We liked this place and found it last minute as we had a trip change, but our room was less than wonderful. The room was incredibly small, which is okay, but the bathroom was just awful. Opening the door blocks the sink. The sink is a cute seashell shape which means you can't fill cups or water bottles in it or the SMEG teak kettle provided (why set it up that way?). Then the shower of course had no lip to stop the water from soaking the rest of the bathroom floor and was the size of a small closet. It also could use a good bleaching or scrubbing as the lack of ventilation and wetness made it a tad moldy (nothing too bad, just notedly not scrubbed). Finally, the hotel will charge you for the toiletries left in the room, if you use them.

Stayed with my infant. Room/hallways smells of cigarettes. LLights in the room don’t work. Bathroom lights are so dim, who knows what your makeup looks like when you leave. 4 star hotel, no room service, even though there is a restaurant on premises.

Me and my boyfriend have been staying at Axel Guldsmeden every time we visit Scandinavia for the last 6 years. It is located just a block from the central train station which is very convenient. I love the rooms, overall design and feel of the hotel. The breakfast is really lovely in a nice environment. Staff is very friendly and helpful with any questions you might have. The restaurant has a great ambiance with great food. Enrique at the bar was very nice and provided excellent service. Highly recommended.

The staff at this hotel deserve a review as they are exceptional. They all had a natural down to earth friendliness. They made excellent recommendations for sights to see and in particular understanding our likes, recommended restaurants that we really loved. This hotel felt like home and we would definitely return. It’s an eco hotel and their shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, body creams and oils were free of harmful chemicals but also smelled lovely and worked really well! The spa was a treat with complimentary body scrubs and products. They also had snacks and water to keep you hydrated in-between the sauna and steam room and there was a cold bath. The hotel vibes are cool and easy with lots cosy outdoor corners where you could enjoy a delicious cocktail in the evening.
