(+) The Duke hotel is located close to the city center, 5-6 min walk from the bus station and 10 min walk from ÄŠittadella. You can actually have a pretty view in one fortress from the 4th floor. There is also a shopping center in the same building and a cafe with nice sweets. I had a big room with a small corner with a table and chair. Safety box, mini bar, small wardrobe, big mirror, tea kettle with tea bags and instant coffee + cream were available in the room as well. I received a personalized postcard and chocolate present for Christmas, which was very cute. It seems some of the rooms have jacuzzi but I was not offered an upgrade. The room 204 was very quiet despite of the shopping mall on the ground floor. The breakfast was very diverse. You could order eggs the way you like them the be cooked: omelet with different fillings, poached, boiled, etc. The hotel is very responsive and provides the support needed via messages or phone call. (-) The hotel positions itself as an environmental caring place, which can be noticed in the glass bottle with purified water and not taken towels, if they are not on the floor, which is great. However, one time I came back to the room and light was on in all possible places. I also did not get, why there were so many personnel on 24th and 25th of December during breakfast service and only 2 on the 26th. I had a small balcony but no window in the room.

I went to this beautiful hotel for 3 nights between Christmas and New Year with my husband and 11 year old son. Reception staff was incredibly helpful from the first day that I booked our stay, answering my queries and returning my calls immediately.
Reception Reception staff is very helpful and professional. We were provided with all the information we needed when checking in and gave my son a small gift. They were very caring and on the last day, my son and I decided not to go down for breakfast. When we checked out, they asked us if we were feeling ok and if we wanted to grab something on the go for our trip back home! How nice is that?!
Room
The room was incredibly spacious. I am usually wary when booking a room for three persons as usually the beds are crammed together and the room is small but this was definitely not the case!!
We had a room with a window with no view (we book these rooms as we do not spend a lot of time in the room) and the room was incredibly clean and filled with all amenities. Towels were already heated on the towel racks and we were provided with face cloths, slippers and bath robes. Bathroom was also provided with shower gel, shampoo and conditioner as well as shower cap, a vanity set (with cotton buds etc) and a small sewing kit. The room is equipped with a stocked mini fridge, coffee and tea making facilities and was provided with a bottle of water every day.
Cleaning staff was also very sweet and professional, greeting us when they see us in the corridors.
Breakfast Breakfast is buffet style. We enjoyed the availability of pastizzi and qassatat during our stay, which are local traditional pies. I also liked the fact that items were different every day.
Side notes With our booking, we were offering a discount card to be use in the majority of the outlets in the Duke's shopping centre and we were also given a parking space, which was Godsend as parking in Victoria can be a headache.
Highly recommended and will definitely visit again!

Super-attentive, kind and helpful staff. The Standard Room was perfect for me as a solo traveller - a lovely and comfortable room to rest my head, feel relaxed and make my plans for the day! The bed was so comfy, en-suite bathroom was perfect and being able to adjust air-con to my temperature made it a beautiful breeze to relax.
Right in the heart of bustling Victoria - easy for lunch and dinner options nearby. Love Greens supermarket downstairs for snacks and a cheeky bottle of wine if you don't feel like going out - and for other essentials.
The room was always perfect when I asked for it to be made up.
Close to Cittadella, Pjazza San Gorg and the bus terminal - a perfect place to stay and enjoy, explore and entrench yourself into the gem of Gozo.
Love, love, love!

This is a wonderful place to stay We have stayed on many occasions and Sharon and Jason and all the staff in reception, in the dining area and in the main hotel are all so helpful and friendly.Nothing is too much trouble for them and they make our holiday so special. The rooms are very well maintained and kept very clean by the hardworking ladies and gents who are always there each day and however busy they are always have time for a cheerful smile. There are lovely pillows and duvets on the comfy beds and dressing gowns and slippers and all toiletries provided and replenished when required. Also lovely breakfasts with very varied menus that also caters for individual needs. The supermarket under the hotel is so useful and so is the discount card, which can be used in many shops by the supermarket, which you receive on arrival.Fantastic for a shopaholic like me! We are really looking forward to our next visit in the not too distant future.Deserving of a 10 out of 10 rating in our opinion

Located absolutely perfect for all of Gozo. The citadel as the main attraction is within easy walking distance. All other places can be visited evenly by hop-on hop-off bus, public buses or cheap taxis in all directions. The hotel itself is in the middle of a very nice shopping center with a great supermarket. The rooms are large, pleasantly furnished, offer plenty of storage space, safe, refrigerator, air conditioning, instant coffee and tea, many mirrors. You need power adapters, but at both beds and at the desk there are USB ports, type A and C. The TV is not internet enabled, but has a lot of international channels. We had a jacuzzi room which was great, and there were bathrobes, pool shoes and sun loungers with towels. Breakfast is really excellent. There are good cereals, all kinds of coffee, all kinds of freshly prepared eggs and lots of sweet things. You really don't miss anything here. The whole house is very clean, and the service without exception extremely friendly and helpful. We would always come back here. Definitely a recommendation!

This lovely little hotel in a central part of Victoria is a 'must stay' for anyone travelling to Gozo. Close to all amenties including being built on top of a shopping plaza, a supermarket, restaurants, cafes, banks and public transport, this home away from home suits solo, couple and family travellers. The rooms are extremely clean, the amenities abundant, beds comfortable, pillows heavenly, bathroom appointed with towels, bath mat, heated towel rail, face washers (including a black one for make up removal), towelling gowns and slippers, with the usual condiments of soap, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The mini bar and room service prices are extremely reasonable if you don't feel like leaving your room, or you have a late night fancy. The breakfast, included in the price, is a great selection for all travellers alike. Cereal, juices, fresh cheeses and meats, various breads, bacon, sausages, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, coffee any which way you like it, pastries, the list is endless. The staff are delightful, acknowledging you as soon as you enter the hotel. The wait staff are friendly and engaging and the service staff all have happy faces and always speak. I have stayed here 3 times now and the price is always reasonable for the time of year. Not to be missed

Lovely hotel situated in the upper floors of a shopping mall with a very nice coffee and cake shop below .The views from the balcony of the street and the Citadel are great for relaxing. What makes this small hotel really great is the staff. From the reception team to the cleaning staff everybody had a smile and no request was too trivial. On arrival they recommend excellent restaurants in the area two of which we sampled and were great. They also facilitated bookings of trips and made on request our restaurant reservations. The breakfast was generous with a good choice of continental items and the option to have something cooked also. I visited with my father who is turning 90 and the team made us feel very welcome. Rooms were impeccable with decent shampoos , robes and slipper to borrow. Located 5min walk from the Citadel in the centre of Victoria the location was also excellent.

We had a hot tub room for me and my two teenagers. The manager was incredibly helpful via email and phone in changing my room reservations and accommodating a third person in one room with three separate beds. The rollaway was very comfortable, and the bed was a legit king sized that they split into two twins for us. Everything was clean and worked. Hotel is situated in a mall with reasonable clothing (when your luggage decides to wait a few days to arrive) and a grocery store where we often purchased dinner. Breakfast was lovely- several course meal and not rushed with full service from incredibly nice people. It looks on the map like it's a bad location for travel because it's in the middle of the island, but it's actually perfect. The bus hub for the whole island is 3 blocks away. From there, there are buses that go to all the shore attractions. The bus was easy to use, and the hotel was very accommodating when I called them to set up transportation from the airport for me when we first arrived (for cheaper than I could have set it up for myself). The airport is on the other island, and the manager arranged a taxi to the ferry, to another taxi to the hotel when we arrived. Nice feature after 17 hours of travel! There is basically no laundry service on the entire island except a personal business about a kilometer away from the hotel- dropped off and picked up the next day. There are a billion restaurants within walking distance to the hotel, and the citadel which is pretty at night to walk to to see the stars. If I return to Gozo, I would definitely stay there again without even considering other options.

Not our first stay at The Dukes, it always exceeds our expectations, and we’re already planning a return visit. The staff’s warm and courteous demeanor made us feel pampered and at ease. During breakfast, they thoughtfully accommodated my allergies, even preparing fresh food without any fuss.
Having our own transport was convenient, and the pre-booked parking slot ensured a hassle-free experience. The hotel’s central location in Gozo’s capital city allowed us to explore charming narrow winding roads and visit the nearby picturesque Citadelle. For those opting for public transportation, the bus terminus is just a short walk behind the hotel.

Was looking forward to staying at this hotel for the night This is an honest review. Cannot fault the staff that I did meet as they were lovely and helpful but I stayed in one of the rooms for a night and found the sheets to have a yellow tinge to them and not crisp white sheets that you would expect when going to a hotel and I have been to many. In my honest opinion the bed had been slept on previous to my stay, the bedding smelt a bit and my side of the bed was crinkled, the other side wasn't and could just tell that a couple pillow case smelt a bit musty and not clean and fresh . The rest of the room however was very clean, room service was good and the food that I ordered was lovely but the experience was just spoilt by something simple like NOT changing the bedding. Whether a coincidence or not the day after I got a big rash on the side of my face and a very sore throat for the rest of the week that I was in Gozo. Regardless of whether someone stays in a room for one day the bedding HAS to be changed , especially not knowing what people might have and covid. I doubt whether reception are aware about this but I think that they should have a word with some of the staff who are in charge of the rooms.

Dear Ms Jocelyne, We are very sorry to read your review and are very disappointed not to have met your expectations during this one night stay. We assure you that we change bed linen on every departure, during the stay for stays of more than 2 nights and also upon guest request. We strive to offer the cleanest environment to our guests at all times. We do not seem to have any reports lodged at reception during your stay and would like to investigate further. We have checked CCTV footage from a camera outside the room you stayed in and we can see that the dirty sheets from previous guests were changed as per normal protocol. If you could kindly contact us on 356 27799100 we would like to personally get in touch. We do our best to have only satisfied clients and would like to discuss with you further. Regards Sharon, Director

Good afternoon
Yes, rooms are heated. They are individually controlled.
The rooms are on the building's 4th and 5th floor, and the insulation is excellent. The only rooms we have on Republic Street are The Junior Suite, The Spa Room, and the Presidential Suite, All other rooms do not face the main road. Even though all the rooms are quite

Jason
Good Morning, Thank you for your message. All our rooms are set up with either a king-size bed (2m X 2m) or 2 Twin Beds (1m X 2m) (except the Presidential Suite and the Junior suite which is only set up with a king-size bed). If 4 persons share a room, we will use a sofa bed or folding bed. We do not recommend these types of beds for adults. We do have interconnecting rooms for your comfort. At your disposal

Jason

I didn’t think they offered free parking the parking is accessed by going past the hotel on your left, then go next left and left again and access to the underground car park is accessed at the back.
We have a blue badge and there is a blue badge bay up the hill a little on the opposite side and we left the car there and it was fine. It’s a great hotel and fab location too
Thank you for your message. Yes we have 2 lifts, one of which is reserved for our guests. It is very easy to get around with the buses in Gozo,.. The main bus terminal is only 150 meters away from the hotel. We also have 2 strategic bus stops only 20 meters away from the hotel making it extremely easy to visit any location.
We have 5 different room types. The standard rooms do not have a balcony or a view. The Garden Rooms have a balcony overlooking the Villa Rundle Gardens, the Jacuzzi terrace rooms which have a private Jacuzzi tub on their terrace, the Junior Suites which aslo have a larger Jacuzzi and a larger terrace and room. The Presidential suite has its own private terrace and heated pool.
There are more places to choose from in the Victoria area.
