Stayed here recently for two nights with partner and another couple. We shared a two bedroom cottage; contained all the basics including towels. The cottage itself is very out-dated, everything is mismatched as if the owners bought a variety of items from car boot sales over the years just to fill the cottage. Wasn't too fond of the tip jar in the kitchen when we got there! Considering we didn't see a single person working on the grounds during our stay. Each cottage has their own bbq which we made great use of. As our stay was during the Covid-19 pandemic, we had self-service check-in (keys ready on the porch when we arrived with instructions on where to go) there were also a couple of rules regarding the use of the pool. One family group at a time (which I can safely say was NOT adhered to!!!) At one point there were three families from different cottages in the pool for over three hours! No masks and not 2metres apart. You were also requested to shower in your apartment beforehand - another rule I noticed that was not being followed. The resort offer Kayaks and paddleboarding for free. We took advantage of this and loved the kayaks. The lake is very peaceful day and night! With a little more upkeep these cottages could be a fantastic! From what we gathered from speaking to locals in Brockville village nobody had ever heard of the resort which is a shame.

We stayed here after Toronto and on our way to Montréal. It was amazing. 10 cottages by the St Laurence river. The views were amazing. We had cottage 7. The owner was lovely and welcoming. The cottage was rustic and the shower basic. We spent most of our time outside on the porch. We were just by the lovely out door pool. Relaxing and beautiful. We would definitely recommend to all travellers.

I surprised my boyfriend with an overnight stay and we both loved it. The cottages are small and older but are equipped with everything you need. We BBQ'd a fantastic dinner and ate on the deck overlooking the St. Lawrence River. The resort offers canoes and kayaks to enjoy the cove with life jackets and there's a beautiful pool (deepest is 5.5 feet) with nice walkout making getting in and out very easy. 4 firepits are open to everyone and you can buy firewood right on site. This resort is very kid friendly and has a nice play area for them. We are looking forward to our next stay.

First I have to say that the owners here are very nice. We walked into out cottage and it was very clean, we were very impressed. We were in cottage #8 with 2 bedrooms. Beds were reasonably comfortable although one of the beds did make quite a bit of noise when you would move around on it. We had a covered porch which was awesome when it was raining. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cutlery, along with a BBQ for each cottage. There is a gazebo on the property with a foosball table that the kids enjoyed. There is a nice pool but I can't review that because 1, the weather was bad for our first 2 days and 2, there were some drunk guests that basically took the pool over when the weather was nice. We were told because of Covid 19 each group would have an hour at the pool.
This is my only complaint about our stay is that the group that took over the pool were extremely loud and blasted crappy country music from 8:00am until 11:00pm (they were in the cottage right next to us). The management were quite aware that they were very annoying but did nothing about them. We were told by management that if we wanted to use the pool tell them to leave so we could use it. To me that is a management responsibility.
They have canoes and life jackets available at no cost which was great.
Overall we had a fantastic time at Doran Bay Resort, would we go back, possibly. Would be definitely if we wouldn't have had the issue with the noisy neighbors.

This property has ten or so old cabins with small decks facing a meadow that fronts on the St.Lawrence river. The cabin we stayed in was either furnished in a funky style or out of a second hand store, depending on your perspective. They layout was equally odd, with a shower separate from the toilet/sink. For a family staying a few days the many (somewhat soft) beds and adequate (if mismatched) kitchen and dining facilities, would have made for a nice cheap stay. For this couple, visiting overnight on our way through, it was less appealing by far.

Sorry to hear you did not enjoy your one night stay at this rustic waterfront cottages. The vast majority of our guests staying at that cottage 9 have large families and appreciate having the tub/shower being a separate room from the toilet/sink because it allows maximum use of the bathroom facilities especially in the morning. Though all of our cottages have new mattresses, even a brand new mattress may not be as comfortable to the one you are used to at home. I suggest you come back next time and stay a week or so to unwind. I am sure you will write a different review.

The couple that runs the resort is wonderful. They take care of the property and cabins very well. Swimming pool, canoes, and fire pits on site, along with a ship museum. Beautiful views from the cabin porches. Short walk down to the waterfront. We highly suggest staying here.

We had stayed at this absolutely lovely, tranquil resort for approximately 3 weeks in September while our Insurance Company was repairing our home from Winter Storm damages. I can not say enough about the staff and especially the Owners Sim & Bert who went above and beyond to make our stay feel like we were at home with family. We will never forget the gracious way we were treated nor the incredible ways they tried to accommodate my disabilities and our pets. We will always recommend to people if you want to stay in a beautiful location with incredible people stay at Doran Bay Resorts. Lloyd, Donna, Angelina, Sadie, Sandra & Twinkle

This place is absolutely out of this world. My Brother and I recently stayed here and had the time of our lives. Wonderful clean cottages with everything you would need to enjoy a most relaxing time away from all goings on around you. The staff in particular Sema Cunningham is so helpful and very wonderful to chat with. Her husband has put together a most awh inspiring collection of model ships to view in the museum which is located in the front of the big house. We will definitely be returning here in the future, Well done to the Cunninghams! My hat is off to you.

This place was absolutly disgusting, it was filthy, cob webs every where, we were booked in for 3 nights but left after the first night, I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy, the oven was filthy, grease all down the side of it and on the floor, when we spoke to the owner he was very arrogant, one minute he was saying the rooms were cleaned every day and when we pointed out to him all the cob webs and the filthy oven he said he would get it cleaned immediately but we declined as it should have been cleaned before we arrived, the bbq was also filthy, he said it was cleaned after every visit but that was not true, my husband spent a good 20 minutes cleaning it, I have never stayed in anywhere so disgusting
