Avoid rude staff

This location seems ideal but because of new rules your taxi can not leave you in front. The harbor is right there but the tiny rooms have no view. The front desk staff was rude! Asking for management got you the rudest of all. Breakfast was okay rather average. There are so…

Great location and if lucky, views too!

Requested a decent room/view but on arrival had to pay extra for a suite to get a decent view. Expensive surprise. Good service and continental breakfast. Porto suffering from too many tourists but great for a few days especially hiring bikes to explore river and coasts.

Not worth the money

We stayed three nights at the Riberia do Porto and had to move because they were full. Three nights at the Riberia do Porto were cheaper than two at the Carris. At the Carris we had no view, no breakfast and the place is like a rabbit Warren. It's was definitely more upmarket…

Car parking for hotel?

Go to the hotel first park in the bus area out the front of the hotel . They will show you where to park in the public car park across the road you say you are from the hotel and you pay on departure at a reduced rate . Make sure you leave your bags at the hotel first .

do you have twin rooms on a high floor with a view and quiet

Carrie Porto is a great hotel. But for a good view try the Pestana Vintage or the new Eurostars Porto Douro. Most of the hotels along thru Douro have limited parking.

What is the best way of getting to this hotel from the airport?

You can either go by metro to sao bento station or use uber instead (we used uber a lot in porto). The hotel is a 5-7 min walk from sao bento station therefore not the best alternative if you carry lots of luggage and it's raining. But we found it ok to walk with just our hand luggage as it is downhill from sao bento.
