Hotel Borg by Keahotels boasts a central location in Reykjavik that guests love for its convenience to local attractions, though some guests have called out the noise level from nearby streets and venues as a disturbance. The hotel's art deco style and ambiance receive plaudits, yet a few reviewers mention worn elements and noise issues. While the rooms are generally appreciated for their comfort and cleanliness, critiques include occasional noise, poor ventilation, and dated features. Travelers commend the friendly staff and the range of amenities, such as the sumptuous breakfast and spa, despite some finding the latter lacking at times. Concerns about the hotel being pricey and offering poor value for money are noted by some travelers.

This gorgeous, historic,Art Deco Hotel is a gem in Reykjavik.
It is a quiet relaxed classy Hotel is in a fantastic, handy location to the main tourist centre . 5 mins if you are fast walker like me .
10 mins tops ,literally around the corner to everything.
It is one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in.
Everything is pristine,shiny and spotless.
*The staff should be applauded for their hard work in this regard *
Housekeeping are so friendly too .
The beds are sooooo comfortable I slept like a log .
The shower is AMAZING .Best I've ever used and stayed in 100s of hotels .
Molten Brown toiletries 🤩
(I didn't have breakfast )
You wouldn't think it's in the tourist centre as its quiet !
The staff are friendly ,welcoming, kind, calm ,and efficient.
Special thanks to Julia who was so kind and sweet.
As a lone female traveller I felt very safe in this hotel .
You get an actual key too not the zappy kind .
In summary :
*Good for lone travellers
*Clean & comfortable
*Safe and quiet
*Good tv Uk channels
*Fantastic Shower .
*Perfect location
*coffee machine & Mini bar
*Proper hair dryer.
* PERFECT LOCATION .
* Bus stop for airport literally around the corner @ Bus stop 3 SUPER EASY do don't panic!

We have just returned from 4 nights in this beautiful hotel! We couldn't have been more impressed. Our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. The hotel was in a fantastic location and enabled us to walk directly to most attractions in Reykjavic. Despite its central location, our room was very quiet and we slept very well throughout our trip. We opted to have the hotel breakfast and this turned out to be great value for money so well worth it. The service at this hotel was excellent and the staff couldn't do enough for you. We would definitely stay again!

Our group of 7 spent five nights at the Hotel Borg. The hotel room was centrally located, clean and spacious; one room was turned into a triple with a roll-out twin bed. The bathroom provided all of the amenities of home - soap, conditioner, shampoo, body lotion, robes, and hair dryer with an added luxury of heated floors. We added the breakfast option which was a great decision. The buffet was delicious with both cold and hot options. The staff was very attentive and assisted us with confirming bookings, arranging tours and dinning suggestions. I highly recommend this hotel.

What a beautiful and perfectly located hotel. From the moment you walk through the front door you feel welcomed.

The hotel has an Art Deco theme throughout, we stayed on the second floor which can be accessed either by a large lift or stairs.

The room was very clean and functional, including a safe, fridge, coffee machine, hairdryer, English TV, speaker. The bed was also very comfortable too. The view from the room was of buildings but that’s what you expect from a city centre hotel.

The bathroom had full bottles of Molton Brown toiletries, but the star of the show was the walk in shower, so powerful and the perfect temperature.

Breakfast catered for all tastes, I highly recommend the waffles.

There’s a spa area downstairs but we didn’t use the facilities on this trip.

Adjoining the hotel was a bar that played live music for 2 hours every evening. If raining you can access this internally from the hotel. However the reception staff also have umbrellas for your use around town too.

I would highly recommend this hotel, and I look forward to my next visit.

We stayed at the Hotel Borg in July 2021, right after Iceland made it super easy for vaccinated travelers to visit. We loved it. We had a redeye flight that arrived in Iceland around 8am, so I booked the hotel for the previous night so that we could check in immediately. Obviously this is an additional cost, but for us it was worth it. There were lots of travelers just hanging out in the lobby with all their luggage waiting to check in, and we were able to check in right away. This hotel is right on a cute little square, close to tons of restaurants and shops. It's downtown location means that there is no parking onsite though; we found a parking garage that was only a 4 minute walk so it was no problem. Our room was huge, with a comfortable bed, a sitting area, a nice tv, fridge/minibar, and a nice bathroom. I was pleased that they provided us with a small fan as even though it was not that hot, I find it hard to sleep without a fan. One thing to note is that the domestic airport is close by, so you will hear planes overhead. This did not bother us at all. Everyone at the hotel was nice and helpful, and they had several vegan options for room service. No complaints at all, this hotel was fabulous.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The property is well maintained and nicely decorated. The lobby has adequate seating areas. It has a pool and gym/spa. Our room is spacious with a separate closet and space where we can leave our luggage away from the main room. There is a king bed and living area and desk. The bathroom is spacious with heated towel racks. Amenities include bathrobes and slippers. Wifi connection is strong. Towels and linens are fresh and clean. There is an in room safe and a coffee machine. We have a nice view of the public square across the street. Staff are pleasant and accommodating. Check in/out process is quick and easy. The hotel is located within walking distance to restaurants, shops and attractions in the center of town. Highly recommend this hotel when visiting Reykjavik.

Perhaps the best thing about the Borg hotel is its position - slap bag down town near innumerable restaurants and bars, walking distance to the opera house and harbour. The style is art deco, which is carried out to some degree throughout the hotel. Rooms contain lots of highly polished wood (not veneered chipboard), complete with polished wood floors. Corridors linking the rooms are even thoughtfully designed, wider than normal and pleasant to walk along - they've just been given a bit of thought, with specially designed carpets. There's no bar or evening restaurant but there's plenty of both all around. Breakfast, particularly for vegans, is a bit limited but adequate. Staff are unrelentingly polite and helpful and all in all, it's a very pleasant place to stay and genuinely earns its four stars. If I liked Iceland enough to return (which i don't think I do) I would definitely stay here again.

Beginning with the perfect location / setting, a historic structure, comfortable amenities and a staff that bends over backward to make sure you have an amazing visit, the Hotel Borg is the only hotel we visit when staying in Reykjavik. This was our second time in as many years that we have stayed at the Hotel Borg and it solidified our decision. The helpful staff assisted with great restaurants and sights throughout the City. Thank you for a wonderful visit and fantastic lifetime memories!

Terrific hotel! Very clean and quiet. Decor was authentic Art Deco and very chic; building is historic and in great shape. It is right next door to the Apotek Hotel (also historic) but off the busy corner. There are many great restaurants, bars and cafes nearby and the main shopping and eating neighborhood is a short, two block walk. Rooms are very clean, sheets are crisp and soft and bedding is wonderful. Room enough for two suitcases and they provide two folding stands. Closet space, fridge and safe are all there. There are blackout curtains (of course!). Bathroom floors are marble and heated, towels warmed on a rack and tremendous water pressure! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is terrific and had everything we could want. Very easy to quickly eat but also a beautiful dining room filled with big windows and banquets if you have time to stay and enjoy. I would happily return here and hopefully stay longer next time.

We booked this hotel as it was central and had a spa. On arrival the staff were very helpful and couldn’t do enough to help you. Our room was immaculately clean, it got cleaned everyday and it was so nice to come back to after a long day of sightseeing. The hotel was very quiet and we never heard a thing at night. The bathroom has a heated floor, a large shower and a selection of Molton Brown toiletries. The spa is also amazing and you can purchase drinks to relax with whilst you are in there. There is a huge selection of bars and restaurants outside this hotel and the location is fantastic. I would defiantly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Iceland and I will defiantly stay again on my next trip. Thank you for an amazing stay.
