Convenient location only 2 minutes from central station with bus, train and tram links. Supermarket, bars and restaurants close by. My train arrived before check-in but I was allowed to leave luggage and offered a toilet and refreshments until room was ready. Hotel is very secure with room keycard also opening front door and allowing access to the lift. Hotel and room decor is very modern and quite striking. Good aircon, automatic blinds and tilting windows made it easy to get the temperature just right. Good sized safe, kettle, teas, coffee and bottled water all provided. Little extras like slippers, toiletries and massive rain shower added to the experience. Breakfast was available at a nearby hotel for an extra charge but I chose to use the excellent fridge provided and bought some food from the nearby (1 minute) Monoprix supermarket. Fully recommend and am already planning a return.…
Lovely hotel in some ways, though not 24 hour reception, which you need in a rough area like this. Look, it is good in terms of its rooms and friendliness of staff, BUT a terrible area...unless looking to get in touch with homeless, aggressive people. And I am a six-foot, aggressive-looking bloke. Spend extra and stay in the city centre.
Hotel JJ32 (named thusly because it resides on Rue Joseph Juncker) is one of the best-designed and appointed hotels in which I have stayed. It lies a block away from Luxembourg City gare. My room had separate rooms for a shower and a toilet...and each room had: a mirror, a sink, and a trash can. (There was a third mirror in the main room along with a third trash can.) Spacious and very clean. Loved the size of the shower and that it had a door that prevented water from getting onto the bathroom floor. A refrigerator and a spacious layout for storing clothes and luggage made it an easy stay of six nights. The staff were incredibly warm and hospitable. The bed could have been firmer. There are several grocery stores on the street. And the only other thing of note is the oddity of there also being several strip clubs on the same block. Highly recommended for location and ease of walking to or tramming to the Upper Town.…
We enjoyed our stay at JJ32. Checkin was annoying because we were jammed into a hallway with another couple, but after that small hiccup, everything was fine. Our room was over the street, and we weren't disturbed by any noise from other rooms or below. We even overslept. The room was clean and comfortable, though it is very small. Staff was friendly and helpful, even tho the front desk is not 24/7 we came and went as we pleased and had no issues. Good Wifi. The neighborhood is apparently not good by Lux. standards but we found it to be safe and unremarkable. Location is convenient to the train station and not too far from some restaurants, but may not be convenient to much else.
I read reviews on the hotel on Trip Advisor a night before my departure, so I was very nervous. However, I was very pleased with my choice. Yes, the entrance is small and there is no lobby, but I personally don't travel to hang around in the lobby. The reception is not there 24/7 but there are numbers you can call in case of an emergency. The hotel is in a noisy neighbourhood, but I could not hear anything when inside. The rooms are decent size and clean, the beds comfortable, the ACs working. The bathroom and showers are great, there is a hairdryer, and basic toiletries and slippers provided. There are a few super markets, a pharmacy and a wide range of restaurants within walking distance. The main station is also near by (which is not the best place, but I never felt unsafe) which means you can easily catch a bus or train to where ever you want to go. The staff was nice and courteous and spoke fluent English. Overall, I had zero issues.…
Having read some reviews I thought I should give my take on hotel. We got the bus from the airport, about 20/30 mins, really easy. 3 min walk from bus stop. Very thin hallway with small reception desk. Dropped bags off as too early to check in, but check in was easy. Lift to rooms, bright, clean and colourful, small fridge, water, safe, little Juliet balcony. Room was big enough and bed comfy. Some reviews said the area was shady however this was not our experience, there are a few bars and restaurants about and in walking distance to town and square or you can jump on many of the buses for sightseeing. We went for the Xmas market which was ok but been to better. We did hear some noise from the little bars but nothing that interrupted our sleep. It was a good base but if you looking for a big hotel with lobby then look elsewhere.…
Nice modern room but poor nights sleep due to noise from the road outside and the large number of seedy bars in the district. Also rather overpriced considering that there is no breakfast included in the price of the room
The entrance is not convincing at all, but wait... The room is very nice, good quality built, new, attention to details, modern design, all utilities and a spacious shower. Located in walking distance from the train station.
This hotel is located about a block away from the railroad station, which seems to be the only negative ever mentioned. Even so, we did not find the neighborhood to be sketchy, even late at night. Just a few advertisements for gentlemen's clubs. No signs of homelessness or filth. Certainly nothing like we see in San Francisco all over town. We actually found it very convenient since we did take the train one day and it seems that all buses stop at the train station. Easy walk to city center and to the Grund. Lots of interesting bakeries and restaurants around. There is no real lobby, but there is an elevator. The rooms themselves are spacious and modern with hardwood floors and a balcony. Everything looked new and well-cleaned. The windows can be opened and they have those roll down screens that block out noise and light. The shower was large and the bed comfortable. You must have your key card to enter the premises after 11PM, so it is pretty secure. There is someone manning a reception desk during the day.…
After a wonderful stay in Tournai Belgium we headed to our next location, JJ32 in Luxembourg City. Located not far from the Train Station it is surrounded by sex shops, bordellos, night clubs and sleazy bars. If this is your thing... have at it. Unlike teeaye610, we chose not to stay and subject ourselves to the neighbourhood. Trying to check in, in a hallway off the street? No thanks. The hotel's website was deceptive and deceiving. We booked in July 2019 for a November 2019 visit. Fortunately, booking.com was able to cancel our reservations and we ended up in Differdange at Gulliver Tower, a beautiful, clean, new, hotel 15 minutes away from Luxembourg City centre.
