of friends. So glad we stayed here! We traveled with another couple and upon arrival we were

Since I live in Salzburg I will likely not stay over night any time soon, but my wife and I go at least once a year for a 'day-spa' trip or dinner to this hotel. So for our wedding-day we spend the day at the spy and the evening at the dinner table, as always everything was

Small establishment but service is world class. Much better than a lot of the five stars international hotels out there. Breakfast is superb too. As a guest, you will feel extremely welcomed and well taken care of.

We stayed in the hotel in the off season so it was quiet, but by far the nicest place we stayed in Austria. The room was gorgeous, staff helpful and the restaurant was delicious. It is a walk to town, but we thoroughly enjoyed walking through the gorgeous park to town. You are

It is true the walk to the elevator is through a park and at night there is not much light, still I do not recall any incident ever! In general salzburg is very save an I think there is very little danger. If you came home late at night I would recommend a taxi anyway, since the Hotel is on top of a small mountain and to my recollection the elevator doesn't operate all night.

Yes I have .... in fact just last month and I recommend this beautiful property to all if you do not mind the walk as it is perched up on the hill giving you a beautiful view of the city . There is a lift from the Museum which takes you down to the city and the walk from the hotel to the museum is through the woods not more then 10 mins . If you want peace n quiet coupled with excellent service and the charm of staying in a castle you r in the right place .
