Detailed Reviews
We had a room on the 4th floor with a balcony, overlooking Laugavegur. Even though it was a Saturday night, we weren’t disturbed by any noise, and the room had a nice view of Hallgrímskirkja.
We were pleasantly surprised to be able to check in at 12pm when we went to ask if the hotel could store our bags for a few hours until check in at 3pm.
The lack of breakfast was not a problem, as we tend to skip breakfast and do brunch instead.
I would stay here again.
If you have a hire car, park in the P3 on Skulagata and walk the short distance to the hotel.
The lady on the reception was very hospitable.

I stayed here for 2 nights as a solo traveler. It’s clean, reasonably priced, cozy and the manager was awesome. The location is perfect since the restaurants are all within walking distance, tour pick ups are near by. Beds comfy. I really enjoyed my stay here. Again the hotel manager and everyone who I encountered at the front desk were polite helpful and engaging. I would stay here again. The restaurant/bar downstairs was closed but my guess is it’s COVID related. The hotel is next door to a super market which I thought was pretty convenient.

The hotel is in a very convenient location, close to the center and with a lot of food choices at walking distance.
The rooms look new. Our was on the lower floor so I was concerned at the beginning, but it actually faced the back of the building and had a big balcony and a lot of light. Not sure about the rooms who face the other side though so should I come back I'd maybe ask first.
The bed for my daughter was a sofa with a mattress on top, so not a real bed but she slept well. Probably not recommended for an adult, but for a kid is fine (I was aware of that, so no surprise).
The price is very good compared to other hotels and the cozy and warm room is much appreciated after a whole day outdoor.
A special thanks to Antonio, who does the night shift at the reception, who always took the time to chat and gave us precious tips about the less known activities.

A nice little 3-4 star boutique hotel in central Reykjavik. The rooms are very small but the double beds comfy if on the small size too. Toiletries provided in bijou showroom, and kettles offered but one teabag per person and no coffee. We brought our own coffee bags though. The elf-sized safe is minuscule and doesn't fit a laptop. Rooms are warm but if you open the small window, you get a lot of street noise until around midnight. Still, if you stay in a central hotel, this is to be expected. Staff are cool and nonchalant and don't really offer any kind of warm welcome which is a shame. All the same, they are polite if you do speak to them. We were out all day and used the fab café across the street for brekkie, so didn't try the dining facilities. A good and convenient bolthole for catching buses and for local dining options.

Excellent stay in Reykjavik. Hotel Von is perfectly located on the quiet end of the bustling Laugavegur street with easy foot access to restaurants, Hallgrimskirkja church and other sites. Staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and there was coffee and tea on the ground floor available for guests. The room is small but perfect for singles or couples I would say. I stayed 9 nights on a solo visit and overall would highly recommend this hotel for a visit to Reykjavik!

The location couldn't be better, in the middle of town, 5 min walk to bus station and pick ups, stores and restaurants everywhere. Rooms are good and the staff is incredible , so helpful and kind. Would recommend ! the take the time to welcome you and explain things that are relevant to your trip, I even saw the from staff guy take time to help a couple plan a round trip around the Iceland w a map and everything to detail. The views from the room are amazing.

My wife and I stayed here as our homebase during our October 2022 honeymoon. We stayed there for 4 days, and then returned later in the week for 3 days. Honestly, I was hesitant to book at first because there were limited reviews and the price seemed too good to be true. Turns out it's one of the newer hotels and not well known. The location was fantastic. Right in the heart of downtown. 5 min walks from the church, rainbow street, tons of restaurants and shops, the bus stop where many of the tours/fly bus (airport transfer) do pickups. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming. Calling us taxis upon request and always smiling when we came home at the end of a long, busy day. They accommodated us by securing our luggage for the few days we did not stay there- and we felt safe knowing they would be there upon our return. The beds were a bit more firm than we like - typical for European beds I hear? And our only real complaint honestly, is that the pillows are very flat. Other than that, zero issues during our 7 night stay and would absolutely recommend this hotel for the location, cleanliness, convenience and hospitality.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights last week and had the best time!! The hotel is lovely, clean, stylish and in a great location on one of the main streets surrounded by restaurants and bars. The staff are friendly, always smiling and pleasant. It was quiet, we couldn't hear any noise from the streets or any other guests. Lovely modern bathroom. A special mention for the receptionist who helped us get to the airport when our pre-booked transfer didn't arrive. She went above and beyond to make sure we didn't miss our flight.
We had a triple room with a queen bed and a sofa bed. This would be the only negative I could say and that was the sofa bed was only a bench seat/sofa. It wasn't a proper mattress and was quite hard and narrow. My son is 12 and said it was ok but I didn't think it adequate as a bed. This is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. There is a free safe in the room which is also a bonus. No mention of a restaurant or anywhere to get food in the hotel.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel and would return here again.

We had a fantastic time at Hotel Von.
I assume it’s because this is newly renovated hotel, it did not come up on our search field at the first place, so we almost could miss this, but how lucky we did not!!
The brand new cool modern furnitures of our room entertained our eyes, and the hotel staff could not be kinder & sweeter.
They have free all day tea & coffee bar, so we saved some money. The location was in the heart of Reykjavik. Hop out to the town & in was so easy from here.
We truly had 5 star experience with 3 star price.

Check in was quick and easy and the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help us.
We booked a standard double room and had plenty of space.
The bathroom was a good size with everything you needed including Toiletries - shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The water pressure was fantastic and the shower was huge. Loved the sockets built into the bedframe for easy charging. We were on the sixth floor at the back of the building which was lovely and quiet with a very nice view of the mountain. The TV was a great size and had several English channels. The location was great, very safe area on the Main Street.
The only negatives were the mattress was abit hard for me, very little wardrobe space and the shower head is abit too far away from the wall and causes the water to go everywhere so the bathroom floor got very wet.
