Just had to share what wonderful service we received throughout our recent 6 night stay. From the moment we arrived at reception, until our departure the staff were the most helpful I have experienced in a long time. Rarely do people do more than the basics but whatever our requests, they were met with enthusiasm and a willingness to help. The rooms were well appointed with all of our needs met, and although we found it hard to ‘work out’ the safe, the maintenance guy soon rectified the situation. Breakfast was a little disappointing, with just one temperamental hot drinks machine. The choice was limited so we chose to eat locally in very reasonably priced restaurants and cafes. The roof top pool is an added bonus, and once again the bar staff provided drinks and food with a smile. The food was excellent. We were part of a clubbing festival, so it was very busy by the pool with a great atmosphere, however there were very few sun beds, so it is recommended that they provide more. Whilst it was good fun, non residents used the pool, which again made it difficult to secure a sun bed.

Loved our 17 day B&B stay at The Calypso. We had fabulous panoramic views & sunsets of Marsalforn harbour & bay from our room which was kept spotlessly clean. From management to maintenance the staff were polite & helpful. The buffet style breakfast provided a large range of delectable food to choose from. We would highly recommend a stay at The Calypso.

Booked with Jet2, there last week offering the hotel until next season. The area is in winter wind down but still plenty to see and do.
The rooftop bar area is only open from 12-1900 and was extremely quiet. Staff were lovely and I rate them all highly. Food we had occasionally for lunch was of a high standard and nicely served.
I agree with some other reviews the whole of the outdoor pool area needs a revamp. However the toilets and indoor bar were of excellent quality.
I bet in the summer with the BBQ area open and the music playing it’s a delightful place to spend the evening. Views are amazing.
Breakfast was efficient and fairly high standard. Poached eggs by request were always superb. All fruits and pastries of a high quality. Bacon is the typical European fare. Never left feeling hungry.
We had two second floor rooms next to each other. Both differed in size due to location in the building but both recently renovated and the cleaners were very good. If I had to mark down then the patio furniture could do with a new coat of varnish. Air con didn’t blow ice cold but the temperature was fine to sleep in. Bed was comfortable enough. Tv was a decent size with hdmi ports so you could connect an Apple TV box or amazon fire stick for content.
With the patio door open and the fly screen across you could listen to the chilled vibes of the street below. It didn’t keep us awake at as silent by 10pm most evenings
All in all a lovely hotel and location. I would highly rebook again.

Shabby rooms need updating but main issue you have to climb into the bath to have a shower no grab rails or slip mat and a shower curtain. Tacky and dangerous.
Food well I'm actually speechless the photos or their website are nothing like the offering you get in fact it's not even an offering. Tonight's menu starter was choice of two types of pasta or soup. Main course wafer thin chicken in gravy, fish or cauliflower cheese served with potatoes and buttered spinach. Choice of two desserts.
I have a allergy to cream and last night ended up passed out on the floor being violently ill due to hidden cream. Tonight I checked to be told I could have the pasta in tomatoes (I had that last night) no dessert for me or vegetables as the only choice was buttered spinach. Yuk.
Bring a bath towel as the flat hard Frayed off white towels will rub you sore not dry.
If you have the option to cancel honestly run for the hills.

A quiet 4* hotel in a wonderful location. Unfortunately, the former fishing village is now completely over-touristed, it feels like 100,000 people vacation here in July. The Calypso is the only hotel directly on the harbor/sea and therefore doesn't have to try too hard. Despite a few renovations, the hotel is already quite run down and in many respects no longer lives up to its four-star status. The rooms are small, the bathroom even smaller and there is only a bathtub instead of a decent shower. Room doors cannot be closed quietly. No sun protection on the balconies. The breakfast is wonderful, very plentiful, and the coffee is very good despite being fully automatic. Staff OK.

We were delighted at first. Nice and clean with many amenities. You are near good food. But elevators broke and if you’re on the 5th floor you’ll hear music until midnight. Don’t expect any help from staff-not very friendly. If they clean your room, they’ll shut off all the electricity so you come back to a hot room with nothing charged - not very business friendly, when you need to work in the room and nothing is charged.

Pension is located on the island of Gozo in Marsalforn Bay. The rooms are beautiful and quite spacious. I advise you to take a room "bay view" rather than "land view". We chose the half board formula. Breakfast is in the form of an unlimited buffet with a fairly wide choice. For dinner you can choose between 3 starters, 2 main courses and 2 desserts served at the table. Meals are very good. The staff is friendly and attentive. The Pension does not have private parking but there is public parking 5 minutes walk where we always found room. The beach is opposite the Pension. Marsalforn Bay is a quiet place. Along the coast you will find a multitude of restaurants that offer Mediterranean cuisine close to Italian cuisine. Finally I would like to talk about the ferry from Mgarr (Gozo) to Cirkewwa (Malta). There is a Check-out every half hour and you can ride with your vehicle if you rent one like me.

We recently stayed at this wonderful hotel and from the moment we stepped inside, we experienced a warm and friendly welcome from all of the staff, nothing was too much trouble.
The hotel has the best location, close to the beach and nearby restaurants, with stunning views across the bay. Inside the hotel was clean and comfortable. We had a land facing (budget) room but this was also clean and comfortable, with a narrow sea view from the small balcony.
The breakfast included a good range of cooked and continental food.
The roof top pool was clean and warm, an amazing place to relax and enjoy the magnificent views if you didn't feel like swimming in the sea. However, I must say that the sea was as warmest that I have ever swam in and crystal clear.
I would like to particularly thank Helen on Reception, and the lovely Dutch lady that manages the roof top bar, I think her name is Mareka. Both went out of their way to ensure that we had a very enjoyable holiday.
This hotel has had a few mixed reviews, but my husband and I couldn't fault it, we had one of the best holidays here and will definitely be returning. I will be recommending this to my friends and familiy.

We returned from beautiful Gozo last night, we stayed at Hotel Calypso in Marsalforn (our 6th stay at this lovely hotel). As always, the staff were very welcoming, kind and extremely helpful especially Alexandra, front of house Manager, Lolly and Louise. We stayed in room 212, sea view room with private balcony. The rooms are spotlessly clean, housekeeping everyday, comfy beds, rooms have air con and ceiling fan, coffee/tea making and a very welcome fridge. The roof top pool area is great, clean and plenty of sun loungers available. The location of this hotel is fabulous, bars and restaurants close by, great ice-cream kiosk just outside and amazing views of the bay, sea and little beach. We would highly recommend Hotel Calypso to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing holiday in a very friendly environment. Already looking forward to our next stay.

A very disappointing stay with 8 clients on a trek walking holiday of Malta and Gozo. The hotel is looking very tired and certainly did not live up to its 4 stars. My room at the back of the hotel felt more like a room in a down market hostel. I couldn't spent a minute longer in it than I had to. The bathroom was dated, the shower was so dreadful I put off washing my hair until I had got home, toiletries were underwhelming for 4 stars. There was mould around the bath and the around the base of the toilet was not clean. The towels were too small, old and threadbare. As there were only a few guests dining at the hotel, we had a set menu with 3 choices for the starter and main. The food was badly cooked, in particular all the fish dishes and the desserts were not great - a choice of two rather unpleasant desserts that appeared on the breakfast buffet the next morning. The breakfast buffet felt as though it was being regergetated each morning. It was not fresh and the milk jugs had clearly not been rinsed and cleaned for some time... just topped up and then stored until the next day. It was also deeply frustrating that any time we wanted to order drinks we had to pay for them immediately as we were unable to charge them to the room.

Hi. I think it would be better if you contact the hotel directly. But I believe that since the hotel thought it was necessary to inform you, the noise may spoil your holiday.
