Detailed Reviews
Everyone that worked on reception during our stay was wonderful! There was one lady specifically who gave us links to websites regarding road conditions so we could decide the best days to drive the Golden Circle & South Iceland. She also helped us book a spa day at a sister hotel! Another receptionist (Steve I think) told us about the 10% discount we could get in the SKY Restaurant.
We wish the staff had better advised us on parking. Parking in "zone 2" is FAR cheaper than in "zone 1" even though they are only steps apart but no one informed us.
The room itself was basic and comfortable, although we weren't a fan of the "wet room" shower. Breakfast buffet was also basic (not a lot for meat eaters).

The hotel was very clean and in a very convenient location. Just one block off the main strip through the city centre made an ideal location to shopping and restaurants. We found most of the staff courteous and helpful. Breakfast was available everyday although it would have been nice to have different options served from day today.

Small hotel but it clean. Breakfast is provided and you can grab additional set to bring it along when you are out. But do remember if you are boiling the water, take note on the maximum allowable water. Do not over fill and boil as it will trip the room electric. Nearby there are many restaurants and pubs for drinking. Be careful whwn you come in winter, the road are slippery even if you have a good shoes.

Convenient location, great price. Good assortment for breakfast. No noise from the Irish bar that people mentioned however road traffic is prominent so take some ear plugs. My room was too cold the first night however the next morning, I realised the temperature dial on the radiator was adjustable. I'd love to have blackout curtains on my next visit as the street lights shine through the curtains.

Our last night here 💜🌃❄️
Hotel is in a perfect location! It's in the city close to all the city's tourist hot spots.
The bus service for all excursions is either around the corner or down the road.
Reception staff have all been very helpful and nothing was too much bother.
Room is clean and plenty big enough for me and my husband.
Tea/coffee etc, simply asked for more at reception when needed.
Radiator had a control on it. Fridge in good working order, hairdryer, lovely powerful shower, shower gel, soap, shower cap, towels.
Lovely big mirrors and full size wardrobe.
Tv was great.
We stayed in room 303 directly across from the Irish Bar, no problems with noise at all.
Room service available if you leave notice on the door hanger, we only had 3 nights so we didn't need it.
Buffet continental breakfast was quite basic with a small selection, but it was lovely nonetheless.
There's really no negatives about this hotel, the ambiance is chilled.
Would absolutely stay here again.

Good location in the city centre. Nice, clean property with friendly and efficient staff. They even let me check in early (uk flights arrive in the morning) as a room was available which was much appreciated by myself.

I stayed at the Center Hotel Klopp for three reasons. It was centrally located to the old city and most attractions. It was one of the cheaper options for a city center hotel. Finally, because it served a buffet breakfast every morning. I was not disappointed with my selection.
The hotel is on one of the main streets in central Reykjavik so it is center for going to the Old Harbor, Opera House, Hallgrímskirkja and in the center of the shopping/restaurant area. It is an easy walk from the Main bus station (BSI) and even to the domestic airport.
The only downside to the location is the noise at night. There are many bars in the area and the hotel is also on a main bus street, so it does get noisy at night.
As for the hotel itself, it was in very updated condition. Carpets, furniture and amenities were in fine shape. The staff were more than courteous and helpful. Room was cleaned daily to whatever specifications you wanted Sheets changed daily, towels changed daily or every three days, etc.). The room was basic, but had everything that was needed for a pleasant stay, A writing desk and chair, large wardrobe with plenty of space and hangers, phone, and TV. Bathroom was small, but everything worked well, it was clean and modern and no musky smells. The bed was large and comfortable.
The breakfast buffet was great as food in Iceland is very expensive. They had a choice of juices, coffee, milk and tea. Several types of bread, oatmeal, cereals, cheese, sliced meats hard boiled eggs, yogurt, various jellies and butter and a toaster. It was well maintained and tables cleaned as soon as they was vacated.
I had only tow complaints. One was the above mentioned noise in the area. The second associated with that problem was the heat in the room. There is no thermostat. Even with the radiator off, the room stayed very warm. That forced me to keep the one small window that you could control open day and night. - and with the street noise, that required me to sleep with earplugs. I've stayed at 5 different hotels in Iceland, and they all share this same problem, so it is not unique to the Hotel Center Klopp.
Despite the noise and heat, I really enjoyed my stay here and would gladly book again. The location, room, breakfast and the staff made it well worth the price per night.

Stayed on a cold stormy weekend so glad room was cosy with a big radiator to dry wet clothes. Kettle hair dryer and fridge very welcome. Breakfast was bread/pastry based plus boiled eggs, pate, pickles, ham, cheese, cornflakes, muesli, plain yoghurt, slices of fruit- orange, melon, pineapple and excellent coffee. Bus stop 14 was convenient for airport transfer. Hotel is central to all. We walked to the bsi bus station to catch a tour, about 20 mins. We also walked to Perlan, about an hour, as we were too early for the courtesy coach from Harpa (which is only ten minutes from klopp). An other ten minutes gets you to the Grandi harbour area where you'll find indoor attractions like the amazing Flyover Iceland. I wish i could avoid mentioning the Irish bar. Its a nice bar. Go to happy hour 4-7pm but other wise bring ear plugs.

Hotel Klopp was centrally located and easy to get to all the sites of Reykjavík as well as tour meeting points. The hotel day staff were friendly and helpful, providing suggestions on restaurants and where to buy simple food supplies as needed. Morning breakfast was plentiful with a mix of oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, toast and meats. Rooms were clean with super comfortable beds and enough space to maneuver around the room with suitcases. Our room faced the Main Street so a little noisy at night but nothing too disruptive. Bathroom was great with power shower, heat control, and shower gel for hair/body. Our stay even included early check-in/out with the rate - worth it for the US flights! Recommend Hotel Klopp while visiting Iceland.

Located in the very center of Reykjavík, you step out onto the street and you're on the Laugavegur pedestrian street, with all the shops, cafes and party bars at your disposal. However, he is not in the thick of the action, so he falls asleep rather peacefully. The hotel looks somewhat old and simple, it does not have great charm and is very standard, but it is basically worth it for the location. The room I was given was on the first floor and was on the corner of the two streets, so some street noise could be heard. But for one night, when I arrived extremely tired, I slept soundly.
Breakfast is surprisingly good - fruit, pastries, cereals, yoghurts - small but adequate.
Of all the options I looked at, this was definitely one of the cheapest. A great recommendation that for value for money is worth it to stay in the center of the city.

It's about a 6-9 minute walk uphill and 5 minutes downhill, but I preferred Bus Stop 6. I ended up changing all of my pick ups from 14 to 6, it's more convenient...about 4-5 minute walk.
Hello,
Center Hotel Plaza is assigned to Bus Stop #1 and it is approximately 3-4 min away.
Best regards,
Gintare
Halló,
Breakfast is served daily from 7am to 10am.

Hello,
Due to COVID-19 and issues with availability, I found it secured to book all my tour/adventure tours from home (New York City) online. However, the Hotel's staff was great in recommending a tour that was not in my plans and I was able to book it online. The hotel's staff even phoned the agency to confirm my purchase. Therefore, you should check with the hotel upon arrival.
Hope this help you make a decision. Enjoy Iceland... you'll love it!
Be safe!
Luis
If it’s once there and once back I’d opt for the fly bus. They have a booth at the airport where you can book a ride on the spot or you can request in advance through their website. It will take you to stop 14 which is about 2 blocks south of Klopp. You could also take a taxi but just be aware it will be about a 45-50 min ride from the airport to the hotel.
