I have to say, I booked this trip to Malta, Valetta at the last minute but what a find, this hotel is really so well situated for all the key sights nearly all within 10 mins or less. There’s an ATM close by. Mark the owner as a family business, local was there in time breakfast. When checked in which was very late it was all organised and took just a moment. I had phoned ahead say I would arrive late but the desk is open 24/7. Local sighting bus tours and trips to the blue lagoon and Gozo etc can be booked outside the entrance to St Elmo Fort 5 mins walk from the hotel. The views of the harbour from it are wonderful. There’s a a really nice cafeteria next to it and it has a great track out the back with great views of the sea and very reasonably priced. I took lunch here. The fort will take you at least 2 hours. The Barrister well named as your in the Courts, Advocate location in Valetta. The hotel is very maintained and it’s small but upmarket my room 11 as a solo traveller was comfortable spotlessly clean, a juice crisp minibar Breakfast was 730am until 10am, 11am checkout. I actually leave tomorrow but I can’t say enough about Mark and his hotel. Breakfast continental style but plenty of choice and all the staff I met where extremely friendly, professional and incredibly helpful. If need to know anything about vista just ask Mark, he had every base covered. My room was quiet and well situate a short climb up a few stairs or you can take the lift. What can I already even before I leave tomorrow, 20 out of 10 Mark, what great place you have. Thanks for a great stay. If I come back I know where I’ll be staying again !!!

Very friendly staff, from the front desk clerks to the breakfast barista to the owner manager Mark who expresses well his passion for what the tourist should see/do in Malta. We took up on Several of his advice and were well satisfied. As has been noted this is a very well situated hotel in historic Valletta, close to all attractions. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The bathroom felt a bit tight especially the shower cubicle and the mirror above the sink could benefit from a light above it to make it easier to shave or put makeup on! The rooms were made up everyday and the breakfast had a good selection of items including fresh fruit and cereal and coffee was prepared to order and served at the table - features we much appreciated. We enjoyed our stay here - having made our reservations through HotelSlash.

Wonderful stay at the Barrister. The hotel definitely exceeded our expectations.
Our room, #14, was quite large and nicely decorated. It had a large King Bed, large walk in shower, large wardrobe for hanging clothes along with a lower drawer big enough to store the rest of the clothes we needed for our 6 nights here. The room is on a corner with 3 windows so natural light was amazing and the windows were absolutely sound proof. Small fridge stocked with no charge soft drinks as well as Nespresso machine were perfect! Easy to use light switches and abundant power sockets round out the small things that can make or break a hotel stay.
Breakfast was tasty and healthy, coffee, juices, cereals, cold cuts, hard boiled eggs, cheeses, fruits, breads, croissants, waffles, yogurt as well as an assortment of very nice jams and peanut butter. What more does one need?
Location is on a very quaint street in a typical Valletta neighbourhood. Close to the geographical centre of the city, 5 minutes walk from the main gates. Easy to find. We took the city bus from the airport and walked with our luggage to the hotel in under 7 easy minutes from the main bus station for Valletta.
The staff is another highlight, we were greeted nicely upon arrival and were treated well whenever we interacted. I would say Mark was a pleasure to meet and talk with but so was all his staff!
The only place we will stay when in this Country!
Cheers Alex and JoAnn

Where do I start! This is our second time staying at The Barrister hotel and all I can say is WOW! When you arrive you are greeted by the reception staff all absolutely lovely! Very attentive and always there to help. Mark the owner is amazing he is very knowledgeable and gives you excellent recommendations for food in Malta as well as tours & trips he is the heart of that place and it just shows because the hotel runs smoothly all the staff are happy!
We booked the room with the hot tub which I just love because it shows you how beautiful is from the roof top showing all the naturally beauty of Valletta especially at night time! Beds were comfy was like sleeping on a cloud, room was cleaned daily & fresh towels provided couldn’t fault the cleaning guy he was lovely and made sure the hot tub was the right temperate for us getting back from our trips! Thank you again
Thank you to all the staff in The Barrister & we can’t wait to come back on our next trip!

Well, this might take a while! Barristers is smart and 'trendy' with spacious rooms, good breakfast selection, and exceptional staff. Every member of staff had a smile, would chat and offer suggestions of things to do. Bathrooms are spotless and spacious. Housekeeping was perfect. Clean and fresh. But....there's always a but! Around the corner from the hotel are THE loudest bars on the planet! One had a live band playing in a confined area. The other has a DJ. Both keep going until 11pm or 1.30am EVERY night. We were moved to a different room quickly, but even earplugs didn't help. Do not expect a full night's sleep. Sadly, despite it being a really nice hotel, I could not return.

We enjoyed a lovely week in Malta and were so pleased to have selected the Barrister Hotel which was ideal in every way. The room was comfortable and very clean and housekeeping standards were high. Continental breakfast provided all one could want to start the day and there was the bonus of the owner, Mark, providing information, advice, directions, maps, historical context and background..... every hotel should have such a person! The location is excellent, only a short walk to local cafes, bars and restaurants and various tourist attractions like the main cathedral, but also very quiet at night. There is some live music outside various places, which we enjoyed, but it doesn't go on too late. Every where we went, on Malta and on neighbouring Gozo, we felt very safe by both day and night. Nothing to fault, would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

Fantastic experience: hotel located in the center (near Republic Street) with the possibility of reaching the various tourist destinations on foot or by bus. Spacious, clean, warm, soundproofed rooms. Upon arrival at the hotel we were given the opportunity to choose the room based on our preferences. Tea, coffee, snacks and soft drinks are located in the minibar fridge and are provided free of charge. Friendly staff attentive to guests' needs. Very satisfied with the stay, recommended to all travellers.

If all you need is kindness from the staff, a spotless room, a comfortable bed, a nice bathroom with a quite large shower, a tasty breakfast including sweet and savoury foods, being in the city centre but not so as to be annoyed by the nightlife buzz, then the Barrister Hotel is the hotel for you. Excellent price-quality ratio, the kind receptionists are willing to help the guests with suggestions and recommendations and even booked our taxi to drive us back to the airport. In your [small but] lovely room you'll find lots of amenities - not only hair drier, shampoo, toothbrush, conditioner (!), but also iron and ironing board. Don't look for a large lobby with sofas and a bar, entertainment is not inside the hotel, but outside there Valletta has a lot to offer. Thank you Barrister Hotel.

We initially booked for 2 nights and stayed for 3 nights. We stayed in 3 different rooms. All 3 were fabulous especially the in with the hot tub. It was my husbands birthday. It was our 1st visit to Malta so we wanted to wait and see if we would prefer to stay somewhere else other than Valletta, therefore we didn’t book anywhere else. The beds were all very comfortable. It’s family run and as a small boutique hotel it is superb in comparison to the other hotel we moved to in Valletta. All rooms have windows on to a small street. The hotel has double/triple glazing so you don’t hear any noise. Breakfast was continental but I believe there are plans to have a kitchen & restaurant soon. There is no bar but there are lots in the vicinity. Casa Soto nearby is a super pizzeria & Gracy’s opposite it is excellent. Emma & Mark both speak English and were able to advise us on where to visit locally and what to avoid! We loved Valletta & didn’t leave except for 2 days & nights in Rabat/Mdina at the end of our week’s holiday. If you love Valletta you’ll enjoy Mdina/Rabat too. More cultural than St Julian & Sliema which is just full of high rises & bars. We weren’t looking for that kind of holiday. Rabat has more Michelin star restaurants than any other small village I’ve ever been to. Not too expensive either by Irish standards! Definitely worth a visit.

Dear guest, Thank you for the wonderful comments. We all very much enjoyed interacting with you. It would have been ideal for you not to have to change rooms however, given the late booking and the occupancy levels, this proved inevitable. On the plus side, you git to attest our consistency! Thank you again for the good vibes and great comments hopefully we get to welcome you back! Best wishes, Mark
