The Pousada Castelo de Palmela is located in the historic centre of the city of Palmela, 42 km from Lisbon. Sitting 230 metres above sea level, it has fantastic views of the Serra da Arrábida, over the Atlantic ocean and over the lowlands and vineyards of the region. The Pousada includes cloisters from the old convent constructed in the castle. The Pousada de Palmela offers an elegant restaurant where you can enjoy a variety of local dishes paired with beautiful local wine. An amazing serring

The hotel is delightful and very comfortable. Our room had great views from this high castle setting. The room was large, had a great bathroom and sofa area for sitting. There were many personal care items in the bathroom. The restaurant was wonderful. Wish we had one like it…

Fantastic historical location with beautiful view

The pousada is on a fantastic historical location with beautiful view, the pousada is a very authentic historical building, personel is very helpfull and friendly. Our room had a very nice view over the landscape.

Local staffing makes it!

Excellent service from the front desk made our stay extra special! Great recommendation of local fish restaurant for Black Scabord. Again hard to justify eating in the hotel due to price, value and quality of cuisine.

Historic location

The Pousada is spectacularly located on top of a hill on the plain south of Lisbon. The room was spacious. We had the half board option which was good food and good value. Staff were friendly & efficient. We enjoyed exploring the adjacent castle ruins.

I'm curious as to how windy it gets in the courtyard area, especially in the evening time..?

I've been tp Palmela all my life from child hood to the present. I'm from Lisbon, the wind depends on the season. The summer has the least amount of wind even on the hill were the hotel is located, Spring and fall is the worse time ,even then it is not Very windy.

Can you walk into Lisbon from the hotel. Do you provide transport from hotel.
