Located at the very centre of Valletta, on the doorstep to the legendary Strait Street, The Embassy Valletta Hotel welcomes you to an immersive city experience. This Valletta hotel stands on the site where one of the first hotels in Malta welcomed guests in the 1800s. The location is as strategically important now as it was then, between the quaint yet vibrant Strait Street and the most important avenue in Valletta, Republic Street. In whichever direction you wander when stepping out of the hotel, you are never more than a few steps away from delightful restaurants, historic bars, and all the cultural attractions that the 2018 European City of Culture and UNESCO World Heritage site has to offer. Let our team of ambassadors tap into their knowledge of Valletta’s most popular attractions and hidden gems to craft your personalised and memorable itinerary.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.

This is an excellent hotel, located in the heart of the walled city of Valletta. From the moment I stepped thru the doors the staff were welcoming, helpful and thoughtful. Elisa, the guest service director checked on me several times to assure our stay was going well. The room was wonderful with a porch over looking the dome of Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. A very pleasant spot for the morning coffee I could make in the room. The room was well appointed with coffee machine, hot water kettle, small refrigerator, robes, slippers, lotion, shampoo etc. the bedding very comfortable. A carafe was provided to have water from a dispenser in the hallway as the water from the tap is not suitable for drinking. The breakfast served by the hotel (included with my room by prior arrangement) was a great way to start a day of exploring Malta. The heated pool on the roof is lovely and although the roof top bar was closed for updating during my stay I was able to bring a drink from the lobby bar up to the roof to see what a spectacular venue the roof top bar is. The bar offered a variety of specialty cocktails, of which I was able to try a few over the time of my stay and they were all very good. I must also say that Luca, at the front desk went out of his way to suggest an itinerary from my day trip to Gozo. He printed a map highlighting the attractions, including some “off the beaten path”. I highly recommend the Embassy and will stay there again if I am fortunate enough to return to Valletta!

I stayed 7 nights at this hotel and the stay was what I hoped for! Almost all staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Check in was easy and quick and since the room was ready one hour before the check in time, the staff allowed for early check in. The room was clean and had essential amenities such as coffee and tea maker, safe, cable/satellite channels, toiletries, iron and ironing board, and hair dryer. The breakfast was tasty and had a wonderful variety of eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal, pastries, cereal, and fruits. The pool was much needed and the bar staff were very attentive in drink service. I also opted for a massage with Amis, which was provided in the lower level of the hotel and was a perfect way to end the trip in Malta. The location of the hotel is also perfect with a grocery store steps away (M&S), so many restaurants, and the bus station is about a 10 minute walk.

Hotel stupendo! We chose him for our third time in Malta and he convinced us to come back soon for a fourth. Very central and a quarter of an hour from the airport. Very close to the main attractions allowed us to optimize the time spent. The structure is brand new and is tastefully furnished with particular attention to hospitality and details. The rooms are equipped with every comfort, the bathroom products much sought after, finally a phone worthy of the name and, true gem, iron and ironing board. The space I loved most of all is the rooftop where breakfast is served and on which you can dine or have a simple aperitif enjoying a truly breathtaking view of Valletta. We will definitely be back!

The location for the hotel is ideal especially if it's your first time in Valletta, however I wouldn't chose to stay here again. It's very overpriced for what you get. We arrived late and we were offered a welcome drink which was a nice gesture. We got out room card and we were on the 4th floor. our window faced into a courtroom. A literal courts of justice courtroom which we realised the next day. The bathroom was so small. we were clearly in a corner room and in order to get to the shower, we had to open the bathroom door slightly, step in around the toilet and reclose the bathroom door. My husband is 6ft 4 and a big guy....this was not ideal. We were far too exhausted to bother to say anything but realistically I wish i had complained especially after the amount of money this hotel charged us for a week. Our room was barely cleaned. Sheets were not changed once while we were there. We were constantly left short of towels or the shower mat. None of the handwash, showergel or shampoos were refilled or replaced. By our last day there was none left. The pool and rooftop terrace were not suitable for us to use as there is no shade up there at all. I went out for 30 mins one day and got roasted so couldn't use the facilities from there on. I understand as it's on the 7th floor parasols aren't ideal but there is literally no cover. And the very few seats and beds provided around the pool were taken so early so there was no chance of us sitting near there. Breakfast was very nice, however we found that the earlier you get up and go the better, as it gets extremely busy and the food area is very small and tight. The wallpaper on our ceiling was coming away prob due to the aircon blowing constantly. Drinks prices in the hotel are very expensive compared to everywhere else. The courtyard/lobby isn't manned all the time, so if you sit down and want to have a coffee or a drink inside in the air-con, you have to ask reception so they can send someone down from the main restaurant to serve you. This is not ideal. Overall, yes the hotel is nice - the location is very central but there is serious room for improvement here

Very nice hotel with a great rooftop restaurant with an infinity pool and a magnificent view over Valletta. We only had breakfast there, however. The breakfast buffet was very extensive and high quality, and there was also a good selection for vegetarians and vegans. We received a very friendly welcome at reception. We were given a room at the back because it can be very loud in the old town at night, especially on weekends. All in all, the room was very dark, but that's because of the city itself, so pretty much all the rooms are relatively dark. Only the air conditioning, which couldn't be turned off, robbed us of sleep at night, the air was so dry. The staff were very friendly and helpful everywhere. The staff speaks English. What wasn't so nice was the cleaning of the rooms. The hallway to the room had obviously not seen a vacuum cleaner in the whole 6 days. The bed was only almost made on one day, on other days towels were removed but not replenished. Cables from our technical devices were jammed in drawers and my room card was taken. Inspections, cleaning and repairs on and around the pool were actually carried out every day at breakfast time. That wasn't so great... We also didn't like the fact that we had to state the day before when we wanted to come for breakfast the next day. All in all, these were minor things, but overall they cost us one star. We still felt very comfortable.

My friends and I have just returned from a weekend stay at the Embassy Valletta hotel and we were so impressed, it was fantastic. It was really central, a few minutes walk from the Co-Cathedral and surrounded by lovely little bars and restaurants.
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by friendly staff who couldn't do enough to help us: offering a glass of prosecco each, arranging an early check in, recommending lunch destinations and even taking us to the restaurant so we didn't have to find it ourselves. During our stay they were always friendly and chatty, and continued to assist us by arranging taxis and kindly lending us towels for our boat trip as we hadn't brought any with us.
The rooms were stunning and a good size with simple but stylish decor and all the facilities we needed, including a decent size fridge, coffee machine and a powerful hair dryer (rare for most hotels!). Despite being right in the middle of Valletta, it was surprisingly quiet inside with the windows closed.
But the real WOW factor was the rooftop pool and restaurant with panoramic views across Valletta and out to sea. The sunset was just incredible!
Cocktails were served by the pool (I recommend the Rooftop G&T), towels were provided and there were 6 sun loungers by the pool - not ideal for bigger groups but there was also an upper level sun deck with more seating. There were also some outside sofas, tables and chairs but definitely reserve in advance if you want to be sure of getting one.
The buffet breakfast had an excellent range of options, with both local and international cuisine and those amazing views. We also enjoyed dinner in the rooftop restaurant one evening and lunch around the pool the next day - the food was delicious and service great.
As this was only a short stay we didn't make it to the fitness centre, courtyard bar or cinema but I was so impressed that these options were available right in the middle of the city.
The only improvement to our stay would have been access to a shower on the day of departure (after checking out of our rooms) as we had a couple of hours by the pool before leaving for the airport and had to change in the toilets.
I thoroughly recommend this hotel, you will not be disappointed.
Just a warning to less mobile travellers that taxis can't stop right outside so there is a short walk to the nearest main road but the staff will happily accompany you and carry your bags.

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful experience at the Embassy Valletta Hotel! We are thrilled to hear that you and your friends had such an enjoyable stay and appreciated our central location, friendly staff, and amenities. It's great to know that our team made you feel welcome from the moment you arrived and that you enjoyed the prosecco, early check-in, and restaurant recommendations. We are especially pleased to hear that our staff went above and beyond to assist you throughout your stay. We're delighted that you found the rooms to be stylish and well-equipped, and that you enjoyed the peaceful ambiance despite being in the heart of Valletta. The rooftop pool and restaurant indeed offer a spectacular view, and we're glad you enjoyed the cocktails and the sunset. Your kind words about our breakfast options and the quality of our food and service at the rooftop restaurant are greatly appreciated. We're sorry that you didn't get a chance to use the fitness center, courtyard bar, or cinema, but we hope you’ll have the opportunity to explore these during your next visit. Thank you for your suggestion regarding access to a shower on the day of departure. We will definitely look into this to improve our guests' experience further. We also appreciate your note about the short walk from the main road for less mobile travelers and are glad our staff could assist with the luggage. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Embassy Valletta Hotel in the future. Thank you once again for your glowing recommendation! Warm regards, Elisa Guest Relations Manager

We spent as a couple the Christmas days in this hotel were very friendly welcome could also easily switch to another room this had nicer views .Location of the hotel is perfect in the middle of the city Our room was a bit duster not much daylight . The breakfast room very narrow and not attractive due to the windy weather the outdoor area was closed No Christmas atmosphere in the hotel . We left early in the morning and could not take breakfast so no one informed us about it we were then charged a breakfast from the day of arrival which we were offered that we found very petty and inappropriate. Otherwise very nice staff.

We stayed for five days in this hotel and enjoyed its location, very close to the main attractions and restaurants, very pleasant for an evening walk. The staff was always attentive to our needs and we especially thank Aleksander from reception. The room was nicely decorated, spacious, equipped with comfortable beds. The Courtyard restaurant, which is located on the first floor of the hotel proved great for a quick meal. And then, last but not least, the most scenic point of the hotel, the pool on the terrace on the seventh floor, enchanted me and I could not help but take panoramic pictures of Valletta. I recommend this hotel especially to first time visitors to Malta.

We just returned from our holiday and stayed at this beautiful hotel, very nice, clean, sophisticated and welcoming. Our room for three people was large and equipped with every comfort with bathroom products of excellent quality. The breakfast really very good and varied: it is a buffet, but really there is a wide choice for all tastes. A significant plus is the location on the roof of the hotel where you have breakfast overlooking the city and with a wonderful swimming pool available to hotel guests. I would like to emphasize that this is a pet friendly hotel. We brought our little poodle who was greeted with smiles and lovingly throughout the hotel. In the room available a pillow for his bed and bowls. We obviously respected all the rules of good manners to not disturb anyone, so our little dog was always on a leash, near us and during breakfast under our table. We would like to thank so much all the breakfast and lunch staff (wonderful their Burgers) on the Rooftop who always welcomed us with great professionalism, kindness and courtesy, especially Jamie and the girls always attentive to our needs. Our holiday was special also thanks to them. We had a little less empathy with the reception staff who seemed a bit aloof, less smiling and welcoming. Wonderful manager always kind and made sure that everything was perfect! Thank you Embassy, we will be back without any doubt

Arrival tricky as located in side street but greeted very well. Usual issue with these late checkins but stored bags and we changed in big bathroom. Room was superb very smart livery bathroom and accessories and the usual shower gels but Occitane. if they fill it up with that. Breakfast lovely always stocked space to sit get busy if want balcony get there early. Pool lovely has sun loungers in roof but if lucky get round pool. The edge to pool needs a deep clean mould under surface all the way round and screw sticking out from the wooden top going round. Not nice. Room cleaning not through didn’t change coffee mugs or top up shower stuff i popped out to ask and the room maid left the door open to another room when she went to get which is really bad. Gym was great clean and empty of people so that was good. Got taxi from hotel booked by them on way back meant to be smart black car that comes up back street to a void steep hill with case but we had to walk to road and wait for a bolt taxi which we could of got ourselves for 10euros less
Don’t get room on the side alley ! all night a horrible neighbour left his dog barking while he loaded and unloaded. a car can’t understand why i’m the only one who has raised this ! madness he’s a local said he puts up with the noise from bars and restaurants so it’s tough. his dog hanging over balcony yapping barking for hours terrible couple of nights. Don’t go with the hotel gozo company they use as it doesn’t stop at blue lagoon use Yippee brand new quads and much better offer the gozo company had old quads and all very rushed. Overall smart hotel great central location but comes with price of noise at times. Issue the hotel let people come up to pool and view it so randons always there who are not guests which is very wrong they don’t have access to other floors but. an sue stairs either way shoild be kept for guests only.
