Detailed Reviews
We loved this hotel so much that we booked a second night there. It’s in a great location, an easy walking distance to both the pier and the major shopping district; it’s quiet; and the rooms are a nice size and nicely equipped — large, fluffy towels, bathrobes, slippers, and water (both still and sparkling) are included.
I recommend paying up for the breakfast. It has a really nice selection, including delicious fresh bread and pastries, smoked salmon, and to-order egg dishes.

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed for 3 nights into this newly opened property. The location is extremely convenient, right in the city centre, next to the parliament building. We enjoyed their beautiful spa with heated water pool, sauna and steam room. The rooms are designed with good taste and the hotel is very charming in its way. We loved the dinner we had at Hjá Jóni where we were welcome by Dominica (I guess), a lovely girl from Slovenia. The food was good and the service was of a good quality!
The reception is very modern and apparently they have a considerable exhibition of modern Icelandic art. It fits very well with the hotel. Additionally, the drinks that they served at the bar were very nice.

We stayed at the hotel for four nights and had a wonderful experience. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. Check in was very easy. The hotel is very clean and neat. Our room was well laid out and very quiet at night, so sleep was easy other than the 22 hours of daylight (they have blackout curtains). Breakfast in the hotel was very good. The hotel’s location is excellent — very convenient to walk to restaurants, museums and the harbor.

The hotel is gorgeous inside and out, it has the feel of a true luxury property — this is definitely not a middle market hotel. The room, while standard in size and structure, had a true quality feel to it and the shower was likely the best I’ve ever enjoyed at any hotel. The breakfast was fantastic, the pancakes were incredible ands again everything was of such a high quality. The service was always very polite and helpful, especially at check in and breakfast and a couple of times where I had minor questions at the front desk. The location is as central as one could ask for, not sure I would move it by even a block if I could.
I only have one critique, more of a feedback point and not something that changes my rating — at checkout, there were some small lobby bar charges for a couple of non-alcoholic drinks; they were not mine, and I think someone had accidentally given the server the wrong room number (or they misheard). The front desk staff eventually agreed to remove the charges but it did take some convincing including showing them the signature on my ID to demonstrate it did not match the signed receipt they had. It was a small amount so the stakes were low, but it made me nervous that someone could charge something to my room based on room number only without even verifying the last name. I feel other hotels would normally require this and there should be a better verification system. If the amount had been more, this incident would have caused a lot of stress especially as I was racing to catch my bus to the airport. Again, the overall stay was so phenomenal that I can’t give anything less than a five star rating but it was a sour note to end on, mostly because I felt like the front desk staff did not believe me and I felt a bit like I was being viewed as some kind of cheat for what was someone else’s error. I was worried I was going to end up having to take it up with my credit card company as a dispute, which is silly for such a small amount. So, just a suggestion to put in place a better system as opposed to letting anyone charge anything to a random room number, I could imagine this going very wrong in the future.

We stayed in a classic twin room for 3 nights. The rooms have a modern/luxurious feel with ample closet space and bright lighting. There is complimentary still and sparkling bottled water in the fridge and an espresso machine. The hotel itself is situated in a very quiet neighborhood, but is centrally located and within walking distance to many restaurants, supermarkets, and all major attractions. The closest bus stop is Bus Stop #1 | City Hall - Ráðhúsið which is only a ~2 minute walk away. Our stay was perfect up until the morning of check out - the front desk assigned our room to another guest while we were still in the room… The front desk did apologize for their mistake upon check out, however, this mishap did startle us.
Aside from that incident, we enjoyed our stay overall.

We came to this hotel after a terrible experience at Centerhotel Plaza and honestly the move turned our entire trip around for the better. The hotel is beautiful and brand new. Everything is fresh and spotless. The room was gorgeous (King suite), the bathroom was perfect with a large walk in shower and toiletries that smelled amazing. Comfortable bed and a non feather pillow was provided when I requested it. The manager was so helpful in getting a taxi for us on NYE. Speaking of NYE, the view of the fireworks from our window was breathtaking. The spa in the basement was a great way to relax at the end of the day... Giant hot tub, sauna, steam room and cold mist room plus spaces to sit and just relax in your robe. The hotel is perfectly located for bus stops and restaurants. I LOVED this hotel and can't wait to return.

I was excited to book at this hotel for my upcoming trip to Iceland. The Hilton website says it’s accepting reservations for Dec 22 and beyond. Since I’m not arriving until the 25, booked accordingly. I was on the app last night booking for an unrelated trip, and noticed my reservation had been changed to a completely different Hilton with a new reservation number. I called the Diamond line and a very indifferent agent told me I had called an canceled it and rebooked at the other hotel (I hadn’t). She then informed me that “someone” had called using my account number and done this and she didn’t know how to help me. She told me I could call the back in the morning if I wanted and they could review the call logs. In a panic, I started checking to see if my accounts had been compromised, changed all my passwords to everything, etc. When I called back in the morning, an angel fell from heaven and answer the phone. Without too much ado, she was able to identify that the HOTEL had canceled my reservation and rebooked me at a different property because they were opening until Dec 27 (the website still says Dec 22 as if this writing). No one contacted me, emailed me, or reached out in anyway. It was a prepaid reservation and while they transferred my payment to the new hotel, the rates for that hotel were significantly cheaper! The representative was so apologetic and mortified this happened (imagine if I got to Iceland and went to check into a hotel that wasn’t open and found out my res had been moved across town) and assured me the manager would call me as soon as they came in (I still haven’t heard from them). The entire situation has left me scrambling at the last minute trying to find suitable accommodations over the holidays only a week away from travel. While I can understand if they had some unforeseen delay in opening, they would obviously have to make other arrangements for those with reservations, it is inexcusable to do this without notifying or having any contact with the guest. I had no way of knowing this had occurred and it was only sheer luck that avoided a disaster. Not a great start for a new hotel.

A very comfortable stay in a very centrally located area. It is within walking distance to bars, restaurants, shops and the waterfront. Enjoyed being checked in at around 10am instead of waiting until the official 3PM time. The room was spacious for us to spread our luggage, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was welcoming.
Wished for but not available: Parking.
Unfortunately, the hotel did not have on-site parking nor did they provide any parking assistance, ie., valet parking. We were lucky to park within a 5-minute walk from the hotel and optimized the 6pm-9am window where it was free.
Oddity: Found an empty water bottle and one (of a pair) used slipper underneath the bed. Perhaps housekeeping would not have thought stuff could have been inadvertently disposed off in that seldom seen area.

Note that the hotel is not clearly marked in large letters like other nearby hotels are.
The Hilton is across the courtyard from Apotek and Hotel Borg. GPS does not quite get you to the building. We found a small parking lot behind the hotel that had about 15 spaces and parked there for the 3 hour maximum while we checked in and rested up a bit. Then we drove around to explore a bit and ended up parking in the "city lot" the hotel recommended which was near the waterfront and not too far away. Parking in this area is not fun.
The location is excellent. So many places you can walk to.
We had a dormer window room and it was nice and spacious. USB ports! Thank you! other hotels we stayed at in Iceland did not have these. Easy thermostat. Room had a closet, mini fridge, ironing board and iron, and robes and slippers. There was a kettle and also an espresso maker. Desk and a chair.
Bed was comfortable.
Bathroom was good with storage space and blow dryer. Shower was large and had a door (not all European showers have doors). The water did not really get as hot as I would have liked. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. Liquid soap and location were by the sink. Nice big vanity area.
The breakfast buffet was pricey but good and even included prosecco. We enjoyed it the one day we had breakfast here.
We also stayed at Apotek for our last night, and we prefer the newness of the Hilton (prices were too high for the one night at Hilton).
If you need to do laundry, the hotel has a service. We opted to go to Laundromat Cafe and have breakfast while our laundry was being done in their basement.
Liked this hotel and would stay here again.

This hotel is a great base for exploring Reykjavik and environs. The location is excellent. The lobby is large, with fantastic spots to hang out with people. The rooms are not large, but are well-appointed, with comfortable beds, great blackout curtains, a very nice bathroom (heated floors!), nice toiletries (I appreciated that they are large bottles affixed to the walls so plastic waste is minimized) and robes and slippers. The gym is relatively big for a hotel, and has mats, one elliptical, one stair climber, two bikes and two treadmills and a full selection of weights. The breakfast was outstanding. I've never not gotten bored at a hotel breakfast after a few days, but I was very sad to say goodbye to that one. The selection is very large and very diverse, with something to suit most Western palates. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

It’s a great location and Reykjavik, while having a good night life, is a very quiet city. The hotel is configured such that many rooms are away from the square that have some restaurants and bars.
I had to pay but it will be free for diamond members
You get your marvellous breakfast from 06.30 am until 10.30 am * enjoy!
