This is our 7th time in Madeira and we decided we wanted to stay in the centre of Funchal. This hotel could not be better situated. We were concerned it would be basic as it only has a 3 star rating so we had booked a junior suite. What a surprise a good sized bedroom with

This centrally located hotel is perhaps unimpressive at 1st glance, and in my view lacks a wow factor. However, it does do all the important stuff very well, and that makes it a very good place to stay. The staff were really friendly and helpful, making it a pleasure to engage

Hiya, what are the prices like in the local cafe's/bars/restaurants please?
There are a lot of nice resturants nearby each offering tourist menu's. One we visited was the Ritz just across the road. Also there are some good places to eat on the front, one we particularly enjoyed was Grand Café Penha D'Águia.

I couldn't say for certain but probably not as guests have to use their room key card to operate the lifts to get up to the pool terrace.

Is there parking for a hire car near this hotel?
Is there parking for a hire car near this hotel?
I've never hired a car here so afraid I'm not sure about parking. There is street parking near the Municipal Gardens but it always seems busy. There is off road parking nearby but you would have to check with the hotel whether they have access to this. Personally we always use the buses to get around, it's an adventure.
