Terrible. The hotel has 4 stars but is fir one star.Maybe it was with four stars in 1960 .The smells of the carpet is horrible. They want 10€ for parking and its like a horror film.We stay one night without sleep because is terrible and we run in the morning without the breakfast .The toilets not renovated
I stayed at Astir Hotel for two nights. When I first arrived at my room the first thing I saw was the dirtiest carpet I have ever seen in a hotel room! After a phone call to the reception they changed my room and moved me to another one with a darker colored carpet! Overall the hotel looks abandoned and felt to rot which is really sad since it is one of the oldest hotels in the town! Btw I have stayed in this hotel about ten years ago and the situation was completely different! I called room service and ordered a chef’s salad and a club sandwich thinking they would be the safest choices! Unfortunately both were inedible! Salad had literally around half a kilo of cocktail sauce and the French fries from the club sandwich were cooked in a questionable oil since after eating just two I found myself suggesting them lots of hours later! I am really sorry to be writing this review since I really don’t like hotels with such big history end up becoming a place of past glory and nothing else! The staff was the exemption in all this negativity because they are always willing and happy to help and accommodate and their smiles show just that! And this just goes to show that bad management and apathy from management’s side is what created such results! The hotel needs immediately a change in more than one sections and hopefully it will happen soon! Otherwise it’s just a big shame!…
I've read other reviews saying you get what you pay for. I'm on a business trip and the company is paying the bill. I don't care if it is cheap, my bed and pillows smell bad and there is no excuse for that. There was no bath mat and because of the smells I needed one as I wasn't going to step on the floor. Breakfast was very basic, cheap food. No jam, hardly any fruit. I could live with the scuffed, shabby wallpaper but not not a smelly bed and the smell rises from your body heat. The TV is from the nineties but that doesn't bother me. The only positive thing I can say is that the staff are very friendly and helpful. There's a lot of noise from the street too but not much can be done about that. If this hotel wants to improve its ratings, it is very simple buy new beds and pillows, throw away those bedspreads because they stink!…
Came to this Hotel on the 13th May following a medical emergency from Argassi to an hospital in Patras Big hotel nice staff really make your stay better also a lovely big balcony that looks out over the marina awesome view
We decided to go to the room trough the stairs, that allows you to see the broken carpet in the satairs and the room that they have in each floor to keep the extra beds (like a Tetris), and you start to feel depressed. Going inside the room is like going back to the Seventies, but unfortunately with the same beds! The curtains and bedspreads are also of the same ages....but for me what is important is the quality of the bed, and I could say that are the worst beds that I’ve ever beeen (I speak in plural because I tried the 2 beds of the room trying to find the best one). You couldn’t escape the middle part, the width is just 80 cm, and the thickness of the mattress is ridiculous. Also, we were “lucky” to have sea views, but what you have between the sea and you, is a train station, that allows you to ear each train perfectly (of course with the window closed), from 6:30h to 23:30h. We were two colleagues in 2 different room and the feeling was exactly the same. We change to another hotel in the morning even without a shower (as other people said, the cleanliness of the bathroom is not the better).…
