Detailed Reviews
The hotel appears to be quite new, as there was a slight smell of fresh paint. The reception staff were friendly, and spoke good English. The hotel layout is a bit odd, we stayed on the second floor, which meant you left reception and into a corridor outside, back into the building for the lifts and stairs, we walked to the second floor, then outside again along a corridor, then back into the building, up another flight of stairs and into the block where our room was. The room view was the carpark, the room was compact, and the toilet/shower very small. The beds were very comfortable and the the room was clean, the room had a TV which had some English channels and a kettle and fridge. The room did not have a hair dryer, and when we asked for one the staff were unable to locate one. There is no ironing board/Iron in the room. The room lighting was very poor. The hotel does not have a restaurant or bar, however there is a Cafe across the road which is open from 7.30am, and has free refills of coffee. The walk into town is around 30 minutes, or a cab will cost you around £14. Having said all of that, it was a great basic but clean base to stay.

They do not have reception, it is self-check-in. You receive an email the day before with a door code and instructions. The email advises that you can store your luggage there in a secure room. Which is great when you disembark at 9.00 am but check-in is at 3pm. Be sure to ring the hotel because the luggage room code was not included in their email. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and larger than I expected. But the bathroom was too small. It was difficult to sit on the toilet with the door closed and impossible to stand in the bathroom to dry yourself out of the shower. There needs to be a mirror in the bedroom area for grooming because there is only room for one at a time in the bathroom. There are two reasonably priced restaurants (Icelandic prices) within walking distance.

Room Tip: Ask how to turn down the heating. We had the window and front door open to cool it.

Comfortable and located near the city center. Reception self service, we had three rooms, one of them located in a not very convenient point, as there was to go out make steps downhill and others uphill. But the rooms are satisfactory and clean. Parking available. For breakfast they lean on a room located about 200 m from the hotel

I booked the room on 7/03/2024 for 13/07/2024.
Before booking, I called to make sure there was a 24-hour front desk (I am 75 years old and traveling alone) and was ASSURED that the hotel was staffed 24 hours a day and that there would be no problem.
4 days before departure, I was asked for payment, informing me that as of May 1, the hotel offered only "self-service accommodation."
If they had been honest, having changed the booking conditions unilaterally, they should have given me the opportunity to cancel the reservation without charge.
Instead, they just sent me "detailed" entry instructions and an access code. THAT DID NOT WORK.
I found myself at 2:30 a.m. in the pouring rain with no possibility of entering the hotel.
I tried several times to call the help number (even my family from Italy!) and all we got was a recording saying they would call back.
If I finally managed to gain access to the hotel, it was only because another international guest arrived after me and - after trying several times to type in his PIN without success - finally managed to get hold of someone who gave him directions to get in, using a different code, through a keypad hidden under the door handle (not the one shown in the instructions).
It took over an hour.
This morning, when I went downstairs (with the fear of not even getting back in), I was told by phone that the hotel did not have in-house breakfast (paid €17) and that I would have to go to another restaurant a few minutes away. Of course, there were no printed directions or a map to follow at the entrance, and for those who have never been to Reykjavik, it is certainly not easy to figure out directions and street names in Icelandic without having an idea of where to go. Thus I was not even able to take advantage of the breakfast I had paid for.
To have changed the terms of supply without notifying customers is an absolutely dishonest policy, and you put me through a nightmare night.
I've asked for a fair reimbursement (at least the breakfast!), but they did not even bother answer my emails. I paid 200 € for the night.

Nice hotel, very functional, 900 meters from the center of Reykjavik, friendly staff, privacy assured, perfect air conditioning despite the "cool" exterior and the apparent lack of radiators in the room. TV screen with all the information you need to organize a perfect holiday. Adequate price, free outdoor parking.

If it were not for the terrible state of guest services, this hotel would get 5 stars from me.
There are several entries to the hotel with signs saying Room 101-130 etc. You would suppose that your code would work here, but alas.
The check-in instructions from the “service” provider lead you to a specific door, however there is no code assciated with that door so anyone can enter the building from the street, making the stay insecure.
The personnel responding to calls greet you with “Green key” even though you have called hotel Aska telephone number. Situated in a call center with poor sound quality, background noise and heavy indian accent, communication becomes difficult, even more so because the cleaning staff speaks very little english and cannot communicate with the call center.
We were are group of 17 people. There were several issues with breakfast and luggage storage, all complicated because of lack of customer focus(you had to start by explaining the same issue again and again that was not resolved).

I have mixed opinions when reviewing this hotel. For starters, the location is good, 20 minutes walk from the center. Quiet area, with free parking. Supermarket three minutes away. There is a fridge and hairdryer, but no shower cap utensils. There is no reception, you enter with code, which is accessible for arrivals at any time of day/night. However, first of all it is messy to find the room and the code sometimes crashes. Despite this; we had a problem and they quickly solved it by calling us on the phone. The rooms are not bad, although not excessively clean and some quite noisy (depending on whether you are in the entrance or not). The bed is comfortable and the radiators have power. In short, we got a good price and I will say that quality price in my opinion is the best option. If you want something better then you have to pay for it, like everything else.

Why book yourself into a hotel where they aren’t giving you any info about the code to the lock doors outside, so you can technically get locked out of the hotel you booked with. And if you call them for help it’s just somebody in like Microsoft tech support that takes up the phone and will call you stupid if you failed to lock up the door. WORST hotel service i’ve ever experienced! If you want to have trouble to get into your rooms you can book this hotel. If you don’t want stay away!

Recently opened hotel, simple, well located allowing you to reach the center in a short walk. Simple rooms, with minimalist decoration but with a comfortable bed. Large and pleasant shower. Some closet is missing. Breakfast must be taken at a nearby place.
At the back there is a parking area.
The best thing without a doubt is the staff, helpful, efficient and friendly, always ready to help the customer. The attitude of the staff raises the score of this establishment

It’s advertised as a Hotel, it’s called a Hotel but it doesn’t really feel like a Hotel.
No staff, no public space (well there is what looks like a lounge and breakfast room but it’s closed) and no facilities.
What you do get is a keypad number and a clean room that’s probably seen better days.
So why give it three stars, the bed is very comfortable and it’s in a quiet location so I slept well.
If you’re travelling alone and you have any concerns about staying in an isolated block of what are basically flats then this place probably isn’t for you.
Would I stay there again if I returned to Reykjavik, probably not, having seen what is available elsewhere for not much more.
It served its purpose as purely a place to sleep and not to stay.
