Detailed Reviews
The building has character and was the offices of a shipping company in 1919. Well converted to an exceptional hotel. The location is perfect for Reykjavik highlights and though the busses do not stop right outside, it is only 200 yds to the front door from #3 pickup/dropoff bus stop. There are numerous restaurants 100 yds away, the Opera House is 440 yds, as is the old port for water tours. Just about everything is within 1/2 a mile so you save on Taxis. There is a Frankfurter stall outside that has queues from about 11 am to 10 pm even in the cold, so it must be good! Pylsar.

We stayed here for 5 nights on a trip to Reykjavik in January 2020. The hotel is fantastic. Very comfortable, clean room with mini fridge and safe. The bathroom had a lovely shower - very powerful and the option of a rain shower too which was a nice touch.
The room was warm and the bed was one of the most comfortable i've ever slept in!
The staff are all polite and very helpful.
The hotel is situated very centrally in the city and yet was very quiet. It's 3 min walk from the bus stop which we used for all our excursions and it was 5 minutes walk from the harbour to do the whale and dolphin watching trips. I would definitely stay again.

Stayed here for two nights in Jan 20. Tried to save a few pennies by booking Radisson rather than an independent boutique hotel and 1919 was great, very stylish surroundings and as a Radisson Rewards member (it's free to sign up) we got upgraded to a superior room (had booked a standard). We were in room 502 and had a huge bathroom, with bath and shower over the bath. King size bed, up in the eves of the hotel so it felt cosy but still had loads of room. Heating was excellent, room was always nice and toasty for when we got back after a day outside seeing the sites. Reception staff were really helpful and friendly. Had a big TV, kettle, even green teabags in the room. The guy who checked us in knew to expect us, I didn't even have to say my name, and we had a lovely little welcome note in the room. Location is the real highlight of this hotel. Everything is within walking distance and we had no trouble finding our way back. We didn't book breakfast so I can't report on that but there are so many choices for all meals close by, we loved the freedom this hotel offered us and the chance to explore. Great base for a brilliant short break in Reykjavik.

We stayed January 21 - 24 in two rooms. The rooms were lovely, very clean, comfortable bed, and a very nice shower. The breakfast was delicious with many options including fruit, meats (hot and cold), cheeses, potatoes, salmon, breads/ pastries, yogurts, kefir, variety of juices and milks plus made to order omelet, eggs or pancakes! And a coffee machine to make espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, etc. These are all wonderful things but the truly best part about the Radisson Blu 1919 is the staff. They assisted with all of our questions regarding the sights to see, restaurants, etc. Then when our flight was cancelled due to weather they were able to honor our very good rate and assist with questions regarding the flights and other necessary items when having to stay another day in country. They were helpful, cheerful, quick and attentive. We will absolutely recommend to our friends and family and hope to stay again one day. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We stopped here for 4 nights. The location is great, a couple of mins walk from the harbour or shops and restaurants. Check in was good, we were 3 hrs early but the room was ready and the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was nice, very clean and had a good bathroom with great shower and bath. The hotel is kind of a square doughnut type shape and our room was facing inwards so we had no view, apart from rooms facing us. Not a problem for us, but if you want one of the outside ones then you get the option of a superior room option, which one assumes would include an exterior view. We stayed on a B & B basis. The breakfast was great, you can help yourself to cooked items (fabulous bacon), cereals, fruit, continental, juices, fish etc, loads of choice and as much as you like. Would highly recommend and would stay here again.

Great hotel close to everything in the older part of Reykjavic. Plenty of variety for breakfast which kept us going for the day. Plenty of bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk but the location of this hotel means it does not really suffer from the noise of evening revellers. Easy access to the port for boat trips plus the bus stop for the airport shuttles and day trips is a couple of minutes walk away. Thoroughly enjoyable stay.

The hotel was very centrally located. Room was basic but comfortable. Bath room size was good. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was very good with a variety of offerings so everyone could find something they like. I emailed the hotel before arrival and they were very prompt in responding and took care of my request. The only thing that surprised me was that they didn’t have any tourist info available (like a map of the city!). Even if a hotel doesn’t have a concierge the front desk can usually provide you with some basic information about the surrounding area or which way to head out to a particular destination. They allowed an early morning check in and breakfast upon arrival which was very much appreciated. The famous hot dog stand was right behind the hotel and we looked down upon it from our hotel window so that was unexpected as it was on our list of things to do.

Like with so many others travel internationally has been on hold for almost a year because of Covid. But that also means that you look for interesting hotels closer to home. So when I found out that the Radisson Blu 1919 in Reykjavik city center had a special offer I wanted to check it out. We had a big and lovely room, the bed big and super cosy. Everything was up to standards. I think there were not many guests during our stay, restaurant was closed so we got our breakfast in a bag delivered to our room. I was surprised because actually this breakfast in a bag was quite good, yoghurt, an apple, warm croissants, bread and a orange juice. All service from staff was wery professional. Location right in city center so if you are doing a weekend trip post Covid to Reykjavik this is absolutely a good hotel to stay in. Many restaurants with in short walking distance. Totally recommend it.

We can really recommend this hotel. We would come back for sure. Close to the harbour and close to the pubs and restaurants, good breakfast. Quiet. Comfortable rooms. Parking not a real problem, 370 ISK per hour from 0900 to 1800, Sunday free

The hotel is located in the centre of Reykjavik and is ideally located for travelling out and about.
We were disappointed there was no bath in our suite especially given the pictures online show a bath in the Junior Suite, unsure if we had the wrong room, or if the pictures are a bit misleading.
Our room was clean, a good size and quiet, with a comfortable bed and all the other things you would expect (bar a bath!).
We did have an issue with payment, in which a mis-communication around payment resulted in a card being charged rather than a holding amount being applied as per every other Radisson I have stayed in. This did end up costing us a good chunk of money due to transaction charges, variations in exchange rates between payment and refund and change between payment dates across cards.
The hotel has no onsite parking, but this was to be expected given its location, and there was nearby parking opposite the marina (a 2 minute walk away) that we parked in overnight (free) and during the day when needed (385 ISK an hour). Breakfast was really nice and accommodated for vegans, we ordered room service on night one after arriving late and the food was very nice. They offered a single vegan option but did offer a second once we spoke to them which was nice.
All in all, it was a nice experience, but a couple of annoyances tainted it, especially after coming from a suite in another Radisson that was literally four times the size for a lower cost (though appreciate this is city centre in an expensive location).
We would consider staying again if we return to Iceland, but wouldn't pay the extra for a suite.

Hi we used Flybus it leaves right outside the airport and drops you off at bus stop 3 which is 5 minute walk to the Radisson Hotel and the same for the return journey bus stop 3 to the airport.
Also while on your stay most trips you book your pick up point will be bus stop 3 except private tours then they will pick you up from the hotel reception make sure you check the pick up point
Approximately 21,000 IKR
I believe that you can get a room with two queens, which is what I booked. We ended up with one King, but didn’t care, we were so tired.
I was going to need parking but then we decided to not rent a car. There is a parking garage near by that is not part of the hotel. I think the rate is 370 K per hour but its best if you email the hotel for more details.
