We were unable to complete our planned visit to Finland in June 2022 and had to cancel a number of guests and alter the dates for others. Hotelli Ville dealt with our requests and refunds politely, efficiently, and speedily with the minimum of fuss. Good old-fashioned service goes a long way and is really appreciated in these uncertain times. Thank you.
This was pretty good, the hotel looks a bit grotty from the outside and shares a building with other businesses, but the room inside was really nice and clean. It is not right in the centre of Tampere but a 10/15 min walk out, but the location is OK. In corona times they send you your room number and the door code the day before so there is no check in. They didn't come and clean the room during the day. Rooms are well equipped with TV, shower, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, minifridge.
Hotel is situated 2 kilometres from center market of Tampere. There is a bus stop just next to hotel. Place is very quiet and clean. Big rooms with microwave, kettle, coffee maker and small fridge. So you can make simple meals and breakfast in the room. Because of Corona the restaurant was not open. Very beautiful Park near. Hatanpää Arboretum.
For a budget hotel Ville is surprisingly high end. I stayed in a single room with a private bathroom and was pleasantly taken back by how spacious the room and bathroom were, with a ton of amenities. The room had a mini fridge, microwave, electric fan, both electric kettle and coffee maker, and plates and eating utensils. Additionally they had provided dish soap! The cleanliness of the room was up to bar, I had no complaints over anything in the room. Even the general noise level was lower than I expected, considering that the hotel is located next to a busy street. Location is great, quite close to the city center and bus station. The walk is straightforward but there’s also a bus service with a stop right next to the hotel/restaurant. The building itself may seem low end from the outside but is decently renovated from the inside. Check-in was incredibly quick and done at the restaurant since there is no check-in office, so I might count that as a slight minus that you are obligated to arrive to the hotel during the restaurant’s open hours. There’s no elevator, so coming with heavy luggage might be an issue if you have to haul it all the way to the top floor and other end of the building. Also worth noting that there’s no breakfast at this hotel, but there’s a supermarket across the street so you can buy some basic breakfast supplies to make something in your room. For my needs this was a great property and if I’ll have a need to stay in Tampere again, I’ll most likely stay at Hotel Ville.…
Läheinen kauppa on helpoin tapa hankkia ruokaostokset. Henkilökunta oli palvelualtis ja mukava. I was on a summer vacation with my brother and we started our first stay at Hotel Ville. The industrial style building and our room was Double + K or double room with kitchen. A neat room that suited us because we were able to cook our own meals from dinner to the breakfast. We traveled on motorcycles and the hotel has a great parking space behind the façade from where also the entrance to the room was. The hotel restaurant serves excellent beer and light snacks. The coffee was fresh. A convenience store nearby is the easiest way to shop for groceries. The staff was helpful and nice.…
i spent two nights in this hotel. For the money, it was real bargain. There was no service, but that didn't affect my experience there. The room was nicely appointed, with a single bed, desk, bathroom and closet. The room looked out on a parking lot for an auto repair so it was not noisy at night. I tried the attached pub once and it was adequate. The hotel is about a mile from the town center and not the most scenic walk, but there is a bus stop a few doors away. If I have any issue with the room it's the thin pad on top of a hard platform that serves as a mattress. That affected my sleep somewhat. My other hotel in Finland, not a budget hotel by any means, had the same thing, so I guess I can't find particular fault with this place.
The hotel has a large, free car park which it shares with a car repair business and a tool hire company. The hotel is situated on a busy main road and is about 10 to 15 walk from the town centre. There is a supermarket opposite the hotel but not much else around. On arrival, we had to give out name at the bar, which does not open until 3pm. We were then given a card with a pin number on, which gave us access to the hotel door and our bedroom door. No ID was asked for during this process. Our room was on the second floor and I did not see an elevator, just lots of steep steps.. The road outside became quite quiet around midnight, but at about 1am we were woken by lots of shouting coming from outside the bar below, where we had received our entry code. It was clear from all of the noise that none of the staff or the drinkers had any consideration for the paying guests above their heads. The hotel room itself had a microwave and cutlery and most of it was very clean. The wooden tops of the bedside tables and the normal table were very stained with grease like substances and I did not want to put anything on them.…
I stayed here for 10 days. Very clean double room, with microwave, water pot, fridge and plates with utensils. The toilet and shower rooms are at the hallway. Nothing to worry if you share them with other budget travelers because they are clean and well maintained. It can be difficult for travelers to reach the third floor if they have big luggages. Security is not a problem, this hotel is safe and they give you a door code. They do not have laundry services and with that, I need to go to the centre for coin laundry. However, I was told that it is possible to ask the housekeeper to wash my clothes if she has time. It would be nice to give a tip if she agrees. The grocery SALE is just across the hotel. Keskustori or the city center is 1.5 km away. Bus stop is just 100-120 m away. Highly recommended for business travelers and for those who intend to visit Tampere.…
I've stayed for 8 nights during the conference in Tampere. And is definitely the place I would recommend and go again myself: clean, cozy, rooms are well equiped, easy check in and checkout. Location was also great: cafe as a reception, a shop in 2 min walk as well as bus stop, ca. 20-30 min to almost any place on foot, great lake and park for sunset watching in 10 min walk. Car rental in the next building - everything you might need is there.
Hotel Ville was really positive surprise. We booked a room for a family trip for one night in double room with extra bed. Room has microwave, coffee maker, and some basic dishes (mugs, plates, forks, knives etc.). Compared to Omena-hotel which is quite same price range, room was much cleaner and personal and hotel overall was quiet and peaceful. They offer also free parking, with parking lot right next to the hotel, so I'd definitely choose this place again when traveling with car and low budget. You can find a grocery store just across the street and it's not that long way to the city centre. Lots of buses go there if you're not keen to walk. Very positive experience, definitely recommend!
