Detailed Reviews
Our stay at 41 A Townhouse hotel was pleasant. My flight came in very early and they were fortunately able to offer me an early check in! The bedrooms were spacious, the mini kitchens had a fridge, microwave, stove and oven and great shower amenities and water pressure. It was a bit noisy at night (i had the windows open I need to sleep with a brisk breeze) lol but overall we were pleased.

We arrived on an early flight (6:30) and got in to Reykjavík around 8 am. The receptionist stored our luggage and told us we could check in early at 12 am after they cleaned our room. This worked great for us. We had breakfast, went to the church, and did a walking tour then returned and checked in before heading out again for our bus to the Blue Lagoon.
The rooms have coffee machines which can be tricky to use but the coffee is nice if you can figure out how to make it.
We had an overnight South Coast tour with a stay at a hotel in Hof in the middle of our trip so the receptionist let us store our big suitcase for one day/night until we checked in again.
The rooms are cozy and warm. The hotel itself is centrally located and it was easy to walk to everywhere we wanted to go. I see other reviewers complained about noise but we didn’t find it noisy when trying to sleep. We could occasionally hear people on the street if they were yelling in the evening, but not so loud that we couldn’t sleep or that it would wake us up.

Lovely clean apartment. Easy to find, cost 17,000 Krona (100 GBP) in a taxi from KEF airport, about a 50 minute drive and the same on the way back. Taxi booked 10 minutes before we left via phone at reception.
Location was fantastic, right in the centre on Reykjavik, plenty of bars, restaurants and a convenient store close by. Nearest bus stop for tour pick ups is no.8 right beside Hallgrímskirkja (church of Iceland), straight up the hill, situated to the right hand side of the church.
The room was clean and serviced daily. The kitchen was equipped with a range of utensils which is great if you want to cook.
We booked our tours with a shop on the high street. We found it easier to speak to someone and there was still availability for everything we wanted to do for the same day.
There's an Italian restaurant directly across the road called Rossopomodoro, we ate in there on our last night after returning late from a long tour.
Sandholt is a bakery which is also across the road which was great for breakfast.
Reykjavik Kitchen is about a 10 minute walk left out of the apartment, probably the best meal we had all week, it was fantastic.

Shame we couldn't use the balcony becuase of the weather but never the less the room was stunning. Would defo stay here again. Location was great too we was in 15 mins walking to the free pick up locations for tours.

We were originally scheduled to visit Iceland this summer in June. With the COVID situation the Iceland government shutdown the country and flights were canceled. The 41 - A Townhouse were very helpful in rescheduling our trip into July, but again COVID prevented US travelers from visiting and we were out of room to have the trip rescheduled in 2020. We attempted to cancel our reservation or reschedule into 2021, but were charged for four nights anyway because we had received a discounted rate in February 2020. The hotel suggested we use travel insurance or solicit our credit card company for a refund. Most travelers insurance or credit card coverage excludes pandemics. Recent communications with them have been unresponsive. Very disappointing to say the least especially when all of the other vendors (rental car, airline, other hotels) all refunded or rescheduled without question.

First solo trip and I purposely picked a hotel that had good reviews. This hotel delivered and then some. Really nice staff especially Agnes who gave great suggestions for where to eat...bakery across the street (daily breakfast for me) and the Public House gastropub were excellent. Hotel location was in walking distance to everything sans the tour I chosen which required pickup at a bus stop that was 10 minute walk away.
Room 108 was simply great with a street view. Comfortable bed and free coffee/tea with a really good expresso coffee machine.
Definitely staying here again!

Townhouse hotel was an excellent place to stay. The Economy room was perfect for us as a couple and considering the expensive cost to eat out in Reykjavik, having the kitchen area (complete with pans and cutlery) was a huge help and saved on some money. The staff were friendly and gave us the best advice on how to see the Northern Lights. Check in and out was very simple with the iPad.
100% will stay here again.

I think this is by far one of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed in. We were here on our last day of our trip and I was so bummed we didn’t stay here longer. I legit want to live in the room we stayed in. It was like our own apartment and everything was beautiful, brand new, and the design was so posh and chic. The shower was the best shower we had in Iceland, the temperature and the pressure was perfect. Waterfall shower head, and robes provided. The coffee maker was perfect and freshly grounds your coffee beans and even has a milk frothier. Honestly probably the best hotel I have ever stayed at and would love to stay here again. Definitely plan to make another trip and stay in Reykjavik longer just to stay here. Staff was also very friendly and helpful.

My wife and I were re-booked to this hotel because our original hotel was not operating due to COVID-19 restrictions. We arrived in Iceland early and worked remotely from our hotel in Reykjavik for 5 days before beginning our 2 week campervan holiday.
The studio was small, but beautifully decorated and equipped with a full kitchenette, which was very nice since cooking our own meals was important to us. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The location was absolutely perfect, close to shops, restaurants, and supermarkets and is on one of the prettiest streets in Reykjavik!
The windows are not extremely thick, so in the morning the noise from the street cleaners will wake you up, but we were waking up early for work anyways, so this was not a huge problem. If you were here on holiday, that might be annoying. It is also very small (the studio apartment) so it did feel a bit cramped after 5 days. We originally booked a larger apartment, in another hotel, so this was slightly frustrating, but given the circumstances, we didn't complain.
In general, I would definitely recommend this apartment to people needing a self-service property with a great location.

The location is absolutely perfect. On the main street for great shopping, short walks to museums, the Harpa and Old Town. The apartments have everything that you need, lovely amenities in the bathroom and an awesome shower! The bed and linens were very comfortable. I was traveling solo so I appreciated the secure card entry for the floor as well as the front door. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any inquiries I had. I might suggest that the hotel have detailed instructions on how to use all of the appliances, including the wonderful coffee maker, and the oven/microwave. There were instructions for the dishwasher which I appreciated, but I struggled with the coffee maker and oven/microwave as they were quite different from what I am used to!
Overall a phenomenal place to stay-highly recommend and will try to stay here next time I visit!!!

Hi, yes! There is an elevator :-)
I can't recall exactly I think its 11am. However they will hold your suitcases for you if your flight is later in the day.
Yes, they were relatively close.
I have no idea. I have never heard of that. Sorry
Yes I just got back but I booked my room thru a third party site. Request room 301. Faced the back and large room.
