Detailed Reviews
I had the single room, enough space and warm in winter. I couldn't get a hold of them to try to store bag early. Kitchen and fridge available with table to eat. Stairs were a little scary in snow. Down an ally so a little tricky to find. Good for the price that I found.

Basic room but clean and warm. Shared kitchen with everything you’d need. It was in a perfect location for good bars and food. While not the fanciest it was a good price in a great location. A little difficult to find on iPhone maps, it’s down the side of the ion city hotel

Our Iceland trip was wonderful for three reasons: a car, lovely people and a super cool guesthouse to stay! The manager Anton was very warm and super helpful. We felt almost too taken care of. The location, the atmosphere, the beds, the sofa, the little decorations here and there are excellent. We will miss our time here. :)

Excellent location for exploring the city. The room was warm with hot water and one of the two beds was comfortable. Communication with the host was good. However; There were no window coverings on half of the windows which didn't give any privacy at all and we put our own make shift coverings up. The entrance is in an ally walkway facing large industrial bins from the hotel in the main street. My friend witnessed a homeless person looking through them. It felt very unsafe and the lock on the door felt insufficient for it's location. We barricaded ourselves in at night and left lights on when we went out. There were 2 double beds with only 2 pillows. It felt dirty. Glasses hadn't been used and were sitting on shelves dusty, on arrival the toilet had toilet roll in it and the toilet brush was really dirty! I've stayed in better hostels. We were disturbed by the rooms above, no sound proofing at all.

Room Tip: maybe a smaller room upstairs is better kept, however, the entrance is in the same location.

A place with rooms that were not at all soundproof, you could hear all the noise coming from outside and from the rooms downstairs. Furthermore, the structure does not have private parking and you have to look for it nearby for a fee.
The bathroom is not equipped and does not contain enough towels. The room with many parts having low ceilings and therefore required you to lower your head.

For short term stay this place was great - we stayed 3 nights! It's very small and very friendly and it a perfect location for the coach station, harbour and local bars and restaurants! We have never booked anywhere with a shared bathroom, but really wasn't a problem!! the owner topped breakfast supplies each night and the morning so was a help yourself in the morning situation, which was great as you were not bound to a time to wake up, also perfect to make breakfast to eat on the go! will be our first choice of accomadation when we get around to booking our return trip to Iceland

Loved it, perfect location and great host. The rooms are excellent, and the wifi was strong. The 'Free Breakfast' was a bit misleading, it's actually a stocked kitchen and refrigerator that is self-service breakfast. Not bad at all, just a clarification! Don't hesitate!

This is in an ideal spot for the busy area of Reykjavik. Good value, cosy and warm. The breakfast is in the fridge and kitchen to help yourself and replenished frequently which is fine, even though it seemed to be about 5am in the morning (the walls are very thin). Towels are provided and a hairdryer in the shared bathroom. Rooms are fine, could probably do with a good clean, (someone else's hair on the pillows etc). We never met the Guesthouse manager Anton, he sent his parents round for payment one evening, which I thought a bit strange. He was good at communicating by email though. How to get there etc was great, only thing we didn't get was a room number so we 'commandeered' an empty room, keys were in the doors of the vacant ones. A simple board or note to tell people on arrival which room they had would be really useful. We weren't the only ones with same problem the 3 nights we stayed. Having said that, we had a great time and for the price, I would certainly stay again.

Brilliant location and surrounded by restaurants and shops.
Really friendly man running the guesthouse.
Ideal location for getting collected to and from day trips.
We were so lucky to see the lights when over there.
The chuck Norris restaurant is close by and produces good food.
The hotel room was comfy and had enough space. Breakfast was also good and we could take fruit with us.
I would stay here again. It was ideal with my young children too.

It was a wonderful time in Reykjavik for us. We stayed there with a little children and a baby. The Housekeeper and his wife did everything to make you feel confortable. He gave us very good recomendations to explore the city. The city nightlife is just around the corner, but it is still quiet, because it`s in the backjard of the main shopping centre. Plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops are around. We´ve had a shared kitchen for the breakfast and our own for the lunch. So you can stay there with a family as well as a backpacker. The rooms have an average standard. Absolutely recomendable.
