Situated in the heart of the glorious capital of Malta, La Falconeria offers its guests the chance to truly experience Valletta´s unique charm and character whilst surrounded by history. Valletta’s Baroque architectural style perfectly compliments La Falconeria’s fine and detailed premises, reminiscent of the Rococo style, allowing you to blend in and become one with the city. There are two sides to this hotel. The front half of the building is hundreds of years old; walking through the entrance, one is transported from the present back to the time of the renaissance nobility, with marble flooring and artistic finishes. The latter half was destroyed in WWII, and was rebuilt in a modern style while in symmetry to the rest of the city. An outdoor courtyard is central to this hotel, providing a tranquil oasis in the open air under the warm Mediterranean sun. These two sides of the hotel along with the modern facilities and luxuries complement the historic feel and live up to the city´s best description: “a city built by gentlemen for gentlemen”.

We carefully chose this boutique hotel for its location and excellent reviews. We had a very comfortable and large twin room with an enclosed traditional Maltese balcony with city views. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were welcoming and very helpful. We took advantage of their offer to arrange transport to and from the airport at a modest cost. This was the wise decision in view of the steep streets!

Location was ideal with several nice restaurants and bars close by and it's only 10 minutes to Republic Street and Merchant Street, St John's co cathedral or the upper Barakka gardens. The bus station is a similar distance and the public transport system works extremely well. Additionally there is a small bus that works a route around the old town and the nearest stop is only two or three minutes from the hotel.

Bathroom was well provisioned with good shower and we had in room facilities for making hot drinks together with a coffee pot machine and a much appreciated fridge. A jug of fresh drinking water was provided each day.

The included breakfast was excellent with a variety of choices together with some optional extras which would require additional payment. Everything was cooked to order.

I would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a central location but a nice quiet hotel with friendly helpful staff. A particular mention to Patricia on reception who was extremely kind, to Manisha in the breakfast team, not forgetting Raja and Anand.

I spent 4 days over Christmas at this lovely hotel in a large double room with a balcony. I couldn't fault the room - large comfortable bed, powerful shower, fluffy towels and bathrobe, all the usual amenities and despite its very close proximity to Republic Street, it was very quiet. Breakfast was a very good choice of buffet and cooked to order items and one could pay extra for a la carte items, but I didn't feel the need to. The staff throughout the hotel were without exception courteous, efficient and helpful.

Republic and Merchant streets are a short walk away and, together with little connecting streets and alleyways, you'll find a wide selection of bars and restaurants to choose from.

Highly recommended.

Booked a 4 day trip for our 35th anniversary through Last Minute.com and selected the La Falconeria as our hotel. Nestling in a side street off the main shopping street, it is opposite the French Embassy so boasts it’s own 24hr armed guard! The hotel is modern, clean and well placed for a stay in Valletta. A 10 min walk from the bus drop off point and easy to find. We stayed in room 102 which is directly above the reception and was well positioned with views of the embassy (although nothing seemed to be going on!). We emailed prior to arriving to request an iron and had an immediate response from Ana who ensured one was in the room. The room itself was spacious, clean with a nice shower/toilet. Breakfast is served in the small restaurant next to the hotel and accessed via reception. The staff there were extremely polite and helpful and the food was very nice and plentiful (although the baked beans were a bit rationed!). They only offer breakfast but we had enough to see us through the day before finding somewhere to eat in the evening. The plunge pool is great after a full day out in the sun and the small gym was tempting but we were on holiday!! The only thing to pick fault with was due to the type of flooring in reception, guests coming in late and speaking loudly echo’s around the area and woke me up on the first night but there is not much the hotel can do about that! The rest of our stay the noise was minimal. We would highly recommend the hotel as a base for exploring Valletta due to its location, comfort and exceptionally helpful staff.

A group of us stayed for 3 days at this beautiful, friendly hotel in Valletta, prior to boarding a cruise. This hotel was the ideal place to stay, with easy access to the sights of the town and a great selection of local restaurants.
The staff here have been outstanding, particularly Raja and Mayar on reception. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They have helped us with restaurant selection and bookings and sightseeing trips, all the time advising us on the best value for money.
The rooms are big and comfortable and surround a nice open air courtyard. Breakfast selection is excellent, try the porridge, it’s delicious.

Easy and friendly check in and up to our fourth floor room with traditional enclosed balcony and views over the rooftops. Spacious bedroom and bathroom with high ceilings. Despite being in the city centre, and close to major Valletta sites, the room was dark and quiet at night.

Breakfast was part buffet, part a la carte cooked to order, and of good quality. Limited range because of size of restaurant and modest number of rooms. Staff visible, helpful and friendly. Restaurant not open for evening meals anymore but there were good alternatives nearby. The bar didn't seem to be open but would perhaps would have been opened up should anyone enquire.

The small plunge pool in the cave like basement was an unusual but pleasant experience.

The hotel is the perfect location for exploring Valletta, the stop for the Malta Sightseeing Bus is also only about a 10 minute walk away. I would especially like to thank Mayar and Raja on Reception, they are a real asset to the hotel, so welcoming and helpful. Raja helped with the purchase of our Sightseeing Bus tickets.
There were plenty of options for breakfast.
The only negative about the hotel is the fact the rooms face an internal courtyard, and the sound from guests shutting hotel room doors/staff cleaning/people walking up and down corridors, during the night/early hours can be heard, this did affect my stay as I am a light sleeper. Due to this I did ask if there were any quieter rooms available however I was told the hotel was full, and the noise was out of their control because it was caused by other guests slamming doors and the echo is in all of the hotel. Overall I would recommend this hotel, however if you are a light sleeper you do need to be aware of some of the noise issues.

Thank you to La Falconeria for making our first trip to Malta everything that we could wish for and more. The location in Valletta is perfect; close enough to the many historic sights, restaurants and shops yet quiet and safe surroundings to relax after a hard day of culture (of which there is so much). First and foremost thanks to Anna on reception for looking after us when we arrived, during our stay and when we left, and to Daniel for the kind leaving present; all the staff were a credit to the hotel: the breakfast team (special mention to the chefs: wonderful eggs) and the cleaning team, who were all welcoming and courteous. The room was superb, so spacious and comfortable. We would definitely come here again and would not hesitate to recommend it to all. Also want to mention the nearby Gambit Bistro & Bar (5 mins up the hill of Old Bakery Street), fantastic food (we went first and last night of 3 night stay!) and amazing cocktails.

My wife and I are still basking in the warm memories of our lovely week in Malta (Aug. 30 through Sept. 4), in part due to our selection of a great hotel, La Falconeria. Though small and lacking drawer space for unpacking a week's supply of clothing, our room was modern, clean and comfortable, as was the hotel in general.
The dining room was pleasant to dine in and the breakfasts of high quality, with both served menu and selfservice buffet. The location of the the hotel was convenient and only a short walk from Valletta's main street.
What was most outstanding about La Falcoeria was it's warm, friendly and accommodating staff. Of the countless hotels in which we have stayed, this staff was exceptional. We want to extend a special thanks to Daniel of Conierge Services, for his help and assistance in all areas of tourist information and and tours. His vast knowledge, information, and warm empathetic manner made our experience in Malta truly special.

Stayed here with my mother in April. We had booked two beds but the room was set up as one; we had to spend the first night like this as there was no one room fix the situation. The room itself was nicely appointed although quite small; we had booked the cheapest room and unfortunately it was a bit noisy and only had a window to a courtyard. Breakfast was absolutely lovely, really delicious with great staff in the cafe. Great location and near everything in central Valetta.

We went to golden bay beach twice while we stayed here, it's about an hour on the bus, we bought travel cards for €21 each, they give you unlimited bus travel for 7 days or it's €2 per person signal trip anywhere. There is another beach a bit further away but golden bay is our favourite, the buses are every 30 mins from the main bus terminal in Valletta.
