Modern yet cosy and a has good vibe ! The Breakfast was delicious ) The restorant has its own Bakery ! I had a nice room with a nice couch (see the picture). May be it's just my mood but I liked it. Just feel good with nothing extra.
Cool vibe, clean and modern. There is a restaurant and bar in the lobby with great drinks and fun music. There was no bottled water in the room and no filling station anywhere in the hotel. I asked a hotel employee where I could fill my reusable water bottle and she replied “in the sink”. There was no coffee or tea in the room. If you’d like these you’ll need to go to the lobby and pay for them (they do not have complimentary coffee/tea like most hotels and motels).
+ Great location right next to the tram + Restaurant insight + Bakery inside AND now minuses: - No signs anywhere around the hotel where the reception is located. I arrived from the main car road where bakery is, cound't find way up, had to use lot of stairs with a heavy suitcase. From the top level I found some door which actually led to the reception. - Dusty, dusty room - Very cold room and continous blowing air from the ceiling air conditioning. I had to find a way how to cover part of the hole. - BATHROOM sink! - sink is about 3cm/inch deep, so water splashes everywhere, making all of my belongs and toiletries wet, pooring over the sink edges. - BATHROOM shower door! - There is a gap between the glass door and the floor. So there was continues water stream pouring out of the shower onto the floor. Two foot mats became soaking wet every day. - They provide a soap in the bathroom, but no basic shower gel or shampoo as many other hotels do - It would be great if the hotel provides some info about the surrounding area. When I asked them where to get something to eat they lamely replied about 1 pizza place. Last day I discovered that there is a grocery store below the terace, as well as PAUL backery, etc.…
Make sure that before you reserve a table in the restaurant, you choose the first or second service. Yes this exists! We booked a table of four and after 2 hours of being in the restaurant,we’ve been informed that we should leave our table as they were waiting some other people.😳 We told them that we were totally unaware of this procedure and ordered our dessert. After 15min.another waiter came to remind that he should empty the table and he proposed to us to continue at the bar.We decided just to pay and leave. The dessert was served but we were in a hurry to finish it,as no one wanted to stay anymore. It was my first experience of this procedure. If this is the restaurant’s policy,I suppose it’s fare to share this information with their clients, before they book their table.
This was a great hotel experience - a comfortable, large, spotless room, with a window that opens, terrific restaurant, close to public transport - but slightly spoiled by two things. One, as a Brit, I really would value a kettle and tea bags in room for an early morning cuppa (and would pay a supplement!). Two, I used express checkout but they never emailed by invoice or replied to email requests for it. Minor issues, and I'd go back, but it could have been excellent.
They have a very nice interior, it's amazing. The restaurant and the rooms are very clean. The rooms are big and it's quite. They also have a nice rooftop bar. The location is 2km from the city center, but you can take the public transport and that's free. I love the Mama Shelter concept and I will book it again.
Great design, functional room, quiet, restaurant and bar at ground floor that are lively and inviting. I did not realize it was three stars so there was no kettle in the room, but the staff gave me free tea. The restaurant had no space left for me for diner so I sat at the bar.
Location is very good, it’s about 15 mins direct on free public transport to city centre of Luxembourg and also about 10-15 min drive from airport. It’s also walkable distance to city if you want to walk. The hotel is new and modern, I booked an XL room which size was good however I noticed a strong toilet drain smell throughout the room and corridors of hotels on the floors from the rooms to elevator. This was surprising and slightly disappointing as the hotel is a new build, so you would think the design would have enough ventilation to extract any unpleasant toilet bathroom smells. The room it self was comfortable and good but be aware there is no mini bar with drinks if you want water you will have to pay extra and there is a sign saying vending machine however it was completely empty. The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, noticed some hair that had not been cleaned and also some yellow mould staining by shower tiles that could have easily removed with bleach on it for 2-3 mins. The soap bars were not very good as they melt and become totally unusable after just 1 use, I wish they could provide liquid soaps in a small bottle, it’s much more practical! The restaurant was nice in the evening with its live music/dj and fun atmosphere, the mussels was very nice to eat however the breakfast scramble eggs was very poor quality, very watery. I wonder if it was real eggs or powdered scramble egg?…
Stayed for 2 nights in early June 2022. Difficult to find the entrance if you arrive by public transport as there is no signage on the outside of the building. (Rely on Google images for a picture!). The peace and quiet of Room 103 on the first floor is spoilt by some kind of mechanical sound near to the room which goes off every 2 minutes (water pump / air-con?) - this happens 24 hours a day. Not impossible to sleep through but very irritating nevertheless. Shower and bathroom are very good. No coffee making facilities in the room and no items in the mini bar - not even a bottle of water (which they offer you at reception as though you have won the lottery - LOL). Mini-bar on first floor directed you to a vending machine for snacks and drinks - but it was completely empty and unplugged. Expensive for what it is but then again, it is Luxembourg.…
I stayed 4 nights, the first 2 at a reasonable price but the 2 last were very expensive (weekend and marathon). The room did not have a kettle or a coffee machine. Water only at checking. Surroundings not beautiful but you can take the bus or the tram to go to the centre.
