Stayed here for several nights and the place grew on me. My first impressions were not positive as the area where the hotel is located is not great - an unattractive busy main road. However the location was only about a 10 - 15 minute walk to the main sites , restaurants etc. The room rate was extremely reasonable. Our "deluxe" room was hardly deluxe - plain nondescript room, nothing in the room or on the walls to make it look attractive or deluxe. Tiny balcony with a missing wooden slat (health and safety?!) which wasn't big enough to sit out on. Nice bathroom with a separate bath with shower and a shower cubicle which also contained the loo!! Not great when the floor is wet after a shower! Toiletries provided, but no cups or water glasses. A refrigerator in the room, but this was the only hotel in Greece that did not provide any complimentary bottled water. On a more positive note, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast in the very well appointed basement dining room was excellent and Covid measures were in place. The waitress were excellent. The rooftop terrace bar and restaurant had a fabulous view of the city and the Acropolis. However the house wine at 8 Euros a glass was absolutely outrageous. Overall a good choice of accommodation for the price, and price reflected the location.

Warm and friendly welcoming. Room clean with space. Breakfast generous and varied. Even with the covid rules they found a good deal. Close to absolutely all the highlights on foot. Roof top with one of the best views on the Acropolis by night. Only emprovement I could see is the menu of the roof top restaurant. Nothing really special and local. But it is good and the local wine choice is acceptable (especially having tried a few in other places). Go there you will not be desapointed.

The staff overall is very friendly and helpful when it comes to helping you finding your way through the city and the most important sites. While the hotel from the outside looks fairly nice, the location isn‘t and also doesn’t seem to be the most secure one. Graffitis everywhere, old or abandoned houses and shops. If you arrive by car there is a parking, however at the backside of the hotel and you cannot enter it without a key. At the same time you can‘t really park for check-in as it is on the main street. Hotel needs a makeover. Lots of the furniture looks used, there is broken stairs down to the breakfast room. Breakfast itself is mediocre, average coffee, scrambled eggs or ham being of discount quality. The rooms - except for the view to Akropolis - are not nice at all. Linens with holes, used chairs, broken desks, broken items in the bathroom that for sure already needed for longer a repair. Yes surely it is clean, just everything else is NOT according to a 4 star hotel - especially the rooms. If you are staying one night in Athens for a quick stroll through the city, this hotel may be fine. For anything else - better check for another hotel.

The location of the hotel is very good, 10 mins walk from Plaka, with very nice restaurant, and facing the Acropolis that you can enjoy from the room from the luckiest ones :) or from the restaurant (very nice food served), on the last floor ! The staff was very friendly, we were actually upgraded, and our room (Junior Suite) was very spacious. The bed was comfy. Some small points that could be improved: - The bathroom: in our room, if you take the shower with the water jets, it puts water everywhere on the WC as well... Could be rethink a bit... - No mini-fridge anymore (covid limitation), so we had to take an ice bucket from the restaurant to cool down our bottle of wine. But this is not affecting our review, because it is independent from them.

We stayed three nights at the Eridanus. We arrived late in the evening and were greeted with an amazing floodlit view of the Acropolis from our room and balcony. The room was a good size and was pleasant and comfortable. The only problem was getting steady hot water from the shower. The hotel has a rooftop bar/restaurant with the same magnificent views of the Acropolis. We ate there on our first night and the food was pleasant if unspectacular but very reasonably priced. Breakfast was plentiful and nice. The hotel is very well situated for visiting all the main sites on foot. All the staff were friendly and helpful.I would happily recommend it.
