A Holiday Inn Express That Ticks All The Boxes
Arrival
Check-in was quick and simple and everything about the hotel explained.
Rooms
Clean, all the amenities you'd expect, surprising number of international tv channels. Room was a good size for city centre hotel. Bathroom with walk in shower.
Breakfast
Holiday Inn Express property has included express start offering, out of many I have been too around the world this had one of the biggest selection of an extended continental offering, chhese, meats, yoghurt, fruit, bakery available alongside Scrambled and boiled eggs.
Location
Few minutes from Pombal Square offering easy access around city by foot, subway and bus links. (Took 35 mins ftom airport by train) and walk to the Rossio area 15 to 20 mins
Would definitely stay again when back in Lisbon

We booked this hotel in Lisbon because it’s very close to the Liberdade metro station (just around the corner). It’s recently been refurbished and our room was very nice. Very comfortable beds and pillows that were soft on one side and firm on the other. We had a kettle and tea & coffee in the room and also a safe. The bathroom was very modern with a really good shower.
Breakfast was excellent with a really good choice - including a machine that made pancakes and also the famous Portuguese custard tarts! Yummy.
The only issue we had was that there are not too many restaurants in the immediate area, although if you turn left out of the hotel & keep going until you reach the University & a student area there are a few more.
There is a small restaurant next door to the hotel which didn’t look much but which actually had really nice food at a very reasonable price.
The receptionists in the hotel were lovely and very helpful.
There’s an ice machine on the ground floor near the lift.

Hotel had quite a few positives and a few points that might not suit everyone. Certainly clean, good bathrooms, comfortable beds and adequate breakfast. Location is good as many others state but you need to be closer in to the centre if you don't like walking, or be prepared to use the buses a lot. Not so good points - not the most spacious room, lack of storage space for clothes and bedroom was too warm for us. Hotel wouldn't turn the air con on as they said it was winter and the majority of travellers were heating their rooms according to their computer. The fact that the temperature was between 21 degrees and 26 degrees outside didn't matter. You could open the windows a little but not enough, and the road outside is very busy so from 6.00am onwards it was noisy. Not a bad place to stay at all, but need to judge according to what matters to you.

Average hotel. We were greeted by a unfriendly desk clerk on a Saturday morning. She was pretty rude in explaining the covid requirements and early check-in needs. I had booked 3 rooms for three nights and she offered IHG points only on one room even though I paid for all the rooms. One of the nights we walked into the lobby at midnight, and the guy at the desk didn't even raise his eyes let alone offering a greeting of some sort. The bathrooms and breakfast are decent.

This was our 1st visit to Lisbon and this hotel did not disappoint. It was 15 minutes from the airport by taxi (cost 25 euros). Check in was very quick and the reception staff were friendly and efficient.
The room overlooked the main road, so could be a little noisy at times if the window was open, as expected for a city centre.
The room itself was clean and serviced perfectly each day as expected. It had a safe in the wardrobe which was useful.
One small criticism is that there is almost no clothing storage space at all. We were staying for just over a week and had to live out of our suitcases.
The bathroom had a walk in shower, but was quite small. Water used to pour onto the bathroom floor when you open the shower door to go in when it was running.
There was shower gel and face wash provided.
Breakfast in the lower ground floor breakfast room was good, with a good selection on offer. It does get busy, as expected. One problem (not the hotel's fault) is the number of guests who didn't bother clearing their table after they finished. Tray racks are provided. The staff struggled to keep up with replenishing the food and keeping the tables clear.
The location is really good. It's a 5 minute walk to the underground station and the main drag into the city centre.
There is a small cafe/ bar opposite the hotel that has tables & chairs outside that services cold drinks quite cheaply. It's open from early morning, but closes at 5:30pm 'ish'.
One point to mention is there are very few restaurants and bars near the hotel. We did find a roof terrace bar and a neighbouring hotel but were charged 32 Euros for two G&T's so didn't return.
There are some hut type bars on the main drag under the trees which are really popular. The atmosphere is pretty good, but they are quite expensive.
Overall very nice hotel, good central location, good value

The hotel is located within walking distance or a short Uber ride for sightseeing. They are located within walking distance of the high-end stores for shopping. The staff was kind and accommodating. A great breakfast was served. The room was clean but there is no iron and the iron we received days after requesting it, was severely cracked so you may want to bring a small iron. The hotel was clean and charming.

Fantastic 3 night Pre-cruise Stay, great location, complimentary breakfast and staff. One thing no one seemed to mention was getting here from the Airport! I looked at various options but as we arrived Sunday evening decided to jump in an airport taxi. We used our credit card, so when in the taxi line tell the person sending you to an available taxi that you wish to pay this way and they make sure your taxi takes card. It was 25 Euros all in for 25 min journey, £20 so compared to London really cheap. Friendly welcome when we arrived at the hotel. People say it is in a really lively area, having lived in Paris, not sure I would say lively, makes out it is really noisy. We had a room on 6th floor looking out to the courtyard, no issues with this, no noise at all, room perfect and spotless. It was great location for sightseeing, just a 20 min walk to centre and the Rossio Train Station where you can get the train to Sintra. There is a fridge in the room. We got an Uber the morning of the cruise 7 Euros.

We come to Portugal every February for week , to get away from the UK weather. Our usual hotel had jacked up the prices, so we looked elsewhere and discovered this hotel.
It still a walkable distance from 'our favourite restaurant,'O Saboroso', and the 'Clatter Factor' ( how much noise the breakfast staff make with the crockery and cutlery) is very low compared to our usual hotel further north towards Parque station. The reception staff are amazing, especially the Girlie who worked the Bar in the late evening. Their English is very good; they could even communicate with a party of 60 + Scousers who were on a school trip.

We stayed two nights at the beginning of July last year at the Holiday Inn Express hotel in Lisbon and apart from the good location of the establishment, we were quite disappointed. The welcome was not very warm and the receptionist just gave us our key without any explanation, it had to go quickly, the room has no charm and we feel that the cleaning is done quickly and not in detail. The breakfast is quite mediocre, the room in the basement looks like a hospital room and the atmosphere is gloomy. Hotel without charm but practical for visiting the capital of Lisbon.

Stayed here for 2 nights in March 2023. Relatively near the metro but be mindful of the need to drag luggage along cobbled streets. Clean, simple and cosy. Liked it when it can provide a good rest for us in between visiting sights. All amenities are to be requested at lobby so the toilet is literally bare with only towels.
