Kind, nice small hotel. Very clean, comfortable rooms. Easy access without formal check in. Connecting rooms were offered for free. The only negativ experience was, that we were not able to use tha sauna, for separete times are given to males and females: not a good option for family members.

Father & daughter came here for the IIHF World Championships & felt a sense of trepidation due to the lack of good reviews; in addition to the lack of recent reviews. Hermica is as cosy as it gets. Great sleep, quality breakfast & courteous staff. What more could anybody possibly want?

I stayed in this hotel for one night, in room 112. The room was rather large for one person with two separate beds and one extra bed that was folded to the corner. The cabinets in the room were spacious. The bathroom was also conveniently spacious, and there was good place for shampoo and soap in the shower. The room was very cool in the night although there was no air conditioning. The sound insulation was very good, I could not hear anyone outside the room. The room was clean and there was an empty but working fridge in the room in case you want your beverage cold.

The location was excellent as the hotel was really close to the university building in which I had a conference in Hervanta. There were restaurants and a shopping area rather close. I tried the hotel restaurant in the evening and I think it was of a good quality, nothing exceptionally good but rather nice. The place overall was very quiet and peaceful at least on a Wednesday night. There were several parking places right next to the hotel. The service was good and the receptionists were very kind and helpful. The breakfast was good: different kinds of bread, yoghurts, serial, pastry, cheeses, ham, fruits, berries…

The reception seems to be closed from midday till 4 pm, and then again for the night, so make sure it is open when you arrive (after you have the key you can move freely in and out of the room and hotel).

If ever I come to visit the university area again, I would definitely consider staying in this hotel once more. It is nothing horribly special but a cosy place to stay for a night or two. The basics were in order.

Located 15 minutes outside the city center in a sleepy neighborhood. Nothing special, but everything you need, nice clean (but small) rooms, friendly staff and good breakfast.
Nice area to have a walk before leaving in the morning. Well worth the price.

Our family stayed for one night in Hermica. It is a small (50 rooms) budget hotel, outside the city center (8 km), in the Hervanta area.

We had two double rooms. They were modest, with two narrow beds (very good ones, though). There was a small TV and a fridge (which maked some noise) in the rooms. The bathroom was fairly large, with a shower. Everything was very clean.

As we arrived quite late in the evening (around 11 pm) on Saturday, the bar located next to the reception was somewhat rough. However, we slept very well and did not hear a peep during the night. In the morning, the breakfast room (actually the bar) was spotlessly clean and full of families with small children. The breakfast was OK.

Comfortable and clean rooms, although beds were quite narrow. Breakfast was good, with a variety available, and the location is ideal for access to the university of technology. Also some restaurants within easy walking distance. Wi-fi provided for free, but very unreliable, and slow.

This place is not actually a hotel but mostly a roadhouse.

The rooms are clean at the moment you check-in but they do not clean them again, unless you ask it from the reception.

The reception works for some hours (07:00-12:00 and 16:00-23:00). Thus, if you arrive any other hours you have to contact them in order to arrange how you will receive the keys. But the girls in the reception are really nice, helpfull and very professional. This is a big plus for Hermica hotel.

Another problem that i found in this hotel is the beds. There are very small and uncomfortable.

The breakfast is OK.

The bigger advantage of this hotel is its location, since it is actually the only hotel in this area. So if you need to stay in Hervanta you have no other options. Of course, you can stay in Tampere and use local buses for transferring to Hervanta. They run frequently and are very reliable.
Probably the next time that i will return to this area i will choose this option since Hervanta has actually nothing to do at night.

Hotel Hermica is one last option for travelers to Tampere, if they do not find any other place to stay at a cheaper rate. I had a rather long stay at the hotel for nearly one week, and I found it quite an average hotel. The hotel very much resembles a cottage house with lot of furnishing yet to be done. It has a cramped reception area, with often non-availability of regular staff members (a lot of receptionists come as a part time worker from nearby Tampere Univ.). The breakfast here is complementary, so you do not have to pay for it. The restaurant only serves Finnish or Fast food, which is also affordable. Internet is not free, so you have to pay for it.

Overall the hotel is affordable, but its quite packed during peak season (mainly due to nearby industrial area). Major companies are there just nearby, so it becomes a preferable spot for budget business trips.

They had the last available decently priced room in Tampere on a weekend where there couple of big events in the city. The price is cheap and you get what you pay for.
The hotel has limited reception hours, but at this weekend because the hotel was full, they had extended the check-in hours so early check-in was possible.
The staff is friendly and they offer free parking both on the outside parking lot and in a garage if there is space left. The garage only fits less than 10 cars so you have to be early if you want a garage spot.
I can see there is a wifi but I was never given a password for it.

The room I got was quite big. It had basic desk and couple of chairs. Lot of shelf space which is a plus. A modern flat screen TV in the room. There was also a minifridge but it had a little bit ill fitting door so it wasn't very cold inside but kept my soda bottles somewhat cool. The bed is very basic with soft springs, the pillows also very basic but it was ok for one night.

The main room was clean and the linen seemed to be clean too. However the
wooden floor was somewhat destroyed, especially near the desk and the nightstand the floow surface was completely scratched off and there were some elevated floor blocks as well. Also the cleaning has missed a visible winter boot mark left by previous guest. Furniture was in good condition.

The bigger grievance however is the bathroom. The floor was somewhat dirty, there were hairs and dust near the door. Also the old vinyl floor was looking a bit tattered, seemed to have cigarette burn marks or similar black spots and was generally unappealing to the point that I decided against taking a shower.
The toilet seat and sink were clean. The tower radiator worked.

The soundproofing was surprisingly ok, the hotel is quiet and I didn't have need to use ear plugs because there were very little noise from outside and inside.

The breakfast was a bit of a let down. They have a lot of variety but some of the warm stuff, were actually underheated. For example the karelian pies were warm on the edges but close to frozen in the center. The ball shaped doughnuts were the also near frozen. They should be served warm. Not a very good start for the day.

In general for the price the quality is ok. The hotel has some issues with cleaning and breakfast but those are minort considering the price. The location is far from the city but has good public transport connections.
